Reminded me of Ferdinand tonight. Absolute Rolls-Royce. Time slowed down every time he got his foot on the ball.

No beating around the bush, he's excellent.

Very much underrated him. It is probably less noticeable when playing next to Modric and Kroos, but he is class on the ball.

I love him. His ability to win the ball back is insane.

So important for a manager who wants his teams to win the ball.

that’s finally the casemiro I expected to see.

An absolute all round fantastic performance.

never knew he had such a rocket on him either?! these last few games he’s been so unlucky not to score with a few

The positions he took up, his placement in relation to the CBs, his reading of the game, and his use of the ball, were all world class tonight. Top fecking player. It's really weird having a brilliant DM. I'm not quite sure how to process this information. It's like waking up to find out your cock has grown by two inches; fecking great, but too scared to enjoy it in case you wake up tomorrow and find out it's shrunk to Ronaldo proportions.

Really a delight to have him in the team.

Glad to see he is no longer a 'club signing ' foisted on poor old Ten Hag, at least not until his next poor performance.

He is absolutely world class, and a massive reason as to why we're able to impose ourselves on games.

 fecking A.

Celebrated Bruno goal as if he had won another CL.

We've done it boys. We dragged him to our level.

Not to complain, but is there a reason there's no threadmarks in here? I think our Brazilian metronome deserves them :)

It feels so good to have an actual CDM whose best position is CDM, who positions himself exactly like a CDM should.

The problem is Erik it’s taken about 5 managers and 9 years to figure it out.
So easy to overlook the importance of a DM in favor of fancy playmakers and energetic players... But everyone just needs a quality shield. Helps when they're quality passers too

what I also noticed was that he had minimal movements. He does not run unless he has to. He plays the game at his own pace.

Feel like he's almost scored in every game the last 2 weeks. Has an absolute screamer of a shot on him. With both feet apparently

Love to finally see a dominant DM performance like that, been a long time coming.

EtH was correct again…giving him time to settle and adapt.

The media will obviously drop the bs stories about his signing now…onto the next negative storyline.

Lucky for the media they can always rely on Ronnie for some clicks.

We need to find quality backup for him and soon.
One knock to him and we're ass up in midfield waiting to get done dry.

It didn’t take long for the doubters to be made to look like absolute fools. Just a brilliant player.

here you go lads, milk of the poppy:

promised and delivered

Never takes more than two touches on the ball. Gets it and moves it quickly and effectively. So simple and yet our midfield has been deprived of it since Carrick retired.

He was so good, it was amazing to watch.

His anticipation is awesome!
He and Martinez can really dictate the tempo and development of game.

Love how he keep passing the ball with his 1st touch. We had too many midfielders (McTominay, Pogba, Matic, Fred) who needlessly took 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th... touches before releasing the ball.

True mark of legendary midfielder! Since he was caught and dispossessed during the match against Everton, he never looked back.

It felt like the switch has been turned on since that tackle, and thank God for whoever did it.

Hopefully he doesn't fall of a cliff like Matic, but that performance reminds me of exactly what we thought we were getting after Matic's first few games

McT is adequate enough and he showed that under ETH he can improve a lot. I'm convinced McT can be a good player for us down the road at least for the next 3 seasons.

What we need though is FDJ type to stock up the midfield.

I really do not understand this forum. All I see is fans creaming over Casemiro against a very low block, yet on the counter were a threat.

He obviously is a very good player but so far, none of his performances have been all that. I mean when we lose the ball, he wants to dive in to win it. The number of times in yesterdays game he went into a challenge and lost it, with the opposition then running at our defence is laughable.

Against better oppositions we are going to get countered with ease. Watch when we play Spurs and he looks like a tool.

What a tool

It’s amazing how he’s transformed our midfield to give that defensive solidness. Class player. He reminds me of Keano so much - aggression, defensively superb, work rate, leadership, keeps it simple with his passing, always looks forward. His attacking for a defensive midfielder is not too shabby either. Technically very sound.
