It's no different from watching our games. It is only when we go 1 or 2 goals behind the players start to get their act together. They must have learned it from the management then.

I'm in disbelief as to why he wants to join us. Is his motivation only to try something new? If so, hats off for him. Not often you see that.
But I can't stop wondering whether something at Real is the real reason, or maybe a better and longer contract has attracted him.
No matter what, he will offer a lot more than our current options. De Jong would be a better number 8 than Fred, McTominay, Eriksen, Bruno, DVB and whatever we have. But even if we got De Jong, we would still need a DM to stabilize it. Now we just need 1 or 2 of our current midfielders to step up!

Absolutely agree with both these posts. Our midfield had the issue of lacking individuals who can progress the ball. But an even bigger squad-wide issue is the lack of natural ball winners beyond the defenders. So many our midfield and attacking players run like headless chickens and get beat with just a shoulder faint. It is said that Klopp was able to turn players like Salah and others at Liverpool into better ball winners when they press. We need ETH to be able to do same with some players, while being able to bring in midfielders who are readymade in that department. Casemiro is that midfielder.

I suspect we will play a conventional 433 with one sitting player and two more advanced players. There have been signs of that from the last two games and part of preseason.
