Champions League Semi Finals (24th April - 2nd May)

He had a shite league campaign this season, but he won it last year and finished second in the year before by one point even though he got the job about midseason and defeated Barce the champions as well. Definitely not that "utter gash" if you ask me. It's just this season.
Fair point, forgot the first season was that close tbh.

 sometimes I think you're more a madrid fan than I am, AN.

I'm consistent on handball... Your arm should be in an unnatural position for me, and his wasn't.

It was outside the box anyway it seems, so it's irrelevant.

I didn't think Milners was a handball either for example

I hope people opposing VAR because it will "disrupt the flow of the game" are happy with how RM players were intentionally stopping the game every single second in the last 15-20 mins of the match.

I'll enjoy the Champions League a lot, lot more should Roma get through tomorrow night. Madrid are a mentally strong outfit, arguably the toughest in Europe, but even then there's the potential of a Scouse game-raising special in a one-off final.

A shuddering, absolutely shuddering, eventuality.

Don't call it an eventuality, for heaven's sake! I'm terrified as it is.

Of course I'll be the world's biggest Liverpool fan now until the final whistle of the CL final, la.

You can't jump unnaturally though and claim its natural because of it.
Its natural if his aim was to mime 9:05 on a clockface

Liverpool are winning the final especially if Casemiro starts, they are going to force him into mistakes. They obviously are going to need to keep their own door shut but can't see Madrid outscoring them in what will basically be a shootout, attack vs attack affair, especially since Madrid seem to have forgotten how to control games.

Bayern are so unfortunate. They need to refurbish their attack, when you are better than teams but still lose then you know that's what you need to do. The end of the CL is all about fine margins and the players that don't belong on this stage ended up costing Bayern. Tolliso, Rafinha, and the keeper were just to lethal a dose to deal with. Doesn't help that the forward players have suddenly forgotten their job description.

He’s only been gash in the league this season. Last season was great, and the season before that they only finished second because of Benitez’ shit start. Think from the moment ZZ took charge they got more points than Barca.
Accepted- I forgot his first season league-wise was better than I recalled. It's kinda weird. I don't care for France and Real are cnuts, but you can't not have respect for the guy.
His team didn't flatter him in the CL neither. His players' quality is saving him in KO competitions like the CL, where motivation is a viable substitute for a working system.
He's definitely got something- even that Barca side under Pep couldn't defend the UCL, so to possibly go three in a row (oh god please, not Liverpool) would be an incredible achievement. Back to '70s stuff with Bayern and Ajax.

If only the Real posters over here weren't so sane, I want to hate them more today :(

Am I of the rocker for thinking that if Roma can overcome a 3 goal deficit against Barca they can do it against Pool as well? Don't think Klopp's team is in the final already.

Yes you are, Roma are terrible & probably the worst team I've ever seen make the SF of the CL

To do it even once is an anomaly, let alone twice in a row.

How many of these Pool players have experience of a CL final? There's every chance they could choke.

I see them scoring in Rome and that's that.

Gives them something to work with.

But Liverpool only know one way to play, whereas Barca were very complacent, forgot to play their own game and ended up sleepwalking into elimination.

If Liverpool attack from the off, I fail to see how they don’t score against a side they’ve already put 5 past.

I still don't believe that we're in the final. I'm gonna have a heart attack one of these days. Sorry for you guys but I think Liverpool is going to trash RM

It´s funny that before the equalizer by James there was another handball incident. The player clearly jumped with the arms extended away from his body to increase the area to block the ball and the initial shot by James would have gone in otherwise. Was the contact in itself intentional? NO. Was the arm position intentional to allow for maximum goal protection? Absolutely. Should have been a penalty.

is there hope for roma to repeat the comeback?
anythign is possible but it would take a feck up of epic proportions even for pools defense. if anything it will finish something like 3-2 after a spirited comeback.

Jumping and spinning to block a ball is hardly unnatural

It happens in literally every game of football

Madrid have serious nouse in this competition. Liverpool play great attacking football but they simply don't have the experience that Madrid do. Liverpool are probably facing the most well equipped side in a final ever.

When I saw all the Real players running towards their fans with the number '13' on their shirts (going for their 13th title), I really feared the worst. . .

Bayern missing that final pass/touch all game. Lewy and Ribery specifically couldn't get that last touch/pass/shot in either game.

Ultimately two boneheaded errors are why they're sent home though. Some incredible lack of concentration.

Navas has exceptional positional ability (at least in this game).

They're such a talented and well balanced squad, but the amount of luck they have is a genuine mystery.

You know - this Bayern team is not good enough etc. - that is what I read here many, many times. They just can be good in the "Bayernliga"...

Now they miss a couple of their players, have nobody on the bench because of injury - and dominate a Real Madrid team like they did in both matches...

I am not talking about luck or chance conversion. I read since years about Kroos and Modric - the best midfielders in Europe. Has somebody seen them?

It's not luck. It's a mixture of class and an almost unique composure. You might luck your way to one trophy, but not to three consecutive finals. Real are pure and genuine class. They deserve this. Even if it's just because they are more stable than everyone else. That's what seperates special teams from normal ones.

Are you fecking shitting me? Have you actually read the stuff listed there? There’s stuff in it like „had a cold“. When you miss a game once a season, that doesn’t count as any major injury.

He's missed 73 fvcking games from injury. Only Cech is close with 63 and he's also known as an injury prone ass goalie. Even if you take the 44 he missed so far from his latest injury that's still 29 and still over the average for a goalie. De gea in comparison has only ever missed 5 games through injury his entire senior career. Courtois who has had his issues has missed 20 and so has Oblak. Lloris has missed 11, Ter Stegen 13, Navas 24, Bravo 29. The man is the most injury prone top goalie in world football and I wonder why the facts bother you. An injury is an injury no matter how big, small or how much time out a player takes to recover. The frequency of being injured gets you labeled as injury prone and Nueur fits the bill and some when it comes to goalkeepers.

If you’re genuinely looking for them, Kiev would be a good place to start.
