I had a beautiful and devious chain but I've lost faith in my second pick and have now started again. I'm not at all convinced that what I end up with will be better than my original plan.
No one!Who's stuck?
Who's stuck?
I agree with this. How about letting @VivaJanuzaj decide the reset players? He offered to be AM draft master. No one, it's bound to happen sooner or later though so it's probably best to nail down something very precise. Just "options will be offered" doesn't cut it. It won't work and leaves everyone completely in the dark.
Two key factors to decide:
1) Continent/Decade teleportation shouldn't happen, ideally it's a reset at the very same club you got stuck in (or the one before that if no reasonable options are available).
2) Whether you offer options or the manager can put forward a case for a given option he has researched and works. Of course the reset player will not be a household name or else they have to go back to the drawing board because they would get vetoed. Otherwise the fortunes of that manager are purely tied to whatever player you pull out of your arse, which is a recipe for meltdowns when you are also playing.

@antohan I do believe you're a bit of a fan of our next fella.
Or at least I'll tell everyone you are anyway
First draft for Sivori is it? And paired with big John. Lovely stuff.
Didn't realise there was a reset card. Seems you can be reckless with the drafting and still come up smelling of clover. Would it not be better just to leave managers to negotiate their way out of a pickle? If they need to pick up an underwhelming player or to do so, then so be it. At least they then have to make a case for that unheralded player and it gives us somebody new to consider rather than a Mr Modern Day Mediocrity who we're all familiar with. It's also truer to the spirit of the draft.Don't talk to me about the green ripper or the skizzopaths, there I was happily contemplating who should have the honour of playing with my handsome leftback and they started circling me like hungry hyenas
It is indeed a dark lonely road. Any ideas on how to get back? Surely the reset card can't involve a spectacular jump across decades?
@Edgar Allan Pillow, what's your take on that? I gave it for granted but surely a reset in 1930s Flamengo can't teleport you back to, say, United 2005? As a rule of thumb, it would probably be best to allow a third player from the same club/era or restarting one step back? That's of course after genuinely having got stuck, clearly, nobody is getting a third pick from a 00s United side because "he is stuck". It's almost impossible actually.
FWIW, I think instead of you dishing out possible targets, the manager should be allowed to make a case for a rather underwhelming target in the same content/era that they have researched and believe allows them to get back on track.

Back-seat here to enjoy the entertainment.I just searched and he seems to have had one run out before in the Decades Draft for @EDogen against Brwned. I hope we can give him a good platform here as he's well overdue a good run in one of these drafts!
Are you sitting this one out completely mate or are you an AM for someone?

Yes. It needs scraping. The reset card is silly..
For example I can get to my 5th player and think f##k it ill reset to get modern players.. nation card still gives you a way out or a different option at least without being to easy

Yep.Breitnigge!
Do it.This is going way too slow. Hope you guys are OK to start timelines early?
If no concerns, I'd start the timelines from:
Tuesday, 25 August
23:00:00 hrs
GMT

I'm certainly in favour...although isn't that only one hour before the deadlines start anyway?
Can't remember seeing the 'must play in game 1' rule in the OPThe reset card doesn't work that way at all. See anto's threadmarked post on 'getting stuck'. If you get stuck and play the reset card, the case will be examined by a couple of other managers/neutrals (e.g. if he makes a poor pick now, but that leads back to better picks down the line etc) and if genuinely there is no proper way forward, I'll allot him a average player (who must play in Game 1). So it can't be used as a advantage tool and the manager certainly can't jump to another choice pick.
