I'm not sure what's legitimate and genuine about choosing players who mean that, in two turns time, you are likely to get stuck. Sounds like folk wanting to have their cake and eat it. Or being unwilling to dip into the depths of a squad to find an unfashionable solution. Tough titty.
Obviously you've scoped this out in great detail, but it's all about the spirit of the draft for me.

@MJJ. I had a load of options with Laudrup, but there was no way I was letting Stoichkov go. Especially because I knew you'd pick him up. It was the obvious Romario pick, but also the best Laudrup pick.
Thought you might go the juve route with laudrup
I think I can sorta bleezy's next pick as well.
Torn between a few different possibilities. Got a feeling an obvious one might go, but I think I'd be better off building the next stage of my chain from a different direction anyway.

That's EXACTLY what I said before the draft started. EAP had a point that some could get stuck and I agree it could happen without it being deliberate. Problem is, no detailed definitions were provided, which is why I'm trying to scope it proper.
I'm actually tempted to go and get stuck just to show what a clusterfeck it is.
The best part was that after that I drew Fergus'son and no one could take Amancio seriously

Romario was the most vulnerable of the three. I could see the logic in that he is the most unique (however much I love Laudrup, there are tonnes of #10s that roughly "do the same") but where you sat in the drafting order it was completely kamikaze, someone was bound to swoop in.
Romario spent ages switching clubs in Brazil, there should be plenty of interesting links there, no?
Just gone through all his clubs, only one worth pursuing. I was counting on either one of laudrup or stoichov being picked and the player going down the **** route. Not picking the other.
Laudrup doesn't have that route, does he? And with Stoichkov it isn't a classic. The classic pair is Laudrup-Stoichkov although I'd argue Romario is an integral and necessary part of that triumvirate. It will be incredibly hard to replicate him.
Dunno if bleezy will ever reach there but there's a particular modern CF who I think is pretty close to Romario - style wise - and would be amazing style wise.
I have to say, I don't understand Gento-Amancio, @Šjor Bepo. You have to use your national team switch early or pick some random Depor player, which seems far from ideal to me.
Man, the decade limit is going to be a killer.

Stoichkov and Laudrup won 3 league titles in a row and the European Cup before Romario joined them, they did fine without him
. How often did all three actually start together in that one season they shared at Barca? The foreigner rule caused massive problems for them if I remember correctly. The non-Spanish defender in the team was always starting, which left Cruyff with the dilemma of choosing 2 out of these 3. In the CL Laudrup wasn't even in the squad for all the games in the second half of the season if I remember correctly.The whole triumvirate thing is a bit of a myth. And I don't want to take anything away from them as individuals, obviously they were all fecking brilliant for Barca. But very rarely together.
