Chelsea and Real Madrid. Can't stand it they those guys win the CL.
You know what he means.
For me, i don't want liverpool winning the CL. I still want us be the best perfoming English club in that area so extending that target is not a good thing.
I dont see why we cant have best of both worlds
Where is the United & Madrid option?
It's not like we can decide fate of two different competition. Why do we have to have these kind of thread asking hypothetical question?
United's goal as a club for the recent future has to be becoming the undisputed greatest club in England. Liverpool winning and having twice as many European Cups would be a big blow to that, winning 1 FA Cup doesn't make up for it.
Rivals' successes are intertwined, that's how it's always been. Barcelona did the domestic double but their season can go from incredible to just good depending on if Madrid win the CL final or not.
The problem is caring about United and L'pool (negative way) is not mutual exclusive. And fate of the competitions are out of our hands to decide as I put it. Why not maintain the wish of wanting United win and L'pool to lose? What happens will happen. To ascertain whether people care more about what Liverpool do than us, and frightingly it appears a lot do
In the grand scheme of things, we ought to be catching up to Liverpool in the CL wins. Them winning makes it harder.
I might agree if Pep stays there for 10 years. Otherwise, very doubtful.I think City are more likely to overhaul our European Cup total before we catch Liverpool’s tbh.
I'd sacrifice the FA Cup in return for a Scouse loss, although I don't particularly like Real either but clearly the lesser of 2 evils
My decision is swayed by the fact that we won a few cups in last 2 years anyway and we got that 2nd place so the season isn't dependant on a cup win.
Also I still hope to catch Liverpool's Euro Cup haul and that's the only thing they still hold over us
Because like it or not, liverpool winning the CL impacts us directly (past fan feelings). More money for them, more fame for them, bigger draw for players, all things that make them stronger long term and hurts us with us then being viewed as arguably 3rd most desirable team to go to. Right now, it's obviously City top and United 2nd. Liverpool win the CL and that changes.United win. Don't understand why this is even a question.
Doesn't make any sense! You could throw in any hypothetical scenario in there.
Would you take two league title/Champions League doubles back to back then Liverpool and City dominating for 10 years after that??
We can only control our own destiny so anyone opting for a Chelsea victory in the FA Cup....shame on them!
I know what youre saying but the OPs point (i think) is that is a good question (i.e for a debate) and its topical (i.e. as we're both in cup finals).
Rivalry is such an important thing in football so for those would pick a United win without hesitation, it's not matter of hating Liverpool more than loving United. It's about where we stand as a club and we can't just see ourselves in isolation. If Liverpool win, they will come close to us as the most successful club in England, perhaps overtaking us in the minds of many.
Get the feck out out of here.Chelsea and Real Madrid win all day long. I'd in fact take us losing 10-0 to Chelsea this weekend if it means Liverpool are going to lose the week after.
