Capable of absolutely brilliant phase of play and then cant hit a 2 feet pass.

He is highly regarded by opposition fans because they see those highlights reel. As 90 min player, he is woefully inconsistent

Two options: one is to proceed endlessly with the hectic football (see Ole and ETH) or go through the pains of learning to play in a more cohesive manner also by bringing someone who’s more suited than Bruno to play possession based football.
Or just give him time to adapt to new style. He is quality player and better than any other our player.

Random Bruno. Nobody knows what he'll do, he might be Socrates at one time, and sometimes Stewart Downing.

Roll the dice next week, in hope this time he's Deco.

King of misplaced passes. Never seen a player so wasteful in me life...and he's supposed to be a technical player.

Why always the brainless, risky option? Why? If he plays it down the line to Amad here, it is a foward pass, Amad is free, Yoro's forward run is still in play. It's just a routine, sensible football pass. If he plays that ball to Amad and even if Amad loses possession, we are still in position to defend.

He plays a stupid, outside of the foot pass and absolutely fecks us, they are in straight away. I don't care if Onana was absolutely wank for the goal, Bruno is the one who set up the shooting chance on the edge of our box.
The technique bothers me a lot more than the choice of pass as its very unnecessary, but I think Yoro is wrong for storming forward there instead of providing a clear(er) backpass-option.

There is no inherent position for Bruno Fernandes in this system. As I say, he’ll continue to oscillate between wide no.10 and CM and do an okay-ish job when it comes to chance creation and pulling something out of the hat every now and again, but he’s just a square peg in a round hole

You bring him off for supposedly good linkup players in Mount and Zirkzee and you lose any attacking urgency through the middle, as the aforementioned subs are doing their usual hiding job or failing to make any progressive passes.

Because of his lack of technique he gets himself into a situation where he has to do a stupid ball forward, so he has no choice.

Your best player can't have flaws like this.

We are going nowhere with him. He's not won anything major here or with Portugal.

Excellent counter attacking player. Slightly above average player in any other setup.

Faking injuries destroying momentum and throwing hissy fits after he has misplaced easy pass while being 3-1 down, he's actually the worst captain material you can find.

such a volatile quality to his football. We simply can’t afford to have him leading us in any attempt to becoming a top team. We need a captain that’s consistent in their football and therefore lead by example. It’s a shame really. Because he’s a very good player just not the one to lead us into a period of success.

To summarise if you couldn’t watch

Good goal but outside of that he was terrible. Miss place pass. Hit first man. Miss place pass. Weak in the challenge. Miss place pass. Gift them opportunity for second goal. Hit first man. Miss place pass. Wave arms about. Cry when tackled. Miss place pass. Hit first man. Cry a bit more. Miss place pass

I’m done with him as of now.

Has been coming for quite some time now. And don’t get me wrong, I really like the guy. He has so many things going for him in terms of being captain of the club, but all too often it just falls apart on matchdays.

He’s an instinctive player, and part of his instinct is to take chances. It has let to some absolutely wonderful goals and assists. But for me, it’s time to move on.

We, as a team, have been haunted for years with giving away cheap goals because of sloppy play and bad structure. He as a captain hasn’t done his part in making sure we aren’t making silly mistakes.

Right now, he’s one of few constants in a constantly underperforming team. I think it’s time to roll the dice, and start looking for a new main man.

It wont solve all our problems alone, but it has to be part of Rubens rebuild to find a new creative outlet.

A moment when the two captains went up for a header and Bruno ends up on the floor clutching his head before waving his arms at the ref for protection/free kick…I immediately thought of Roy Keane. Night and day

Thank you!

It is staring people right in the face and they just refuse to see it, he is the Moments FC poster child. Nothing consistent will ever be achieved with him as captain or as a main focal point for this team.

Hes a counter attacking player. He excels at having space around the middle of the pitch with us on a counter so he can play the ball to garnacho or rashford (who also are counter attacking players).

But very poor technique when its tight. Gave a two yard pass away to yoro today for the second goal by forest.

It's not just him, though. Him, Rashford, Casemiro, Dalot, Shaw, Mount, Eriksen... they all have got to go. We need a new rebuild and it's time to start it now. I'd rather start from scratch that continue with this rotten foundation

Say what you want about Bruno but the moment he left the field our chances of getting that game back died.

Sick to death of him losing possession in key areas though, just ridiculous how many times it happens.

Yea i concur.

Atleast we stopped conceding goals once we went off. He is a vector for counter attacks by opposition.

Should we try him as a false 9 again? At least it would keep it as far away from our own box as possible.

No, he's not.

I don't rate him and he's a walking contradiction.

I hate his diving, faking and complaining antics...his body language sucks.

Yet he runs more than anyone on the pitch and when he doesn't play we're lost.

He plays too much, yet we can't afford to have him NOT play

The amount of times he plays a 5yard pass behind a teammate who’s running forward, is ridiculous. No strong enough personality in the team to give him the constant bollocking he needs. He’d never get away with his sloppiness in any of our previous successful teams.

It's uncommon for a player to be so inconsistent in their performance within a single game. With someone like Nani, you’d get a world-class performance in one match and then a poor one in the next. But with Bruno, it’s different—he can be both brilliant and frustratingly poor in the same game. Such a peculiar player!

Extremely careless with the ball. If we are a serious team this season should be his last as a nailed on starter. His technical inconsistency is baffling. All in all he can't, can't be a starting midfielder next season. Amorim needs to be ruthless.
