He was afforded too much space and no one cared about him. I bet he had a lot of that in the league. Even his compilation highlight didn't show that he was constantly man-marked. He's hardly a player who runs at the opposition yet he loses the ball too much. At least, he should have shown his mettle in the Europa League but he failed to.

This doesn't mean he won't go on to have a blast at City but City already have the template, we don't! Besides, we need a midfielder, not an attacker like him.

Ok let me stop you right there. Gudelj is a pub league player, Dost has no usage unless he is in the box, Gelson was not there this year neither was Carvalho and Nani was his only help until he left. As for the marking I am talking about in the derby games if you have seen them you would see that.

In Europa League he was the only one to score and provide what would have been the game winning assist which Dost missed and that was at a time where we had 3 wins in our last 9 games the team was laying horrible. Lastly we are only third place because of Bruno Fernandes. He is over 50% of the goals we scored along with his assists and the plays he created by setting up plays with his passes.

Bloody good price to be fair. With his output, Portuguese league or not, in surprised it’s not a stupid fee like £80million.

Anyone else thing he looks like Bernardo Silva? (appearance not style or play)

Sporting are the easiest team to make deals with it’s disgusting. Porto would of got minimum 65M for him as would benfica. Sporting just hands out players for free it’s sickening.
 
Sky are reporting it's Bruno and Rodri. The season isn't even over yet. We still don't have a DOF. Or a fecking clue!

I've just seen that man utd are willing to pay 75 mil in order to get Fernandez even though his release clause is 120 mil. We will just have to wait and see who sporting sell to. I hope it's man utd we need him badly
 
I would pay 75m for him if we had to beat City to his signature. We need players like him working hard for the team, great technique. Would sell pogba to accomodate him and Joa Felix.

That's felix I'd imagine. Fernandes has a clause of around £35 million.
 
Long range shots, deadly free kicks, eye for killer passes... this boy has everything Pogba should have been. Easily worth 80m or 100m based on his form this season. United need to out bid City with 80m and pay him 300k. Ole need to convince him, Come to United and become a legend.

Why didn’t they rubbish the stories last week when they were rife? My guess is he’s opted for a move elsewhere and City want to save face.

Praying it's not true. The last few times we "beat" City didn't go that well for us. They are probably faking interest in our targets which inflates the price and wages. We of course believe it and come with blank cheque.

Probably, I doubt it is us though. Our transfer strategy surely can’t be hijack Man City signings ?
 
They've either missed out on him to us and are trying to save face.

Or they were using City's name to push the value up and force us to over pay.

City were mentioned a week or two ago though right? Why didn't they come out earlier to deny it? Seems more like saving face to me.
 


Almost all the reliable journalists reported that it was very close to done, now BBC reporting that City never talked about the player.

Might be player rejected the move, so the leaks.

Looks like someone swooped in and stole the march on it, and by the looks of the amount of briefing's there's been today over it, it could be us.
 
It was a leak by agent and the selling club so that Ed is panicked and pay over the odds.

Still think he is not a midfielder and hope he is coming to replace Mata as 10 in a diamond.

Yeah, all reliable City journalists and BBC reporting it. So obvious leak, only question is why? I'm guessing he rejected the move to sign for other club.

If we do buy him I would like to see him in a false 9 role like Liverpool use Firminho, with Martial and Rashford/upgraded player as the wide forwards.
 
I've got a feeling that we're going to cash in on Pogba in order to fund Bruno + one or two others. Then blow the rest of the budget on Sancho.
 
Has all the makings of us swooping in (or always being the main team in for him). Would be happy with him, though mainly as I think Pogba is off and he'll replace Pogba. We still need 2 midfielders anyway, but Fernandes might be the 3rd who replaces Pogba.

He isn't a winger. You don't need to be blistering. Easily faster that KDB and he gets in very well.

The biggest reason I want him is he has technical quality but also works very hard like city and Liverpool players do.

I don't think he is so silky on ball as firminho. Isn't he more of a Rooney esque ? Sporting fans can tell about this.

It's not guff. Many journalists reported it including City's journalists (Sammy lee) and Romano who are very reliable.

If that's the plan, then I'm all for it. Pogba is a great player but he's not the right fit for us at this stage.
