I knew his passing was better than what people were thinking but even then I've been surprised.

I always envied City having Fernandinho cuz he would just sit and connect everything. Casemiro is every bit the same.
I guess he never really had to do more as he had Modric/Kroos ahead. It was playing CDM on easy mode in that regard.

Now he's out of there shadow he's showing he can whip the ball around too. I've been most impressed with his shooting. That left footed shot was better than most of our team can manage with their better foot!

When Fernandinho played his best football for City, Casemiro still always started over him for Brazil which indicates that his passing game being at least on par isn’t surprising.

One of those rare players who goes about his business with little fuss. Always in the right position and never has to lunge into last ditch tackles, always there with an incisive yet unspectacular pass. We haven't had those qualities in the team since Carrick left.

He was sublime against Spurs and fits the first choice back 5/6 perfectly.

The thing about being the sitting midfielder in a team that plays possession dominant football is that you don't have to be a world class passer of the ball. Its a bonus for sure, but being able to properly hold possession and switch play effectively with neat passes is enough because you have players in front of you who can make those passes.
I am willing to bet that the initial jittery performance in his first few matches was him acclimatising to the intensity of the epl which to be fair always catches many new midfielders by surprise.

Did not really think abt that.

You can see the way he moves and jogs and sprint that he is a class player. He doesn't waste energy by being a headless chicken.

This move to united will benefit him far more than just a great pay packet into his thirties, he is being given the freedom to show his full ability as more than just a typical defensive midfielder and is surprising a lot people with how much he can offer in possession of the ball.

You should see the way he ties his laces

If you can see what kind of a player is from that from the way a player ties his shoe laces then you should be a top agent. Make a lot of money instead of on this forum.

he should have plenty of miles left in his tank after wasting so much of his career in a shit league for a shit team.
Any club that has to put "real and not fake" in their name is obviously compensating for something.

Casemiro or
predator-2.webp
or Dan James?

You fecking beauty.

What a weak player.

His passion in the celebration. This guy is a different class from a lot of our players. He's a real champion and a winner, for once.

Defensively, no one passed him.

Also, you can see why Real Madrid team kept winning the Europeans Cup again and again with quality and mental monsters like him and others in that squad.

Just briefly we saw the psychopathic murderer that he hides behind the shy smile

The desire to play this header

The disappointment after that we didn't win the game

How the feck has he even done that, flying backwards, and getting enough power on it that the keeper can't even stop it after getting a hand to it? Incredible header.

Prime Ronaldo would have been proud of that one.

Massive flop :smirk:

Still early days but in the last few games he has completely transformed our midfield. We have been saying for years that we need a DM and we've picked up probably the best one in world football.

If we can get a good 3-4 years at this kind of level from him I would say he could be the best signing we've made post Fergie.
