Caf is dying.

i think Giggs is clearly frustrated with the current formation he is playing in. For him to come out and say he's not enjoying so much means something.

doesn't seem like he's trying hard to make what SAF asks of him work either.

if SAF persists on using him in this way then you could be right - we should take the money and run.

No I don't tbh. But Fergie has persisted in using him in that way.

I cant see Giggs being sold. I also cant see the team being decimated with 6/7 sales in the summer, thats just people over-reacting. I can however see a retirement, some bosmans and maybe 1 or 2 sales in the summer but I can certainly see strengthening in both Jan and the summer and also some of the youngsters being given more chances. Football is all about opinions and what a boring forum it would be if everybody agreed on everything and never questioned the manager/players/board etc.

The team that played against West Ham on Sun was our strongest team with the exception of Keane and Beckham. It was a very strong team and we should have won the game. Confidence and communication is a prblem at the moment.

I for one am happy with United this year. They are not playing well but I feel that it is a transitional period, alot of changes are going on at the club.

Players are deciding there own futures at the moment. People on here are just feeling the affects of that. More and more players are speaking out and there must be conflict in the dressing room for this to happen. The link up play on the pitch is all wrong and again it is due to lack of coomunication or players being on different wavelengths. If the team was happy with one another then they tend to gel, we are not gelling.

I aggree that people shouldn't be calling for heads, now is the time when supporters do exactly that, support. But I think alot of the transfer speculation on here is stemming from what is happening on the pitch and players criticisms about the team this year. I think if we get 3 players comming through the ranks ala O'Shea it will be a good year regardless of silverware.

The problem with having such a close nit group of players that have been with the club for a while through such success is that when things are going bad they are very bad and it will take alot to restore the harmony. If players like Giggs and Gary Neville are unhappy with United then it is an indication of how serious the situation is.

I have a good feeling about this year though. I think something special is going to happen.

Dunno about that, but it's bloody quite around here ATM.

There are a lot of muppets posting really negative shit at the moment. I have gotten tired reading it all and I don't visit the caf as much any more. Theres only so many times you can read

"The reasons for our decline"
"The strength of our squad"
"Fergie out"
"Make wholesale changes"

Its depressing. It is not about supporting the team. Some people make legitimate points about particular players but surely once is enough to make that point and then move on.

I for one think that the majority of the squad that are there at the moment will turn things around. We need strengthening in some departments. Some of the current squad aren't up to it. But I am sick reading the overly dramatic sentiments that are being expressed. So sick of it that I have stopped visiting as much. Lately the caf is more like one of those naf Saturday evening phone-ins than a United fan forum. :(

fair point...

but some fans moan, continuously... its generally the fans from outside manchester.

signing off.

forum policeman...

I get the distinct impression that a lot of the 'fans' in here see United through the eyes of their Playstation. Its almost like they think we can just ditch half the players they don't rate and replace them with sexy new replacements at will. Its crazy stuff. The core of this squad are treble winners.

feckING TREBLE WINNERS! If we can't support a team of players in, most of whom are in their mid-twenties, that have achieved so much then there is no future in supporting United. Yes the forum is about debate. Yes it is a way of discussing who is on-form and who is up to the task. But some of the stuff written on here lately has been just plain stupid! And the way I react to reading crap is by voting with my feet!. I think I could honestly say that by looking at the titles of each of the threads on the United forum at the moment there are only about 4/5 out of 30 that are worth reading. The rest are just made up of the moaning and griping of a bunch of muppets that think dismantling one of the most successful squads in history will help United. Why can't people accept that we are in a period of transition? Over the last 2 years we've lost Stam, Cole, Yorke, Sheringham, Irwin and Johnsen. Replacing those players was never going to be easy. Give the manager and the players time. MUPPETS.

I'm not sure what people expect from a Cafe like this.

If it were a pub you could throw the knob eads out.

You'll always get all ages, all levels of intellect, and ALL levels of football knowledge. And from all of the country/world.

Surely its a case of allowing everyone to throw anything (good, bad or plain stupid) into the pot and for the individual to discuss as they see fit.

Or am I missing something ?

"Be the change that you wish to see."
If people want better threads, they should make them. If they want to talk positively, then they should do that in those threads - and if they find the negative one's depressing or annoying, then they shouldn't read those ones. There's room for everyone on here.

I agree Neil, but a) a lot of positively titled threads, get bogged down with negative and b) the negative threads get far more activity

Case in Point:

The "Why Liverpoo will win the league" thread ran to 5 pages (and how negative a thread can you get  )

I then posted a "Why Man Utd will win the league" and it hardly got touched.

:(

Of course you can post the good, bad and stupid. All I'm saying is that there has been a lot of stupid comments criticising the quallity of this squad and its all becoming one big

You choose your own friends and I'm afraid the more mindless comments that I see on here the less likely I am to visit. Mind you I'm having a bit of banter today with this Muppets malarky.

All I'm really saying is you would expect better from United supporters than 'time for wholesale changes', 'Ferguson's finished' or 'Nevilles Out'. That is ABU talk and it is the type of talk that ABUs take great pleasure in. How can so many people visiting this forum forget that the core of our current team is the most successful set of players in United's history? I mean we go one season trophyless and so called United supporters want to throw the baby out with the bathwater. That is Muppetry of the highest order.

I think the problem lies slowly at the feet of Manchester United PLC.

If they not have a club, bring us all together and have a shit league campaign to date we would one, not be here and two be happy.

I also blame the weather as its being shit lately, we all know that, and I think its getting a few of youse down. Cheer up, Christmas is on the way, and you know what that means. That's right Willy Wonka's Chocolate factory will get a run out.

Here's a picture of Mike TV to cheer ya miserable sods up.

You can catagorise Manc fans pretty easily on here thesedays...

1) The nothing wrong brigade. The "defenders of the crown" type..they think all your players are better than everyone elses and that the last 18 months are a "blip"

2) The everything's wrong gang. All your players are crap, as is your manager..your only chance is to clear everyone out and start again.

3) The everyone is a muppet club. All members of groups 1 and 2 are daft, and you're going to spend the vast majority of your time saying so.

Half you cnuts won't know which group you're in mind...

what about the "some is wrong, some is right club" ? :D

and btw, only cnuts like scoushit fall into the 2nd category. so don't you dare classify them as 'manc fans'.

Agreed.

3 things to do.

1. Type Man Utd Chat into Google.
2. Find another Site like this
3. feck off and hope that the next site will put up with your wisdom

actually i've been thinkin that you lot haven't come up with anything new in a while.. our own fans are already doing all the criticism on the team.. so there's really no need for you lot.. and that means it's not you scousers who are keeping this forum alive.

rather than moaning.....

why don't people come up with suggestions?

whats wrong with replacing the likes of Becks and Giggs, Livvie?

or even ole?

oh i dunno, we stir the pot occasionally.

and you're right, we don't need to take the piss out of manyoo any more 'cos your own fans are doing an excellent job of that.

Wipe the shit from your eyes. Davo, Softlad and Nate offer us a bit of humour and banter on here. You are still a nobody and miles from being mentioned in their breath. Come back to me in a year and we'll judge whether you can be mentioned in the same breath as the others.

it's wrong because they made up the club.. and we know they're still capable.. just like how people still trust SAF..

we have to give them equal chances. i haven't seen giggs or becks play in their positions for a long time, maybe that'll solve the problems?

o no.. that won't happen i think.. being realistic we know that just wouldn't happen. even with so many things wrong at the club according to our own fans, it's still quite clear to all that we are a difficult to beat team. once we get our scoring going then we'll be back in business.

i'd like the players to prove the muppets wrong. i don't think replacing any of our players will solve the problem.. we just need to strengthen the team and get a few additions. we'll back above you lot in no time at all.

well from what i;ve seen, the wingers and link up player is where the problem lies..

we aren't creative and direct enough...giggs can't beat defenders anymore..and becks has never done so....

not saying sell them..but we should buy possible replacements... hence i've suggested Aimar, Joaquin and Vicente...

i agree with adding competitions into those areas to push players to work harder.

however i still insist that i think giggs and becks are being used out of positions, we'll never know how good they really can be until SAF put them back in their places.

should he insist with this system then i think we'll need replacements soon because it's quite clear giggs and becks are just not up to it so far.

you've stopped doing what you did well, it's as simple as that.

used to make 20 chances a game, don't any more.

used to outscore any opposition, don't any more.

used to play fast, direct football, don't any more ('cos of the european obsession).

used to have a great 'keeper and defensive lynchpin, don't any more.

used to have an aura of invincibility, don't any more.

I, too, think all the talk of showing the door to some established players is getting a little beyond rational. I mean, replace who? Class players don`t lose their ability overnight. However, much as some of us support Keano through everything, I think his opinions have contributed to a lost of the misguided talk and misinformation on this board.

Keano has the right to his opinion but I would have preferred it if he had actually come out and named names so that players like Giggsy who may be inconsistent this year but is still a Red Devil through and through and hates losing, don`t get unfairly stigmatised as somehow having lost their hunger.

I think Henning Berg was shipped out because Sir Alex thought he had lost his hunger but somebody mentioned Coley in another posting and I thought that was simply not true. I believe the younger, stronger, seemingly more predatorial (then) Ruud simply was seen to be the future of the strike force whereas Andy had contributed so much yet was nearing 30.

However, at the same time I will defend the right of any poster to criticise the team (even the Nevilles and Giggsy) although I will defend those players whom I think are having to endure unfair and ill-informed criticism. I don`t think it makes them muppets although I think some of the postings are a bit over the top.

Listen to her. Every time she opens her mouth something wise comes out. Seriously, it does.

I am NOT being ironic or sarcastic. Seriously. She is a devouted fan, but still dares to think FOR HERSELF. That doesn't make her a "muppet".

A "muppet" is a wrong term. Let's use the word PUPPET instead. And IF we have to stick it to somebody, let's stick it on the fans that never dares to say something critical. You know: "puppets on-a-string"...

don't have enough time to argue all your points but this one is extremely funny.

because of this, we're still in the CL and you're not. we're not 15 points behind you lot, and as far as this kind of performance go we caught up with you only to give it away last season. you didn't finish above us because you were good enough. it's because we made mistakes. so don't go dreaming on about how good scousers are.
