Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

This reminds me of Fabinho from two summers ago.

A quality player at a good age who would have been brilliant for us and supposedly wants to join us.
The foreign press, especially Di Marzio, link him with United for a long time.
United fans love it.
The British press say it's not happening and that Mourinho wants either Dier or Matic. (Solskjaer and Longstaff in this case).
United fans are like wtf.
Next step I guess is we buy Longstaff and one of our rivals buys Fernandes.
Longstaff and Bruno are 2 different players, would have been a good idea to check that before typing that.

If Greenwood matches Lukaku's goal tally from last season, that's pretty impressive going for a player at his stage!
Greenwood isn't the player taking Lukaku's place in the team though. Those expectations should be placed on Rashford.

I don't think anyone's ever been in for Fernandes. Sporting desperately want a paycheck for a player who's never going to fetch a better sum.

Nah, I disagree.

If the stuff being mentioned about his contract are true (Sporting having to pay Bruno 5m if they reject a bid over 30m for him) then I reckon there are a few clubs waiting around to submit a last minute low-ball bid. Kind of like buying a player on ebay.

I'd rather sign just Maguire, sell Lukaku and replace him with cash and Mandzukic and finish our transfer our transfers then bring in Bruno Fernandes. Said it from day 1, he is not suited to us, have big doubts if hes suited to the premier league, he's not what we need to balance out our midfield/attack, and there's doubts if hes good enough anyway. I said it before but I think it'd be far more likely he flops at United if he did come. Glad it was just Nico Gaitan v2.

Looks like he isn't on our radar after all, why would we want someone who can assist goals and score goals. Our forward line is obviously going to bag 40-50 goals between them. Midfield is overrated. Just let Harry run right through with the ball.

Rather than endlessly talk about a transfer that's not going to happen, is anyone watching the game? How's he doing?

That doesn't effect my post at all :)

Using that Example it does.

We didn't score enough goals WITH Lukaku last season. How we figure we will without a replacement I'm not sure. Greenwood obviously isn't going to score 25 goals.
  • Greenwood 10-15 at a push in all competitions
  • Rashford 20 in all competitions
  • Martial 20 in all competitions
  • Lingard 10 in all competitions
  • Pogba 10-15 in all competitions
  • Rest of the team gets ~30-40 in all competitions
Brings it to a bit over 100 goals in all competitions, basically the same numbers Chelsea and Arsenal had last year. Our problem last year was our defence was mid table while our attack was pretty much the same as Chelsea/Arsenal/Spurs level.

Bruno Fernandes is barely a midfielder, he's just a classic #10 and most of his productivity came from shots from range against shite keepers or from being in loads of space. His stats last season are a pretty classic case of not being sustainable or transferable to a much more difficult league (like how Memphis failed to perform in the prem).

Where the feck did this number pop out of?

You dont think its possible that Rashford and Martial, finally in important roles and more attacking roles to enter the season can score 20 in all competitions? Between the Europa league, league cup, fa cup and league, I dont think theyll have much problem reaching that. Greenwood getting over 10 is very possible as well IMO. He gets loads of chances whenever he plays and will probably start every cup game.

Those aren't crazy totals. Those are the same totals that Chelsea and Arsenal had across all competitions last season, and in the league, we had basically the same attacking numbers as them (in fact pretty sure we had better underlying attacking statistics then them anyway).

I'm beginning to like this new United. We're not just diving in there to go and get the new flavour of the month and not succumbing to OTT wage demands from players and agents. Long may it continue.

Maybe, but I am seriously worried about where the goals are going to come from. Also, not talking about Bruno here, if the midfield we have will protect our back four. That has been the crux of most of our problems for a little while. DDG rescued us for years, our back four has been under attack for years.

To get a total of 100 across all competitions? We're in the Europa league remember. Both Arsenal and Chelsea scored over 100 goals last year and we had better underlying statistics then they did in the premier league last year.

Finally someone who sees sense!!

I hope you’re right but I think you’re very optimistic with them numbers. I’ll have some of what you’ve been smoking!

 No! You're kidding!

Good one!

So we have confirmed that we don’t want a player, who we have never wanted, and no one else across Europe seems to want either?

Big deal.

Martial has come close once, in his first season

Other than that, neither player has shown a likelihood to hit 20 goals

Maybe they can improve this season but we've been asking that for a long time

For us to compete Rashford and Martial need to score 20 goals each. Rashford struggles to get ten as he does not have the guile at the moment to not just shoot on sight at every opportunity. We also do not have a prolific freekick taker.

Just ignore him, it's either his time of the month or he's sat on a bridge somewhere downing a bottle of JD

I agree, just saying that Bruno isnt a player to balance us at all. As for the goals, I think what we have will step up and with a better back 4 itll help. Midfield balance is my main concern though.

I particularly like how the rest of the team gets 40 goals. We will be lucky if one of rest managed 5 goals. Sanchez got 1 league goal last year!

I don't know how people can get worked up about a player we were never interested in . We haven't missed out as we were never in .

This is what happens when you pay attention to stupid fake ITKs and bs Twitter accounts trying to out guess the others

You're being a negative depressing arse in every thread you venture into

That's the mood elicited by the way the club continually operates

I don't think anything unreasonable has been said by me and many posters are agreeing

I don't see why you need to have a pop at me personally
