Casemiro is much better than I thought he was and I thought he was world class. His passing is so clean, really can pick out a teammate on the switch or with the through ball. Brilliant in the air, wonderful plugging the gaps. Can't speak more highly of the man.

He's a destroyer type DM and what we need is a possession based DM like Carrick/Busquets. It's another 60m down the drain and he'll probably just be a last 10 minutes off the bench player which is what he should be at most. Early days I know but I don't think he's going to be a good player for us, he's another player that lacks mobility like Maguire and they struggle in the premier league. Clearly he's not as immobile as Maguire, but he's not the quickest and not the youngest which is going to cause him problems.

When last did we see a DM performance like that from one of our players? Probably not since one of Carrick's games in 2013. His performance was superb both on and off the ball.

Most people didn't expect his passing. People on these board as well as the media don't watch much la liga and only see the 2 la liga giants in action when they play each other or in the CL. This is why you have the likes of Souness questioning his passing ability and claiming Modric and Kroos had been covering his passing deficiency. Spoken like someone who didn't watch La Liga games.
