Bruno Fernandes | United not interested due to doubts over passing ability

Bit of a cry baby this one isn't he? :D

All jokes aside, I am still holding out hope that we can land him before the windows shuts.

Pure delusion probably, but it is what's keeping me going at this stage...

BDC back in 12/13 was voted president and practically resurrected the club. We started competing and challenging for the title and the other big 2 were worried because they saw Sporting could not be bullied again. We stop Benfica coach dominated Portugal in 15/16 and we were slowly but surely moving forward. Players were not leaving for peanuts anymore etc. BDC made Sporting get the respect it deserved.

After the attacks on our academy the media and people inside they club did all they could to remove BDC from presidency especially the team doctor (now the Sporting president). BDC was effectively removed as well as being removed as a Socio (member) of the club. Varandas was then Voted President in September which 71% of fans voted for. I promise you Varandas will not last as President of thus club. We have effectively took 3 steps back. He ran Nani out of the club he refuses to sack a coach who has no business coaching and this is only the beginning.

My lowest point as a Sporting fan was 12/13 where we finished 7th place. I never thought I would feel that feeling again until today.

Absolute joke where my club has fallen too again. We return to being the joke to Benfica and Porto.
Don't sweat it bro, all clubs have their troughs as well as peaks, you'll be back no problem. If it makes you feel any better, Sporting has always been my favourite Iberian team.

Out of interest, if United had just lost 5-0 to City in a cup final and were in turmoil for various reasons (such as political issues in management, fans attacking the players and players looking to leave) would it make you feel better if a random guy on the internet said United are his favourite English team? :D

To be fair, there are a few similarities between Sporting and United at this moment in time in regards to their trajectory and decline, but just on a different level. We at least have the resource to hopefully get us out of the current mess we're in.

Of course not!

Still d-mob about unconfirmed new incomings?!:wenger:

Hours later and I still feel like utter shite.

I will be back in Lisbon in a weeks time and despite everything I will be there as always for the next 3 league games. Football truly is like a religion bloody hell.

Lastly I truly want to just say thanks to the lot of you who took there time to attempt to cheer me up as well as dealing with my rants:lol: you guys are awesome and this is why this is the best forum on the internet! I still would love to go to a game at Old Trafford so hopefully sooner rather than later!

So far this preseason he’s shown us he can cry really well, look a lil ugly like Suarez and play to impress Klopp. Anything else I’m missing?

Ronaldo was a cry-baby too, but that could mean the players cares a ton for the club and what happens on the pitch. From what I have seen of Bruno, he gives his all when he is on pitch, so that's a good thing.

United are hesitating to make an offer because after scouting him for months, they feel he’s too slow on the ball and too wasteful in possesion. While the rest of us, who have hardly seen him play, think he’s fantastic.

Edit: This he could work on of course, if he follow Nani’s advice and work a bit harder. Meanwhile, someone seems desperate to get rid of him now, making huge money on the hype.

Hope we get him. This is the one I really want. We cannot rely on Lingard and Mata as regular starters.

Bruno this Bruno that. Is this guy actually any good? And are you guys even interested in him. Because sporting seem to be gagging to sell him and no one seems interested. Rather than fixating on his goals, perhaps you guys should look closely at why his not in demand apart from UTD and spurs and even that is debatable

We need to add another creative player as our midfield is so poor. We witnessed a poor midfield display against Milan, we are severely lacking there, we cannot just rely on pogba.

I'd rather see James Rodriguez come for the reported 40 million, than Bruno Fernandes for more. James has actually shown he can score and assist in the major leagues, even though he did not manage to get an regular starting lineup spot at Madrid and Bayern. We are way off the quality of players at those teams, so he faces much less competition for playing time at us.

If we look at goal involvements per 90 League minutes, at Bayern James managed this in the last seaons: 11 in 1139 minutes (Bayern), 18 in 1623 minutes (Bayern), 16 in 1181 (Madrid), 15 in 1517 (Madrid), 26 in 2292 (Madrid). He is technically superb and manages himself in tight spaces well. Also good in flicks towards running players. Besides that, he also has a great shot. I think he would be a great CAM for us. And I forgot to mention he also is good at set pieces, which we have been lacking for some time as well.

Bruno Fernandes had a great season past season in a league that is not very strong. He actually played 4 seasons in the Serie A before returning to Portugal 2 years ago and Udinese and Sampdoria both let him go as he did not manage to become a starter for them. Sure, he probably has grown a bit since then, but I doubt if it will be enough. Besides that, he racks in a very high amount of yellow cards dispite being at a dominant team in a weak league. I am not sure how that will pann out if he comes to the Premier League where the pressure is much higher.

Paddy doesn't allow me to stick more than £25 on Bruno staying at Sporting

Plan was an easy £150 on it.

This summarises the problem with our window. Mata, Lingard and Matic are not good enough and will let us down time and again through the season.

We are guaranteed to have at least one, but more likely two and occasionally all three of these guys starting games for us. This is a big issue.

Matic won't play much, I think all of our other options will be ahead of him in the pecking order.

I wish I had your confidence, but I can't see Matic being anything but a regular starter.

Yeah, the biggest issue has been that our so called experienced veterans have been the most disappointing. Until these guys are booted out, we won't get anywhere.

Being only as strong as your weakest player springs to mind and for years now, our weakest player (starters) have been no way near good enough.

If we go in for James we won’t get him for 40m, plus he has been thoroughly underwhelming at real and Bayern.

Can’t see him coming to a faster league and playing in a pressing team. Likes to wander around and is not a pressing player at all. We would have to carry him, and he really isn’t special enough for that

No, that's their offer on Pogba.
Right, you think Madrid will sell their player to United for only 36 mil pounds when they want Pogba or even without pogba.

Based on their offer, they either value pogba at only 63 mil (36 mil pounds for James + 27) or they Value James at over 80 mil (to meet our 100+ mil valuation for pogba).

In any case, have no Idea why you think they'd sell him for 36 mil pounds to United.

If this deal goes through, can we ban every single person who has said "Looks like Di Marzio is wrong on this one" or "Di Marzio has been shit all summer" from the transfer forum?
