Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

The problem is that if we do end up doing that it'll be late, once again. Moyes, LVG and Mourinho should have all gone earlier than they did and resulted in us losing better options. Fellaini on deadline day, missing out on Herrera, the late panicked attempt to get Coentrao.

I usually subscribe to the whole "better late than never" narrative but only when it's with things like cutting the grass or pulling out. But with a football club? Nah man.

That's the thing, we've chopped and changed managers with completely different philosophies showing we have no vision or forward planning. The end result is we're left with a load of crap players on high wages which makes it impossible to move them on and now our wage structure is blown out of proportion. With a DoF we could avoid falling deeper into this hole.

Bruno Fernandes is a decent player from what i have seen.. He's clearly Sporting's best player but I am not sure of the quality of that Portuguese league.

On tonight's game he carried a goal threat early,he took a fair few shots,Some of which where last seen heading over the Atlantic Ocean at 200 mph..Benfica have a few decent pacy players i tell you.As for Fernandes, I dont think United have bid for him so maybe we wasting our time talking about it :)

What colour was his daughter wearing if and when he carried her onto the pitch?

What did the fans do?
BDC back in 12/13 was voted president and practically resurrected the club. We started competing and challenging for the title and the other big 2 were worried because they saw Sporting could not be bullied again. We stop Benfica coach dominated Portugal in 15/16 and we were slowly but surely moving forward. Players were not leaving for peanuts anymore etc. BDC made Sporting get the respect it deserved.

After the attacks on our academy the media and people inside they club did all they could to remove BDC from presidency especially the team doctor (now the Sporting president). BDC was effectively removed as well as being removed as a Socio (member) of the club. Varandas was then Voted President in September which 71% of fans voted for. I promise you Varandas will not last as President of thus club. We have effectively took 3 steps back. He ran Nani out of the club he refuses to sack a coach who has no business coaching and this is only the beginning.

My lowest point as a Sporting fan was 12/13 where we finished 7th place. I never thought I would feel that feeling again until today.

Absolute joke where my club has fallen too again. We return to being the joke to Benfica and Porto.

I appreciate it mate. Sorry if my responses have been absurd or out of hand on this thread my last few posts but I am absolutely livid.

No need to apologise. You're clearly passionate about the team and I think most people get it .. losing 5-0 like that is fecking horrible and it never feels good to watch your team get embarrassed. Sorry that it seems like your club is letting the fans down.

Do you think this result will make Fernandes push more for a move before the end of the window?

Sporting looked the better team until 2-0 then they shat the bed.

Fernandes was on economy mode all match, most likely because of his incoming transfer.

You don't need to persuade me, mate. It's the chinless troll man who probably wanks into champagne bottles that we need to tell this to.

I think they sacrificed the whole pre season to hold onto him and now they will still sell him. I hope they do tbh. I changed my mind he really does not deserve to go through this again.

My whole life I have wanted to see Sporting be the champions of Portugal and it just feels like it will never happen. The moment it felt like we were getting close we took 3 steps back. I dont know what to think or say anymore.

Fair enough. Doesn't make sense to hold on to a big asset if his head is elswhere. We have a somewhat similar situation with Eriksen though I expect him to be a professional.

Ah, I can somewhat empathise with the struggles of being the nearly men. Maybe not to the same extent because in other ways our owners are great, but certainly the frustration of wasting great generations, not trying to push on as a club etc .. it's all there as a Spurs fan too!

Remember hearing about the attack last year and that a load of players resigned - just had a quick google and it said Bruno terminated his contract too. Obviously wasn’t true as he played there last season so what happened for him to stay @SportingCP96?

In 15/16 we could practically touch it. It was the best season we have had in over 20 Years. Dominated Benfica and Porto beat them home and away ( and Braga) Beat Benfica 3-0 at the Luz. Knocked them out the cup etc.

Then in typical Sporting fashion in what was the title deciding game where all we needed was 1 point to stay top we are down 1-0 to Benfica and this happens.

You cant make this shet up mate.

That was the past. As for right now this club is absolutely rotten. Nani said it and we all know it.

Sporting manager said we have to wait and see what happens with Bruno Fernandes. He was asked directly in his post match interview.

Out of all the players who terminated there contracts Bruno, Bas Dost and Battaglia were the only ones who returned.

Bas Dost and Battaglia used it as a way to make more money and both of them got substantial raises on there contracts. As for Bruno he returned with no pay raise except for a clause in his contract and of Course his agent getting some money out of it too.

Essentially they used it as a was to make a bigger paycheck bar bruno.

 Oh jesus that's bad. I remember Bryan Ruiz being a handy little player too. That is so something that I could see happening to Spurs.

Hope you get back up there and the club gets itself sorted. Sucks when fans are getting screwed over.

So, did he waive goodbye to the crowd? Did he shake hands with his teammates?

I appreciate this mate. The Sporting forum is a dark place right now. Hopefully Spurs at least have a good season. They are. headed the right way at least.

The Dybala news would be much more tolerable if there were reports of movement with Bruno, instead the club have seemingly briefed that we have no interest in him :(

Really thought, erroneously now I guess, that we'd go into the season not having to rely strictly on Pogba as our main creative outlet yet here we go again it seems

It's starting to get very worrying now. We desperately need 1 more player in at least.

So, we are not interested as reported. Too much smokes but no fire?

After watching the video of him crying at the end of tonight's match I believe he's definitely off. Why would a player do that if he wasn't 100% sure he was leaving.

Maybe he's crying from the result. They got embarrassed and lost 5-0.
