Champions League Semi Finals (24th April - 2nd May)

Just because of Heynckes tactical tactical maturity and experience I want them in the final against Pool. The other good thing is that Real Madrid are serial winners of this Cup, and know exactly what it takes not to bottle when it matters most. So, either way Pool will be underdogs imo.

Bayern vs Real is a fascinating tie for that reason. Its' Heynckes' tactical acumen vs an arguably superior Real team in mentality and experience. Hard to predict.

I do think both these teams are capable of beating Liverpool though because of their experience. I can't imagine either Bayern or Real do something silly and watch Liverpool score in the final minutes to win the game, or the type of scenario that plagued Atletico or Juve in their finals.

Went to bed at 5-0 and was shocked that Roma pulled two back, that's brought them right back into it. I can't believe the naivety of klopp to not close out the game and sale through. It won't be easy in Rome but it's almost inevitable that Salah will score to put them through.

True that. I dont know whether I want bayern/madrid at the final. Ideal case for me would be Bayern winning it now.
Have they the chance of another treble? If yes it would be funny if there was one pre-Pep and one post Pep. Both won by a pensioner brought in to hold the fort.

If only our team is as good as Liverpool. It's a stuff of a dream, watching that attacking play by their attackers.

But meh. What we need is a defensive overhaul; as caf experts suggest.
Think if we sort those fullbacks out it will change everything. Just have the impression he knows Valencia and Young will just lose the ball upfield and that we are going to be under seige. I agree that we have to be effective when we attack. There have been improvements, but still need more.

Salah responsible for 4 goals yesterday. Put Alaba or Marcelo on him and Liverpool is done imo. If Young can do it then surely those two can

Again people miss out and underestimate the other magician at Liverpool

Firmino

Scored twice and assisted also ;)

Yep, I have called him one of the best strikers in the league here, would rank him after Kane. Annoying thing is, nobody realizes how effective he is (annoying because other clubs would then try to poach him). Maybe he is the true "silent domination" type that Gary Neville was talking about.

This is a disaster...spent a while last night adjusting my privacy settings on FB and blocking numbers on my mobile in anticipation for twats after the final...Think i might also go to the pro14 final at the Aviva that evening to get away from it all

Roma's defending was the worst I've ever seen for any team that has reached this stage of the CL.

Very bizarre that Messi & Co couldn't score in Rome.

They didn't even try to be honest, they had cameras around their necks and enjoyed the Trevi fountain it seems though ! Valverde should have been fired after that game to be honest.

Not sure which team to cheer for in Bayern vs Madrid, maybe Madrid as they have the best chance of beating Liverpool.

That depends if they even stay in a defensive position.

If u put 2 defenders on Salah, u have Firminho running wild in the middle.

yes we have seen how Marcelo performed against a fast winger like Costa

Liverpool in the CL final...boy did I not expect that at the start of the season.

You miss my point completely the key word is ENTERTAINMENT.
In all honesty how many times have United played entertaining, enjoyable football in the last 3 or 4 years ?
Yes our results have improved, yes we are above Liverpool in the lge but it is them blasting there way through the champions lge while we play with fear against Seville and pay the price

Ahh so we play entertaining football and risk losing games - is that what we want?!

I prefer to win any way possible.

they just got lucky with the draw. klopp is overrated. he might play entertaining football, but mourinho at on more trophies and he had a harder rebuilding job. finishes 2nd in the league too.

tried to sum up all excuses in one post

Starting to feel like their year ffs
Don't watch it.

They were 3-0 down to Milan and I started to watch;gloating at their impending defeat. That went well!:(

I'm not watching them this time...at all! Each time that happens, they lose. That's my logic

It's clearly their year. European teams are not prepared for what playing this lot actually means.
Personally, I love to see them lose, almost as much as I love to see us win - but them winning it this year will just spur us on to respond over the next couple of seasons.

Bayern do. They won't play into their hands
I’d rather face Bayern than Madrid tbh. Thought they were poor against Sevilla, especially in the first leg where they scores two deflected goals. I also don’t want Ronaldo to face off against our defence.

It means nothing, even more now that 4th place is direct CL qualification.

The PL is the best and hardest league in the world and played over 8/9 months.

It's a very difficult league, so 2nd place means lots.

Lol.

Delusional surely? We deserved to lose today as well am i right?!

No, you didn't deserve to lose today against Roma! How am I delusional? City had a legitimate goal ruled offside, and Salah was offside for Liverpool's first goal at Anfield. If not for those referring mistakes, wouldn't it have been closer? This is just a fact, that City got robbed and i'm no City fan at all. Getting past Porto, getting a load of referring decisions your way against City and playing Roma in the semi finals shows you have had an easy run in the knockouts than other teams. But honestly, you can only play who is ahead of you, and you have by far one of the best attacks in Europe, and you press well. But credit is where it is due, Losing a top player like Coutinho, and still managing to reach probably the CL Final(You are 70% there) and having an incredible second half of the season in the league shows Liverpool have done very well.

Nobody is going to remember or care who came second in the biggest one horse race in Premier League history. The title had been decided by October.

Bloody hell, imagine the feelings with this scenario, City - league, Liverpool CL, Arse - EL and Chelsea beat us in the cup! I would go into a cave for the summer.......

So hard that it was done and dusted in October.

Dear Lord
