Champions League Semi Finals (9th - 17th May)

At least it's our hands to ensure that doesn't happen.

Oh wait, that's not exactly positive, is it :nervous:

FA cup and the league are pretty much a done dealio. Only hope is Madrid smashes City but looks incredibly unlikely at Etihad.
Milan would be a pushover for City :(

City will easily kill Madrid at the Etihad. 1-1 is very flattering to Madrid

Good game by Madrid. People talk as if Madrid blew them away which didnt happen of course. Too bad they conceded in the their best part of the game. City is a favorite at the Council house but its Madrid, anything can happen. Good sign for Ancelotti is Madrid players completely stopped Haaland or stopped him the as best as they could.

I have a weird feeling it'll be Madrid/inter final with inter nicking but that's probably just me going insane.

Well as long as it's not city hopefully.

I would hate to see Milan going through after the derby.

I agree though that this would have been a fine final. AC Milan is a bit too weak though i think, especially if they face City in the final. If they face Real Madrid i think they win it.

Milan a bit too weak for City? And Inter isn't? Both our teams are too weak for either club we'll meet in the final, but either of us can win in a one-off matchup.
Every club on the planet is too weak for City, it comes down to having the talent on board to overcome that, and only 1-2 clubs have that, and neither of then are ours.

That said, still think one of the Milan clubs wins the CL. Just hope it's my side :)

There is no such thing with Madrid in the Champions League easily kill. Don't people ever learn anything? This is what they do, what they care about the most and train obsessively for. They don't care about their league.

City are favorites, but it will be close.

They've been clutch in CL games yes, but this time City have too much resources to kill them. Once Haaland scores that 1st goal early on, it's gonna be a route.

I really hope I'm wrong but City are way better than Madrid.

They sure didn't look it yesterday. For that matter, the only thing that separated them from Bayern was finishing as well. We'll see

Milan are the "right" kind of underdog in the final, a team with a couple of extreme game-changing individuals(Maignan and Leao) and multiple players capable of that one moment of magic they'd need

Inter on the other hand are the "wrong" kind. A team whose strenght is based on volume of play, without extreme talents capable of turning the game in a moment

Inter are a better team than Milan and I think they'll win the semifinal, but if you are looking at this with the lens of which team would have a better chance of beating City/Madrid, it's Milan

Shamefull decisions by referee. Forgiven 2 yellows to Bernardo, Rodri could do everything what he wants he couldnt get booked, not once called for VAR in 3 hand plays, ball was out the line confrimed by beIN technology. Disgracefull, just like supporting oil clubs like City and PSG.
Yeah and don't forget the not showing the doors to Grealish when he just had to. Ref looked desperate to help the Sheikh get a result. Instead he went on to book Don Carlo.

City is the sewer of football. A toilet paper ref fits them very well.

They still need to prove that.

I have the complete opposite view on this , I feel inter is much more defensively sound when they're up to it than Milan which matters a lot more in a one off game than in which you're looking to pull an upset.

I suppose We'll see but that's my hunch and I generally was impressed with inter in the group stages and last year against Liverpool, can't say the same thing about Milan who just jammed their way into a semi at this point.

Inter were FAR jammier getting to the semifinal than Milan. Their defence really isn't all that, not against what City/Madrid would bring to bear, and their attack would get neutered by both. Milan at least can live off one player getting the ball and running 50 meters with it, and they have Maignan in goal

He was by the touchline with multiple opponents coming at him covering most angles. It was fair to try getting out of it and keeping possession by going over them. But not according to redcafe where supporting our players isn't really a thing. I seriously doubt that the opinion would've changed if he had just gone forward instead of backwards.
I mean, seems any critique is not allowed now.

Inter should win due to form but Milan have been defensively resolute in the knockouts. Maignan is a brick wall to get past.

This is good! So that is the way to piss Haaland off and prevent him from scoring. Genius.

No way is that a flattering result. That was a very even game that could have gone either way. Madrid had a couple of really good opportunities and had spells where they pinned City back. They could have easily won that game last night.

way better ??

obviously you didn't watch the semi final 1st leg..

city other than kdb long shot, got no significant threat to Real Madrid.

Haaland being kept inside Rudiger's pocket.

Haaland is nothing to be fear of once you cut off the supply line from midfield to him.

Fun fact: including the game from last night, each semi-final team has only conceded 3 goals in the knockout stage. Opponents vary of course.

Just heard Milan-Inter is the only derby opposing 2 teams that have already won the UCL…. Do we want City to win the CL before Arsenal, making Manchester derby the most prestigious derby in the world?

Or Everton???? :D

Their chance to win the game was early in the 2nd half when they were on the front foot and had several dangerous attacks.

City posed more threat to Madrid than Madrid did to City...
Full control 1st half and chances, whereas Madrid had 1 or 2 breakaways, 1 of which was the wonderstrike.

2nd half, Madrid were far better in the first 15-20 mins but then City took over again. Madrid's chance to win the game was in that 15-20 minute spell and they couldn't capitalize

Hmm, do we want our leg chopped off or a slap to the face.
Bruh, seriously?

Whenever you feel their best chances came, it doesn't change the fact that in no way did that scoreline flatter Madrid. It was an even game and could have gone either way. Madrid played well.

Whats the difference with Madrid with them being a state run club?

State run club? Educate yourself, Madrid is non-profitable organization ran with a socios which cant be anyone. Nor Perez nor State own Madrid, and it cant be bought. You can find everything online, its free to educate yourself.

It is coming home right? Again? Fascinating really. All it takes is a vintage performance from Madrid, and City will crumble like a cookie. No amount of insane player depth will help.

Still, i give it 60:40 for City to go through. If not, Pep should do a walk of shame considering this is the weakest CL season in ages.

I don't need to educate myself as it's pretty common knowledge that Madrid under Perez has been bankrolled from very dubious dealings with the Spanish government through his construction business helping him earn billions in the process.

it seems unlikely at the moment, but can my red devil friends cross their fingers that leao makes the match tonight?

for the good of the game. for the good of milan.

Is this Spanish government in the room right now?

Elaborate please? Or you are Einstein so you dont need education. Typicall example of delusional guy who thinks hes smart, but its just opposite. Buying empty land with low value, invest for urbanizing of area with trening center and other buildings, make of empty land urbanized area with high value then sell it, thats state ran? Please dont throw your head in mud without knowledge, its just common like you said, common like your education on this theze is based on daily mail reports
Just like that PSG fan here who want to go against everyone here, saying PSG isnt milked with sister companys and sponsors.

Former Manchester United players Matteo Darmian and Mkhitaryan
Former Chelsea players Tomori and Giroud
Former Manchester City players Dzeko and Brahim Diaz

Will start in the UCL semifinal tonight. Rafael Leao and Milan Skriniar injuried so unavailable.

Interest duel also in goals, both Maignan and Onana are having a great season and I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the Premier League next season

I can't believe we're not getting Leao in this freakin' match through injury. Inter are lucky bastards.

There was a time when you'd look at this game and be quite confident whoever won would be capable of winning the final.

Not now.

They had some crazy luck with the KO draw. Just compare the top vs bottom. Italian teams literally got the easiest teams.

They wouldn't even make it to the semi's if they were put up with some of those teams
