Bundesliga Confirmed Transfers

Had a release clause apparently so that's why he's cheap. Great signing for them though.

I see. Seems a bit strange that talented players like Jung and Andre Hahn have/had such low release clauses. Both of them switching clubs this summer is not really surprising.

According to BILD, Wolfsburg have begun their summer preparations with the signing of Sebastian Jung of Eintracht Frankfurt for just 2.5 million euros. Brilliant transfer for them if true, especially for such a low fee.
IIRC, the suggested salary for him is in the €4m p.a. region, plus EL football. Klaus Allofs stated that they'd want to maximize chances of winning the EL, and Jung is certainly a step towards this objective. I'm curious whom they'll sign as a new striker: Diouf or somebody else.

Wouldn't getting Diouf be quite underwhelming after the signings of players like Gustavo and De Bruyne? Sure, he's done quite well for himself in Germany after leaving United but I think Wolfsburg should go for playes of higher calibre to match their big ambitions.

He would be a nice option to have but I can't see him being an instrumental part of the starting eleven of an ambitious team. I could be well wrong though, as all I know is that he has scored some goals for Hannover and has generally done well in Germany so far. If he could take his game to another level then fair play to the lad.

Really surprised by that, I believe Juventus and Arsenal were interested in signing Jung. So would that be Ochs on his way out? Or Trasch?

As for the striker discussion, there's a fair bit of hype around Sebastian Stolze who's coming up through their academy.

Hoffenheim updated with the transfer of Ermin Bicakcic.

I've also added in Loaned out players. The only confirmed loaned out players are at this moment from Leverkusen (who seem to be doing a lot of business early).

because he is not that good.
I think his ambition is to play Euro-league, while clubs, that are playing in the EL, might be able to do better. He´ll also demand a relative high wage.
Dont agree.. He has been good in a bad team now for many years.. I think he could become a good player in the right team..

he had three good years (09/10, 12/13, 13/14) and was extremely average for the rest of his career. He could never replace Diego or Özil adequately. He is not a bad player, but there is no way that he would be a starter for Leverkusen or Wolfsburg. He could be a good addition for Gladbach or Mainz, but he might be too expansive for them. He is still on a old "CL-money" contract.
If he is willing to be a squad player or if he accepts a smaller wage, he can surely find his place in one of those teams.

I fully agree with you but it may be a question of availabit:. Wolfsburg has been and/or is still sniffing around Lukaku, Morata, Immobile etc but it looks as if nobody of those lads are interested. Diouf has at least played the Europa League with Hannover - can't recall his performance though or whether he was injured.

Didn't Stolze come from Erfurt in January as replacement for Wolfsburg's youth academy player Federico-Palacios?

Don't know how he's doing, just recall the hype around him: This lad had scored like hell in youth A league, participated regularly in training sessions with the 1st team and got the offer for a professional contract but wanted written reassurance that he'd play regularly in Wolfsburg's first XI. Understandably, the club didn't do that and let him move to RB Leipzig in January.

Wolfsburg should go for Volland. Can't see Hoffe resisting a big offer and Wolfsburg certainly have the money to tempt them.

Any Patrick Hermann rumours? I was impressed with him when I watched BMG play in the past, and he showed up on that list of Bundesliga most yards covered list that went around. Has he developed?

Sky are reporting that Calhanoglu to Leverkusen is as good as done, not a bad deal for them. They will have some very exciting and young attacking players there next season.

Jung to Wolfsburg is a good deal for them as well, comes very cheap too!

Can't say I know anything about Federico-Palacios! But I do know that both the Wolfsburg Manager and Sporting Director have been gushing about Stolze ability recently.

I'll believe it when I see it. Would be a fantastic signing for them if true though!

Can't wait for Calhanoglu to dothe same to Leverkusen in 1-2 years time what he does now to HSV: Telling the media 2 days before a VIP match for Leverkusen that he urges to play for a bigger club!

His tweets from today and previous weeks are priceless! Looks as if he has no PR manager whatsoever.

Leverkusen fans will retrospectively praise André Schürrle for handling his move to CFC honestly and loyally.

BTW: I don't see that the move from Marvin Plattenhardt is mentioned here: He'll leave Nürnberg to join Hertha.

He will probably jump ship next season if they don't get into the CL, no harm done! :D

Should we be sad we`re not in for Calhanoglu, with him being a young CM?

Tell me how to feel!

Depends. There's the question if Lahm is maybe wasted as a fullback and could be one of the best midfielders in the world for Pep's system. The influence of a CM is way way bigger than the influence a fullback has on the game. We clearly played the best football this season with Lahm in the holding midfield role in a 4141 and none of Schweinsteiger, Martinez or Thiago could play that position like Lahm did. They all struggled for various reasons and we had to adjust the system to fit them in, when they came back from their countless injuries.

Why is Lahm so good as a midfielder?

Thought Arsenal would be in for him, especially at that price.

This is the first Summer I've followed Bundesliga transfers, is it always this... fast?
If my memory serves me right, the majority of transfers in the Bundesliga happen before mid of July since the majority of clubs want to have new players on board during the training camps. . The Bundesliga starts late August, most clubs start preparation in early July. Exceptions from last summer are Kevin Prince Boateng and Gustavo.

Thought Arsenal would be in for him, especially at that price.
Arsenal may have been in but if you follow the Bundesliga, you'll notice that generally many young talents are down to earth and prefer for their next step a German club that offers realistic chances for being a regular starter over more prestigious clubs with more realistic chances for bench time. If the youngsters do well at those smaller clubs, they're still young enough to move to elite clubs.

ETA: When questioned, Wolfsburg's spokesman didn't confirm the transfer yet. I guess Frankfurt's new manager (announced yesterday) will start a last attempt to persuade Jung to extend at Frankfurt.

Because he's the most intelligent footballer Pep has ever worked with, so he needs to be at the center of the game.

I personally would prefer going back to Martinez, Schweini in midfield with one of Götze or Thiago as a 3rd midfielder and Lahm rightback. But with our constant injury crisis in midfield, it might make sense to build around Lahm, who's basically never injured and perfectly suited to that holding role.

He's stated that Lahm is the most intelligent player he's worked with? I'm surprised to hear that (I just assumed it would have been Xavi).

He called him that after the UEFA Supercup against Chelsea and later followed it up with statements like:
He understands the game. Not all players do. A lot of players understand his position. Philipp can play in all positions. Football is a game where people move and you have to decide in one second what’s going on in your position as well as all around the field, and what he decides in that moment is right.

I really expect him to build the team around Lahm, have him in the position where he can influence the game as much as possible and that clearly isn't the rightback position.

It's official now. Wolfsburg comfirmed that he signed a contract until 2018.

I'd love us to play with Javi and Scweinsteiger in midfield again as well, but I won't lie that the formation we used against Dortmund has me very interested as well. Of course I'd like to have Lahm back at RB but he has been excellent whilst playing in midfield too, the only problem is finding a decent replacement for him at RB. I'm not entirely sure if Rode is that replacement but guess we will find out.

Der VfL hat Sebastian Jung von Eintracht Frankfurt verpflichtet. Der Rechtsverteidiger erhält einen Vertrag bis 2018.

Wolfsburg have announced it now, great signing for them!

Update:

- Sebastian Jung goes to Wolfsburg from Eintracht Frankfurt for 2.5m
- Lars Unnerstall goes to Dusseldorf from Schalke for 250k
- Marvin Plattenhardt goes to Hertha BSC from Nurnberg for 500k
- Robert Tesche isn't offered a new contract at Hamburg - free agent
- Tomás Rincón isn't offered a new contract at Hamburg - free agent

*Please note:

Eintract Frankfurt, Gladbach and Colognes images aren't up yet as transfermarket isn't working. Once up, I can get them updated. I've been using Bild the last few days to keep track of transfers.

Hannover 96 Official Statement said:
Mame Diouf will definitely leave with the expiration of his employment contract on June 30, 2014 Hannover 96. In Diouf's advisors informed now sporting director Dirk Dufner 96.

Who's going to pick up Diouf then on a free! Think he'll come back to the premiership? Everton perhaps?

How good is Jung in real life? I signed him on FIFA 14. Never seen him play though.

Juve and Arsenal have been after him. He's a very good right back, solid defensively yet is an attacking threat going forward. Doesn't go in for tackles much either, he's not a rash defender. Can't say I've seen him an awful lot, but he's impressed me each time I've watched him.

I reckon it's important for Wolfsburg to have a RB who's better and younger than Ochs (who could potentially go back to Frankfurt), knows the league and is familiar with European football. That he's German and had played in Germany's U-something teams (I don't count the weird Poland match last week) would be welcome either.

Looks as if the Calhanoglu deal is at risk. Not because Hamburg's Director of Football insisted (again) that HSV won't let Calhanoglu leave but because his agent is quite defensive now. I still have hopes for an entertaining transfer saga ... :D

Calhanoglu will keep moaning as will his agent, Leverkusen will probably need to give Hamburg a nice amount of cash to make it happen. But i'm right in saying that Hamburg are a club that tend to be pretty tricky to negotiate with right?

I'd say a lot is politics at the moment in Hamburg. The decision on Sunday is pretty important for the financial future of the club. Having one of the biggest talents moaning in public that he wants to leave instead of becoming part of this supposedly exciting future is certainly not welcome. They will sell him in the end, in my opinion. But he should keep quiet for a few more days.

BILD seem to think that Immobile to Dortmund is done. Apparently Juventus and Torino have agreed on the transfer and are negotiation on how to solve the co-ownership issue. He will sign for 5 years and earn €3.5m and the deal is believed to be worth €20m. Hopefully it is true and they manage to sign him before the WC.
