Clearly been told to be less maverick and more productive by Amorim. We're seeing far less of him bombing round the field out of position and also less of the crazy passes from stupid places on the field. I also don't think I've seen him hang on to the ball in our half yet either, no Cruyff style turns or risks are being taken.

I really like this Bruno.
1st half yes, second half I swear he was making up for lost time.

Hes going to need replacing in the summer I think, we need a better CM than him, and we need a better no10/inside forward than him
Fortunately for him maybe Mount is utterly useless and should be sold first

Just ignore the circle jerk from the usual suspects every time he puts in less than an 8 out of 10 performance.

I think he can probably play the role he played today against most teams in the league. But Ugarte needs more physical presence beside him against a big, strong team like Arsenal. And when we beef up midfield Bruno could play as one of the two 10s. I hope Mainoo can develop into that midfielder we need because otherwise we need to invest.
8/10 performance? You go a long way back to find many. 4 years.

Our most productive players for years now and yet one of the most 'hated' players in a good while. Really strange thing to behold.

Think that his game against Arsenal summarize Bruno.

He's been told to be structured, simple and keep his place. It shows that he can do it, but once we conceded and started to stress and be less organized he was a bit everywhere and was useless.

Someone with lots of time on their hands should scrape posts from the forum and make a quiz called "Bruno or Donny?". The objective is to determine whether a post describes Bruno or Donny van de Beek. Player name and time/match reference should be censored obviously.

It would be an impossible quiz

Lost his head in the second half and as usual his game went too.

The way he's played previously shows that Amorim is more on top of this than ten Hag ever was.

Yeah, was impressed with his first half. It showed discipline and I remember he was similar when he made his debut for us (he played a deeper role). I think behind the striker could work but hes more focused on trying the killer ball there. If he could somehow resist that urge, he could do well behind the striker. But he does also have this knack of trying to put it into space rather than passing it to feet.

Weird that Amad and Mazraoui aren’t even nominated?!

Only 8 nominees for the whole league though. Can you imagine the outrage if we got 3 nominees despite being in 13th place?

Maz has clearly had a better season, but I think Bruno is our best player for November specifically.

Presumably Amad ruled out because he didn’t feature enough?

Pleased for Bruno though. Hell of an achievement to get that nomination despite not producing any 8/10 performances.

You could achieve a high score on the quiz if you look for anger in the Bruno posts and apathy in the Donny posts.

Take the poster replying to Pogue, for instance - would he (or anyone) be this pissed off with Van de Beek?
Guy has been consistent garbage three years straight. He has four or five Stan’s here for sure but majority see through him.
No one cared enough about Donny to resent him in the same way as certain people who froth at the mouth over our best post-Fergie signing.

Man Utd 2:3 Nottingham Forest New
Fantastic goal (and that pass to Amad in the build up was beautiful). Less said about the rest the better

Apart from their second goal (which is still 90% on Onana), I thought that he was decent enough. We looked absolutely clueless when he came off.

Unfortunately even when he is awful he is still out best creative outlet. We need to add proper competition for him.

Amorim's success is going to be defined by how quickly he realises that Bruno is not that guy. Nobody denies that he can score the occasional really nice goal or provide the occasional really nice assist but huge segments of the fanbase seem oblivious to the fact that he's just bad outside of those two things

Scored a good goal, but that stupid pass for 2nd goal basically killed the team. Too much bad offsetting any good, same pattern as always

Shite, but one of our only players actually capable of creating anything.
Maybe it's time we stop relying on Bruno and try to develop a solid system to create consistent chances no? Mount is a downgrade, though, that's for sure

This will be a strange thing to say but he tends to get lazy in certain areas of his game. Stuff like not bothering to set himself up to pass the ball properly, as we see from the goal. It happens almost every game. We paid the price for it today.

Oh no I agree definitely. Just gonna be a rough transition.

serious conversation needed, one of the most inconsistent Captain in my lifetime, totally give Forest the momentum after his mistake. Everytime he's having a stinker the team performance affected.

He does combine well with Amad, which is a good thing, but you can count on at least a handful of absolutely brainless loss-of-possessions every game. And every so often, those idiotic moments will prove very costly. And how the feck is he still on set-piece duty? The only criticism I have of Amorim is that he hasn't taken proactive action in that regard.

Nah mate he had a bad game. Its his first in a while and he even managed to score despite it, but today was really not good overall. Gave the ball away to much in very dangerous positions, and it was mostly because of him trying to be clever with the pass instead of taking the safe route. I think him getting taken off was a great call and might help him refocus for next match. We need him precisely for the reason you describe.

He’s been like a drug to which Ole and ETH got addicted since he produced the moments, sacrificing the development and structure of the team.

Why always the brainless, risky option? Why? If he plays it down the line to Amad here, it is a foward pass, Amad is free, Yoro's forward run is still in play. It's just a routine, sensible football pass. If he plays that ball to Amad and even if Amad loses possession, we are still in position to defend.

He plays a stupid, outside of the foot pass and absolutely fecks us, they are in straight away. I don't care if Onana was absolutely wank for the goal, Bruno is the one who set up the shooting chance on the edge of our box.

With Bruno we play hectic football. Without Bruno we don't play at all.

Like it or not but he is our most important player.

There is a lot more to fix than kicking Bruno out of the team. This team has absolutely no clue how to attack without Bruno. If we want to upgrade him, we need someone of the quality of Odegaard or KDB come in. Those are not easy to find.

We looked so much more fluid without him. Everybody wanting the ball and showing character and thw courage to make a mistake.

Oh no, we looked like a team of cowards shitting themselves and looking for Bruno

Was a lot better today imo.

Two options: one is to proceed endlessly with the hectic football (see Ole and ETH) or go through the pains of learning to play in a more cohesive manner also by bringing someone who’s more suited than Bruno to play possession based football.

Would be if we want to maintain that sort of structure. But who exactly wants that?

That being said, I thought, he wasn't bad today, mostly on par with usual performance. Very mixed though, since he was involved in both goals. Don't think he played a particularly prominent role in todays defeat although it didn't help, that I felt he got aggrevated as early as the 10th minute. Thats never good for his game.

Bruno gets constantly slagged off but without him we're about as threatening as balloon sword.

He could be having the worst game and suddenly snap into life. 3-1 down he does something and we get back to 3-2. Just for that he should have stayed on.

Its not like we were amazing with him on the pitch but, with him, you feel like something could happen. As soon as he went off I was resigned to defeat. Players looked like it too.
