Sums it up perfectly. Shows how far our ambitions have sunk if we are seriously considering going into the season with the MF options we have.. The club needs to make a statement this window showing our intention to get back to the top 4 and then push on from there. Otherwise keeping Pogba and attracting top players will be a pipedream. With Arsenal/Chelsea both having problems in this window its make or break time tbh. Getting a Pogba backup of SMS or Fernandes seems a no brainer not only because he will likely leave next year but we are generally crap without him pulling the strings. One match against PSG does not disprove that..

We should be in for him anyway we need to replace Herrera who was one of our regular first XI players.

Look I think it's fair enough if we allow a youngster to take Herrera's squad place, Gomes could be that man maybe. But Bruno is better further forward and can also cover that role. We should be letting another of our myriad squad players go to make room. I think Mata and Pereira are the obvious ones but even Lingard should be at risk as, although he fits the style we want to play, he's just not productive enough.

Mata has just had his contract extended he isn't leaving anytime soon but i wouldn't be against him replacing Pereira.
 
Bruno over Pereira would be a massive massive improvement in our midfield, can't afford to rely on Pogba alone.

It doesnt seem to hamper other teams who buy better players than they have, regardless of profile.

This was my favorite play fo his the whole game as it showed his workmate and tenacity to get back and make a tackle no one else was going to make. All traits I explained that he had.

The itself goal was more down to Mingolet than Fernandes.

I'm still waiting to see something that makes me think he's a top PL player waiting to make his mark on the league. The assist was nice, but that's about it.

Blaming the club for not knowing what players to sell, and similar to what Liverpool/Spurs have done when agents trying to draw up fake interest, come out and deny it (Liverpool have done so with Coutinho/Pepe/Fernandes, Spurs have done with Fernandes), just saves the media circus but United just get led along constantly (Ramos/Fernandes/Pepe/Fabregas/Kroos), allow players to drum up interest for new contracts or to hike up the price.

If we are not interested fair enough but put a stop to it don't just let your name be used for other peoples gain.

Also, blaming the club for the lack of signings, lack of departures and saying the fans won't be happy come the first game, does sound about right.

Agree with you point in bold but I think the club knows which players need selling but Woody has given them such high wages that it will be hard to offload them as no-one else is stupid enough to pay what we do.

Don't think Mata should have been handed his new contract. I think that was a mistake by the club and also a show by the club that we don't intend on recruiting in that area which is terrible by Woody.
 
Seems like we aren't going to pursue this one. His type is what we need, so I'm hoping we've someone else lined up.

The only problem id that if we do have someone else lined up the selling club is going to ask even higher prices towards the end of the window as they know we will be desperate. Fecking shambles by Woody:annoyed:

Yeah mate, we could be saved by some of the kids coming through, at this point I would take Maguire and a DMC, say Longstaff and move on.

Promote Gomes, Greenwood at least to the 1st team squad and if we can get rid of Rojo, Darmian, Lukaku by the end of the window then will take it.

Can't see Bailly being sold now he has been injured and unfortunately I think Jones/Smalling will be around for a few years longer.

  3. He could be GREAT in this league
  4. Nobody else is in for him

I think its good that the youngsters are coming through which a massive positive this summer but I think Woody is banking on them all coming good which may or may not happen and I feel it's unfair to put too much pressure on them on their first proper season in the league.

I agree about the players you said to get rid of but we pay stupidly high wages which I think is Woody's only recruitment tactic that other teams won't want to pay the stupid wages we currently pay. Smalling and Jones should never have been given those contract extensions for such lengths in my opinion.

Think we really need to give Gomes a lot of minutes this year as it's his final year and Barca will come circling in the summer. It's ludicrous that we let his contract run into the final year. We should do whatever we can to keep him as I would hate to see him realise his potential somewhere else. :mad:

We're just fans, right. We're not deeply involved in transfers and shit. We don't know what we're talking about. Can you maybe tell me why. I need a reason. WHY are we not all over him (apparently). WHY is he not already a United player? I need to understand this.

Can he play with Pogba in the same team? If "no", then that is reason enough to understand our supposed lack of interest.

We can all see the areas of the team that need strengthening and either Woody can't or just plain doesn't give a feck which I think is more likely:mad:

Either they don't rate him or they don't have any money. They're wrong if they don't rate him, but also you definitely don't NEED to know WHY, clubs don't buy good players all the time, stop being so dramatic.

But he wouldn't just not give a feck! I'm 100% convinced he wants the team to do well. It is directly related to sponsorship. We need to maintain a decent enough record. So, maybe he just thinks we are good enough, right? He'll probably never get such an easy run at an excellent player. Look, this is just conjecture. I don't know what the hell is going on. But it just blows my feeble little mind.

I disagree. I need to know why. Most fans do. We got a "why" when we didn't sign Hazard and many others.

As for me being dramatic - I don't deny it. I feel pretty damn dramatic at this moment. Because I cannot understand how a rich club in need of quality players don't go for said quality players. I happen to support this club. So, I am involved.

Also, it's been a shit day.

I think you may be right on the part in bold as that is what I have stated several times when it's painfully clear the squad is not good enough yet although this may change in the next two weeks, which is something I seriously doubt.
 
We got rid of our two best midfielders and are now left very weak with the dross and that includes pogba. Apart from mctom the rest don't have speed, drive or know-how.
It will be criminal if man utd don't get at least one decent midfielder and Bruno would fit the bill . Preferably a second strong midfielder would be better. Apart from mctom no other midfielder is good enough.

The manager and/or the board decided not to sign him. That simple.

Whether you think it makes sense or not is irrelevant because you're not in charge.

I think we should sign him but I've actually seen very, very little of him so I'm probably not a reliable scout for whether he'd help the team or not, either way there's absolutely feck all we as fans can do about his signing whether we like it or not. We don't have any sources in the media and even the sources in the media that are supposed to be reliable actually know feck all too so none of us know.

Just feel that transfer window season brings out the absolute worst in everyone and if we removed ourselves from it given we've got no choice in any matter then we'd be better off for it. Just wait until the window shuts and see where we are and then complain if we haven't strengthened where we need to.
