Champions League Gameweek 4

Does anyone know if anyone on here seen this city Barca result coming

Barca have been absolute shit 2nd half. Main problem has been getting the ball to their front 3. Couldn't play their normal passing game due to square pegs in round holes and missing key players.

That's been a problem for them at times.

They need another midfielder that's great at distribution. Someone like Verratti would be perfect for them.

Rakitic/Turan/Gomes/Rafinha don't cut it when Iniesta's on the wane and Busquets is having a rather sub-par season.

They have already been beaten by trash in La Liga this season and conceding. They are not the team they used to be, aside from their attack there is a serious reduction in quality in all positions through aging players and mediocre transfers. They are not 'the best team in the world' by any measure no matter how many time OH keeps saying it.

yeah, i was thinking that as I watched the 2nd half. By definition the high pressing tap dancing 'Guardiola Barcelona' ended the day after he left. Its been a diminishing fire ever since.

More worrying for us is that City looked a better similarity to the 'Guardiola Barcelona' than Barcelona did, especially in the 2nd half. There pressing and counter attack was frightening and they should have scored 2 more clear goals.

Imagine what this side will be like after 2 more transfer windows and 12 months more training in his methods :eek::eek:

Both Rakitic and Turan are proven top players who we would have loved to have at United 18 months ago. We would still love to have them now. We are still using Fellaini and a 36 year old in Carrick

This guy guardiola is lightyears ahead of our manager... and I wish I was on the wind up...
He inherited a better squad of players who were more settled in their identity of playing.

Maybe he is a better manager than Mourinho, but this result does not prove that.

They will get burnt out though (the players)

What has happened to Sergio Busquets? So poor recently.

More settled in their way of playing? they gave up under Pellegrini. Also many of their mainstays from recent seasons have hardly featured.....

Credit to Guardiola, he realised after the first match they weren't going to out pass barca and that messing about with the ball could lead to mistakes. That's the most direct I've ever seen a Guardiola side play. I don't mean direct as in long ball but in getting the ball forward as quick as possible, passing into open spaces etc. Not too focuses on retaining possession.

Turan has been shit since his move. He's not that good anymore.

Rakitic is overrated and I've said this for a while now. He would definitely improve us, but there's a lot of better midfielders out there.

Verrati is another overrated player trading his bit in the French league.

Rakitic has been better than Gundogan in recent seasons and is certainly not overrated. Turan had a long time out of football is true.

That may be true, but I've seen him dominate Chelsea while PSG were down to 10 men and he was pretty good against Barcelona too whenever they played.

Still, he does have a lot to prove, but I'd wager he'd be an instant success at Barcelona.

Did anyone not see the Arsenal goal coming? All season they've struggled in games they should be comfortably winning and then gotten dodgy decisions/90th minute goals to win.

Not really, we knew barca had key players out and have a shite keeper. City played well the first game till they went down to 10.

Sarcasm was being used, Kevin has let us all know this result was obvious, multiple times
