Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

It's very optimistic. You're basically asking for the best scoring seasons from each of those players.

Greenwood isn't scoring 20 goals in his first season. Even Leo bloody Messi didn't manage that.

You're in dreamland buddy.
10-15 in all competitions from Greenwood, it's possible. Depends on the role he has.

And yes, I am expecting the best goalscoring seasons of their careers from Martial and Rashford. As should absolutely everybody. Up until this coming season they've always been rotation options, theyve always played wide, theyve often times had to play that wide role deeper then they would like. This is the first season where they are coming in as main players, they are a year older (21 and 23 now), so yes, absolutely everything points to them improving their output. It's the scale at which they improve it that is important for us to look at.

The 'club' has signed one on the top 3 RB's in the league and one of the best CB's in the league this summer. We've won every game in pre-season with the likes of Greenwood and Gomes looking genuinely class. There's a lot to be positive about if you want to see it

It’s really exciting that we have some real emerging talent coming through in gomes and Greenwood and the back 5 are genuinely title challenging now.

But, just look at our midfield?! Basically pogba is our only recognised Cm. Scott could do ok but it’s a bit if. Matic is done. feck Fred. Perrera is probably in a similar category to Scott.

Imo we absolutely need another experience and creative spark with pogba. Especially to give the kids that chance.

I don't think anyone disputes the quality of the defensive signings, but I totally agree with you that the failure to address problem positions higher up on the pitch will ultimately cost us from competing. It's the same thing every season I'm afraid - the issues are obvious but we don't resolve them

I know you asked me to leave you alone but when you say it'll cost us from competing, competing for what? The title or top 4?

Yep, total incompetence from the board. Same shit every year. Just waiting for the leaks by Ed about us getting a DoF to appease the fans and cool things down.

I know Di Marzio has taken a credibility hit this summer, but in a way it’s like the irresistible force meeting the immovable object.

Di Marzio saying the deal is close, BBC saying we’re not even interested.

There are last season’s stats. 84 goals, of which 20 will have vanished with Herrera, Fellaini and Lukaku gone.

In attacking reinforcements we have a 17yr old and two 18yr olds in Chong/Gomes.

Not to put too blunt a point on it but 100 goals is a fecking pipe-dream!
Again, I dont think we'll score fewer goals than last season. If we repeat last seasons goal scoring rate in the league and extrapolate the same rate across all competitions (that's a very safe estimate given we play weaker opposition in the Europa league, carabao cup and fa cup), and we make it relatively far in those competitions (something like semi's in the Europa which is standard for English clubs), then we'll have 100 goals.

I have no issue from debating with you and just think we can refrain from getting personal, from my side sorry for getting heated

I think we will struggle to get in the top four - of course we have a chance, but I think we won't score enough and will get played through in midfield leading to goals conceded against good sides (which is now half the league)

I am happy with AWB and Maguire and don't want to be overly negative but we haven't done anywhere near enough IMO, and it's a bit criminal given how obvious some of the team weaknesses were

We seem to have wasted a week on Dybala who I'm not sure was ever really right for us and the optics just aren't great for the club again - we never seem to have a cohesive plan in the market.

I mean, yeah, what happened with DoF?

It wouldn't be so infuriating if the club didn't come out saying that the wheels were in motion only to do nothing

We are a club that specialises in talking

Last season, our attacking stats were essentially the same as Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenals. Where we lagged behind was our defending (was mid table, same as Arsenal). Massive improvement in defence, around same attack overall. Midfield about the same IMO. With Maguire and Wan Bissaka, I think we'll get 4th. But still definitely need something in midfield, just Bruno Fernandes is not that player.

Should we compete with spurs chelsea and arsenal or city and liv?

We scored 106 I think in Mourinhos first season because we had Europa League. 63 games in all competitions. It really isn't stretching things that much to assume we'll average 1.67 goals per game across all competitions if we play 60 games. That's around 63 goals in the league across 38 games (and the other competitions you would assume we score at a higher rate than in the league because of easier fixtures in the Carabao cup/fa cup/Europa league.
So we scored more than a hundred in our best season post-Ferguson, and now it's realistic to expect that we could match that feat with our lot?

Every day I realize how incredible his season was. Imagine playing with these absolute piles of DOG SHITE!!!!

Fecking laughable. The fans get what ted deserve. Embarrassing.
4-0! Sorry mate.

Deary me, wonder what the team would be like without Bruno (hopefully you'll find out soon) :D

We arent competing with City or Liverpool this season no matter who we sign. Takes time to build the team and gel them together and then the final 5% to get the managerial tactics capable of beating Klopp and Pep with basically perfect starting 11's for what they want.

The investment banker decided he's still the best man for the job apparently.

Of course they haven't (the majority anyway) they still know he's the saviour though
Your U-23 team would beat us.

EVERYONE (Bar Bruno and maybe 1 more) are absolute pub league players.

FECK this coach. FECK this president. FECK the Sporting fans who have sent our club back to the pit. Congrats to them. Fecking clowns.

Absolute joke and absolute embarrassment.

Nani said it best this week. This club is fecking ROTTEN from the inside and stupid fans are the reason for it..

Are you talking about United?

:P

We scored only 54 league goals that year. We scored 68 in 17/18 and 65 in 18/19. 62 in 14/15. You for some reason keep ignoring that it's purely based on just quantity of games we'll play. I'm not predicting our scoring rate to be anything impressive ffs. We'll just play 55+ games across all competitions, a fair share against weaker opponents, and because of that, we'll break 100 goals.

I told you guys last season. We are a 4th and 5th place team without him last season. Fecking joke this. My week is fecked and its only Sunday.

It only takes time if you have a scatter gun approach to transfers.

No it takes time even if you have a perfect approach. Just like how Klopp had 3 full seasons of nothing but scraping top 4 until he actually made the CL final first and in his 4th season won his first trophy and challenged for the title. Or Pep himself only finishing top 4 in his first season but not challenging even though they spent loads.

Anyway, all this is the wrong thread. Stop being negative fecks. Bruno Fernandes was far from the answer from us, people just complaining because they want anything even though they rarely have ever watched him.

So is it correct to assume that Bruno Fernandes is not in the same tier with Joao Felix?

Yep, total incompetence from the board. Same shit every year. Just waiting for the leaks by Ed about us getting a DoF to appease the fans and cool things down.
The problem is that if we do end up doing that it'll be late, once again. Moyes, LVG and Mourinho should have all gone earlier than they did and resulted in us losing better options. Fellaini on deadline day, missing out on Herrera, the late panicked attempt to get Coentrao.

I usually subscribe to the whole "better late than never" narrative but only when it's with things like cutting the grass or pulling out. But with a football club? Nah man.

You sound like a United fan posting in the match day thread.

If you keep on pressing reset button with every new manager and set strategy according to incoming manager you will never catch the top guys. Ole won't last 3 seasons mate.

If Bruno Fernandes was far from being the answer , signing no one ain't an answer either

EMBARASSING. FECKING EMBARASSING.

The fans get what they deserve. WELL DONE.

Tbf all local sources confirmed this one to be a hoax from the start. If you ignored all that you have yourself to blame
