Champions League Semi Finals (9th - 17th May)

outside of Madrid extreme joy and celebration
Hahaha. Before the match I heard one of the pro Madrid papers gave a proper back handed compliment to City, thou arguably accurate I suppose. “The team of the century Vs the team of the year”

To anyone one in Spain. What the reaction in Spain to RM getting beaten so comprehensively by City? I’m talking about amongst Spanish pundits and in Spanish written papers.
Mourning and rage

That match was easily more remarkable. Young Ajax squad playing at Bernabeu vs. substantially better squad than Real Madrid has today. Not even comparable.

That being said, i expected a loss - but going down with a ship. Once seeing line-up and Carlo`s ideas, i knew what awaits is absolute carnage. You cannot be that inept and demeaning, and produce such pedestrian tactical approach. As such. Carlo being 1,2,3 reason for such loss. Second being issues with squad.

Everything has aligned for City. The main reason being depression which has hit top football. If they have played something better than Inter in the final, it would be likely "the best coach ewah" would choke again. But honestly, i just don`t see how can Inter avoid trashing let alone win it.
Same here I don't see Inter avoiding that.

Inter three years ago had arguably a better side and weren't good enough to win the Europa league final and their current team is made up of plenty of Ex Man United players that probably wouldn't make the City bench.

Care to elaborate?

Three years ago they finish 2nd in Serie A point one off the winners and would go on to win the league title the following season. Going to probably finish 3rd or 4th this without a title challenge this season.
Worse players, worse team, less experience and maturity. Better manager but then Conte doesn't have the best track record in cups either. Throw in the conditions with the mini-tournament, the fact serie A finished later than evey other league by at least a week

Your English is a thousand times better than my Italian. Well all our hopes now rest with you.

Thank you! I am from Sweden actually and swedes are in general quite good in english. But some slang and sayings i can't understand that good.

Regarding if Inter were better 3 years ago i would say they are stronger now no doubt. Much because Barella and Bastoni has in my opinion developed into world class or at least close, depends how you define world class. Lautaro Martinez has also become much stronger and Onana is a big upgrade from Handanovic from that time. Calhanoglu, DiMarco and Dumfries have also evolved quite much, especially DiMarco. DiMarco is a really good player in his position now. Darmian is of course not as strong as Skriniar was but he has been very stable for us although he hasn't been a startplayer until recently. Dont know what Inzaghi's idea of our best back-line is if he prefers DeVrij in front of Darmian for example. Probably depends.

Also Inzaghi have been very strong in cups and knockout games which Conte wasn't and it seems that the morale in the team is very very good now.

Of course Man City is favourites and they could win with many goals but Inter has been very strong in cups and i can see us make some damage or win the game.
