Bundesliga Confirmed Transfers

Also BILD are saying that Adam Szalai of Schalke is off to Hoffenheim for 6 million euros. Not confirmed as far as I know but very interesting nontheless. Apparently a deal has been agreed and Szalai will undergo a medical at Hoffe soon.

That's a terrible price when you consider Hamburg got Lasogga for 8.5m.

Looking at the transfers, what exactly are Hertha going to do upfront? Both Lasogga and Ramos gone.

Maybe they'll hope that Schieber will show some of his old Stuttgart/Nurnberg form because he was laughably bad for Dortmund. Every time I saw him play for BVB I was left wondering how is he playing for them. On the other hand Schieber has never been a prolific goalscorer (even before his BVB move) so Hertha will surely need to get at least one more striker before the season starts.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has completed his move from Mainz to Schalke, and Thorgan Hazard from Chelsea to Gladbach on a 1 year loan is now a done deal as well.

Thorgan Hazard will play for Mönchengladbach this season. I guess that is a good move for him with a coach like Favre.

Stefan Mitrovic from Benfica to Freiburg is as good as done according to Portuguese press, not sure whether it's been made official yet. €2m fee.

Seems we've signed Bernat from Valencia on a 5 year deal.

Anyone know anything about this lad? Haven't watched Valencia at all last season and can't tell if he is any good.

We watched him earlier this season but passed up on him. He's a good player though, typical attacking fullback in the sense he's good going forward but needs to improve defensively. I think he's better than Sevilla's Moreno though who's the other highly rated Spanish one. How much've you paid for Bernat?

He's just 20. And most likely just a backup for Alaba.

21, but yeah doubt he'll play much, strange move for him.

According to Bild its 10m €. A good price for a young and talented spanish lad i would say.

€10m it seems. Not that much in todays market, could end up being a good deal in the long run.

I wonder if we might see Alaba play as a CM for us now and Bernat being the LB? Alaba has always expressed his desire to play in the midfield and with Kroos leaving it could be possible.

He's nothing special. Surprising signing tbh.

He's 21 and he's been good for Valencia this season. Would've thought for his own benefit he'd have stayed or at least joined a team where he'll be playing regularly but I guess not unless Alaba is used in midfield more which would mean he gets playing time at left back. He is highly rated though and will be a good signing in the long term if he's given chances, especially for the price.

Surprised Valencia let him go that cheap, good deal for Bayern.

Yeah that's cheap, especially considering Sevilla want more than double that for Moreno. Think he'll do well for you in the long term, especially if Alaba does play in the middle more so Bernat will get opportunities.

I thought he was highly rated?

He is.

I thought he was highly rated?

Depends what you mean by highly rated. If any young player that breaks through is considered highly rated then I suppose you're right. When I've watched him play I've not been overly impressed (that's a fair amount as I watched a lot of Spanish football last season on Sky).

What I mean is that there is a general consensus that he will (or should) go on to become a world class player, like Shaw for example.

According to Bild Mandzukic to Atletico is pretty much done. Would be a good Costa replacement, suits Atletico pretty well.

Mandzukic has completed his transfer to Atletico and Werder Bremen have signed Izet Hajrovic from Galatasaray. Hajrovic's completes a free transfer to Werder which is quite strange as he only joined Galatasaray in January for €3.5 million on a four-and-a-half year deal.

Hajrovic didn't get paid by Galatasary which all ended in a court case iirc. Basically Gala messed up.

How's Bayern's CM depth looking this season? They sold Kroos so they are reliant on perma-crock Thiago, aging Schweinsteiger, Martinez and Lahm to be the other options? This assuming Lahm and Martinez don't play in defense.

We signed Bernat at leftback, so Alaba should get some playing time in midfield. We also signed Rode on a free, who looks surprisingly good in pre-season. I'm not too worried about our options in CM and Schweinsteiger is still only 29. If his bad luck with injuries stops, he has easily 2-3 peak level seasons in CM in him. He's really not old for a central midfielder.

They have Sebastian Rode too, they got him on a free from Frankfurt.

Nice. I was assuming Rode was the German Phil Jones, a defender who can play midfield but I must be confusing him with someone else.

People still rave about Kirchhoff? That's surprising and wrong, very very wrong.

A bit harsh. He was fine in Mainz and Matthias(Sammer) saw something in him. Bayern was a bit much and then he got injured in Schalke. Still just 23.
Could become a good Bundesliga player.

Kirchoff is a walking injury disaster. Has he even played for Schalke since moving there last winter?
