Also, that camera shot from in front of the East stand when one of the goals went in of him on the halfway line, dropping to his knees and pumping his fists. Glorious.

That's not a bloke who's here for a payday.

Martínez is great but this guy so far has been the best signing for what the team needed.

He is a better midfielder than Carrick. No disrespect towards Michael, but Casemiro is another level.
I never said Carrick was better mate. Just that he was the best since him. Not the same kind of players by the way.

I was used to watch Scholes and Carrick for us then it was a sh*t show who lasted 10 years, 10 fecking years since we bought an awesome midfielder again.

I was just expressing my joy. I am relieved.

Class today. His patchy passing from the first few games was not evident, way better in that regard. Maybe rust, maybe just needed to get used to a different style, whatever, he looked the real Casemiro today.

Love this signing. He looks up to speed now and makes us tick.
Hopefully hebcan continue to get the best out of Fred.

He’s lightweight. Can’t keep the ball under pressure.
He’s in his 30s and isn’t someone who’s relied on his on the ball attributes.
Big wages for someone which will keep him here too long.

We need strong players on the ball. Players who will be the foundation of a long and, hopefully, successful team. Players who don’t continue to ruin our wage structure.
I hate to say it but am I ever wrong about a new signing. This guy is finished, Madrid sold us a dud. No wonder Ten Hag doesn't start him. He doesn't suit the type of football Ten Hag wants to play. He's a destroyer type DM and what we need is a possession based DM like Carrick/Busquets. It's another 60m down the drain and he'll probably just be a last 10 minutes off the bench player which is what he should be at most. Early days I know but I don't think he's going to be a good player for us, he's another player that lacks mobility like Maguire and they struggle in the premier league. Clearly he's not as immobile as Maguire, but he's not the quickest and not the youngest which is going to cause him problems.

I can't decide whether "lightweight" is funnier, or if "never wrong about a new signing, me" from a lad with 100 posts beats it.

Man , I love him. I knew this guy is a beast but never knew he had a slick one time passes as well!!

Real just didn't use it well enough , I guess

We have started to play out from the back more often because of him I reckon. He is so calm when pressed and picks out the right pass to beat the press. Allows our other midfielders to advance higher up the field. Great signing.

He's not coming here for a payday, so happy to see this performance. Sourness thinks he's not a good player

Is it just me, or does he continually look surprised

superb performance
He has that finely groomed eyebrow look combined with the killer chipmunk pout on point.

Absolutely fecking fantastic player, that was never going to be in doubt. How he's got used to the pace of the league so far is extremely positive and you just know we'll see another level from him in a few months as well.

He's not a 5 x CL winner by luck.

The doubters hadn't a clue. This guy is the real McCoy and I just wish he was a couple years younger.

Absolute quality. Shame that pinger of his left went just wide in the first half. I can feel his first goal coming soon.

Nice of Old Trafford to give him a standing ovation too. Unlike some on here, they are appreciating what he's got to the team

The fitter he gets the more teams will hate playing against us. Still one of the best DMs in the world.

No, they won the UCL 5 times I think they did alright. It's just a different composition he's playing around now so he's given a bit more responsibility with the ball. With Madrid he could sort of do what Varane does with Martinez and just give it to Kroos to watch him ping it about.

Exactly what we have been missing. A class CDM. as well as his defending some of his arrow like passing is now coming to the fore.

Top top player

Said before we just need to play him, get his match fitness up and benefit in the long run. I could see his class in the middle even at the start that we've been crying out for over the years. He's not come here to coast if you listen to his talk when leaving his old club. His passing and understanding of where to be and what to do are top level.

Very true. What’s great about him and Varane is they haven’t even come close to peaking here yet. It’ll be tasty if they do, even if it’s only in the short term.

Can't believe we waited this long to sign an actual DM with brains, Spurs only had a kick after he was subbed off that's a testament to how class he is.

I still remember Carrick against Bayern in the UCL where Robben scored that final touch of the game goal to knock us out. Carrick wasn't the greatest defensively for sure.

He tried to shield the ball and didn't attack it, fecked up and they scored, I think although Robbens Brilliance at the end knocked United out on the away goals rule, Carrick was the reason we got knocked out that season. (Rafael got sent off too but later in the game)

Casemiro is definitely a level above, but I totally agree he's the best player in the midfield since Carrick (someone that surpasses him)

He’s just a world class player. His passing, touch, awareness, technique…I underrated all of these from him when we first signed him. He’s the best DM in the world.
