Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

It's not guff. Many journalists reported it including City's journalists (Sammy lee) and Romano who are very reliable.
Personally, seems like the agent/sporting were the leak. Not sure this is the same as Sanchez.

I don't think he is so silky on ball as firminho. Isn't he more of a Rooney esque ? Sporting fans can tell about this.
Maybe @SportingCP96 can let us know. From what I seen he has a good passing range and first touch so can hold the ball up, also being in the middle he can surge forward and still get into scoring positions.

If that's the plan, then I'm all for it. Pogba is a great player but he's not the right fit for us at this stage.

Shitty plan. Sell our only creative player to buy one creative player.

Or here's a thought have two creative players......

City doing: ‘we never wanted him anyway’ leads me to be believe that we’re signing him.

Is he the ‘Portuguese Lampard’ like some people say he is or is it a lazy comparison?

What type of player is he?

Now watch as we get linked to Bruno, the cafe, which was in meltdown regarding City buying another fantastic player go from he's fantastic, we've lost another great player to City, feck you Woody to meh, not what we wanted, we can do better, WTH Woody, so typical of us etc etc :D

I didnt really want him, then City came in for him and I changed my mind and decided we definitely needed him. Now city have pulled out I'm back to not wanting him.

He isn't a winger. You don't need to be blistering. Easily faster that KDB and he gets in very well.

The biggest reason I want him is he has technical quality but also works very hard like city and Liverpool players do.
We're due a rub of the green with a transfer window after years of shocking outcomes. Even Klopp admits he didn't expect Salah to be so amazing, so I think we're due signing a couple of players that turn out to be top quality instead of flattering to deceive like Mata, Martial, Fred etc

Yeah, exactly.

He's guaranteed to be shit now and I'm not certain he's the type of player we can afford to gamble with, but had City signed him he would have been amazing. That's how it works now.

They don't have to save face on Barcelona or Madrid, it's obvious that he would prefer them.
I'm with you mate. I would like for him to join us but recent history makes me cautious, this transfer team of ours does not inspire confidence.

The worst thing is that City being in for a player and then pulling out makes me think the player will be absolute shit for us. It's what Sanchez has done to me.

Maybe City pretended to want Fernandes all along knowing we'd fall for it, offer him crazy money, then they'd have a free run at Felix instead?

And Fred

Duncan Castles said on his podcast on Monday that all the info re City interest in the player was coming from Sporting, and that it was likely just the club trying to make a market for a player they have decided to sell.

He also said that Fernandes is not good enough to play at an elite level club.

City did a Sanchez on Bruno. I just hope Bruno doesn't do a Sanchez on us :nervous:

If Pogba wants to leave, what are we supposed to do? Force him to stay?

Big If. Ole said he wants to stay so I tend to believe him.

If he wants to go you sell him for big bucks. Talking 160+ easy. Then you get in two creatively good midfielders to replace him. So with Herrera leaving we would have to bring in 3 midfielders total if Pogba is going.

Could be anyone really. Liverpool need a player like him. Arsenal could do with him. Real might want him if they’re not getting Pogba or Eriksen.

We could do with him a hell of a lot more than City. Lets go get him

I don't think Pogba suits the tactics Ole want's us to play, which as I understand is high pressure and tempo. I would rather we sell him and get 3 players who fit the team than have 1 who doesn't. Might just work out the way it did for Liverpool with Coutinho. I think it's a good time to cash in, he is leaving eventually anyway.

Pogba and Bruno Fernandes together isnt a balanced midfield, just wouldn't work. Would be like playing De Bruyne and David Silva, just both are far less possession oriented, not as hard working and you don't have Guardiola as your manager to make it possible.

Someone is trying to sucker us into making a bid.

Sporting have reportedly decided to sell and have been throwing City's name around to make a market for the player.

They may now try to do more of the same again and throw our name in the mix.

File under 'Gaitan'.

I see Sporting and Bruno did the classic how to get more money off United final negotiations starter pack.

Almost everyone tweeted at the same time.
