After that performance from Bruno I did wonder what would be used as 'evidence' against Bruno today on the CAF.

Crazy that the yellow card is being talked about, with no mention of how Bruno managed to navigate Andy Madley's desperation to card us more after that. Especially when he needed to help us keep Arsenal out for an hour with 10 men.

But I guess Bruno is the problem...

In addition to those stats and his stunning goal, I also feel like he probably covered more ground than any other player on the pitch.

Showed a lot of leadership out there today. Fans wanting him sold have zero ball knowledge. He is by far our best player, needs to be surrounded with more quality.

Another goal (and a great one it was), very important first penalty in the shoot-out, and was a leader. Strong performance

An amazing finish tonight. When you consider how starved we are of goals, those are a rarity. It looks like he has hit form just when we need him the most with some decent fixtures coming up. And his workrate can never be questioned. I wish we had him, Mount and Amad just hounding the opposition for at least one game.

Great finish that, he must have got an absolute bollocking after that Wolves game because he's screwed his head back on. Don't blame him for the yellow, my reaction back home probably warranted a yellow so can't imagine how beyond seething he must have been.

Happy to see Bruno showing character after the Wolves debacle. He has been playing amazing. United's driving force for a rest of a good season if he keeps it up.

Great performance, but needless yellow (he was of course fouled). Needs to learn from his red cards this season that we need him on pitch.

Nah feck it, it's worth the yellow some times to make it clear to the ref that he made a travesty of a decision. We need to be bigger cnuts sometimes and put refs under pressure for shit like that.

Awesome in a controlled system where he doesn't have to spam hail Mary passes.

Just like Portugal, I believe he will be better if forward line is improved

I feel like we're seeing the Bruno that plays for Portugal lately. Much more composed, better decision making, doesn't look for the 5% chance killer ball every time.

His last two performances have been brilliant. I think he was MoTM again today, with Maguire and De Ligt right behind him.

We, as a fan base, have often critiqued his big game performances, but today vs Arsenal he was really good, and I think last weekend at Anfield was his best performance in a United shirt.

What's notable since Amorim has come in is his increased positional discipline and he is taking that extre half second on the ball. Usually you'd say that's a bad thing, but for Bruno it's what many of us have wanted and I think Amorim is bringing out the best of him at the moment.

Maybe he's now entering his peak years with some much needed maturity on the pitch, bar that episode today. Think Amorim's words on leadership hit home for the likes of him, Maguire etc.

People have tried this before where he has been compared to similar players, but somehow people don't want to change their opinion. Bruno's isn't disposessed more than similar players; his passing isn't more erratic, and he doesn't lose every tackle he engages in, like some would argue. According to stats, he's a very good and expansive passer; he works his socks off every game, wins the ball back more than players in a similar position and manages to come up with similar or better stats for goals and assists whilst playing in a far inferior team.

Stats are funny though - some years back posters argued that Carrick only had a high passing completion rate because all of his passes were sideways or backwards, but I think stats showed he played more forward passes than Xavi - not arguing he was a more expansive passer than Xavi, but still. People still won't change their mind.

The eye test would confirm that Bruno is a very good passer - he is a very expansive passer; some of those don't come off, sometimes due to a poor pass, but also sometimes due to a misunderstanding or sometimes down to a terrible run and decision making from a teammate.

Anyone arguing he doesn't work hard are taking the piss, but they do exist. Bruno regularly covers the most distance, and also regularly he wins the ball back deep into his own half. He's not great at defending, but sometimes just being there and getting a toe to the ball is enough to disrupt the flow from the attacking team.

He's a brilliant player, and in a better team where other players than him create more chances and manage to score, he would have even greater numbers, and he probably wouldn't have the responsibility of having to create everything for the team. United are currently quite useless without him.
Another great game by him today. He ran his socks off

Kind if agree, but didn't work today did it... refbkept dishing out cards like it was still Xmas *Dalot's were deserved though.

Just think Bruno could have made his point without giving ref no choice. Anyway worked out well in the end!!

Yeah, I can't be the only one who thought he was heading for another red. Credit to him though, reigned it in, channelled it and put it a second leader's performance on the trot. If it's fair to give the captain shit when we're all over the gaff, he has to get massive credit for leading 2 huge, passionate, heart filled team performances like the last 2 weeks. Good on him.

I agree with this, my biggest issue with him has always been that he never played well in big games - he almost said as much himself after the Liverpool game that he needed a big performance. He’s been excellent the last 2 weeks. Hopefully he will keep up that level or close to it for the rest of the season

World class finish, some people might think it was a simple chance but if you look at it properly he had to bend that around the defender. Bruno's gotta keep it up, been brilliant the last 2 games against top opposition
The finish was definitely exquisite. An absolute peach from a difficult position.

This is one of the games im citing when the anti bruno brigade lose their shit when bruno complains to mainoo for a misplaced pass again, or when he raises his arms and rolleyes to the ref
Why because he did throw a tantrum because he didn't get a call? Its obviously understandable getting as aggrevated as he was but the extent and length of the tantrum was a bit off. In my personal opinion at least. I was worried, that this will be start of another heads-gone performance but this time he managed to reign it in. Especially in 2nd half. Haven't expected him to do that, especially since the ref did so much to raise the frustration levels. And if it raised mine, the players must have been in the red zone for most of the game. So very very well done to him!

Think he epitomises United’s coverage in the media. When he’s sub par it’s blown way over the top and yet when he puts in displays like today and Liverpool nobody seems to mention it.
He was singled out for the Liverpool game a lot, so that part doesn't really fit. Today, he had a good game, with no obvious mistakes but with a fantastic finish and a showing of containing himself and his temperament. I think, the performance against Liverpool was way better, todays views (also visible in the ratings) are very much influenced by the outcome of the match. I don't think, any team played particularly well but given the conditions, being away from home and with 10 man for such a long time, we did very well based on that.

He’s also the captain. Literally the only player on our team who is allowed to talk to the referee. If he doesn’t complain then nobody else will. And it was a shocking performance by the ref.

So mental - yet predictable - that some fans use that as a reason to have a go at Bruno.
Pretty sure the mentions of that piece of play wasn't because he shouldn't talk to the ref but because he shouldn't throw a tantrum. Whether you think it is understandable or not, I would agree to you, doesn't matter because we had to deal with this bad ref and with this rather stupid yellow he had to walk a thin line for quite a long time. Which he did so well today - but we've seen it play out differently as well. If he had to make a last ditch tackle and then walk down the tunnel, we'd be at 9 men. So while the scene in this particular match wasn't an issue, even a reason to praise him for the level of containment he showed, the behaviour is not ideal.

Yeah, I can't be the only one who thought he was heading for another red. Credit to him though, reigned it in, channelled it and put it a second leader's performance on the trot. Definitely. Completely agree. Another reason to believe that we are seeing the beginning of a trend, which would be aweseome for whole team.

When he plays well, the team plays well. Very important player for us in my opinion. Hopefully this good run continues.

Before the 2 previous games I mentioned that for all his attacking abilities, he isnt a decent dribbler and hasnt improved on it since he came to United. Sometimes he wouldnt even move the ball when confronted with a defender who would just take it it from him

These past 2 games he's had a couple of nice dribbles and shown clear improvement in that area. Against Arsenal he had 4 dribbles. Very unlike him but nice to see him still adding things and improving areas that werent strengths before.

A lot of Bruno’s changes in style of play would be due to Amorim’s coaching team too. I feel they don’t get enough credit.

More and more I am of the firm believe Bruno was playing as the manager asked of him, ie the Hollywood spamming was something ETH wanted.
He is completely different now under Amorim and definately world class against both Liverpool and yesterday. Both matches against big teams, where he had massive issues under Ten Hag.

A great player meets a great manager and great things happen...who would have thought it!

18 G&A in 29 games this season. Some are talking about selling him. We will be relegation fodder if he had left at the start of the season.

Another great performance from him today, seemed to be all over the pitch, energy levels are incredible, long may it continue.

Yeah i think this is really what makes the difference in his performance. And kudos to Amorim for making this happen

It's becoming clearer and clearer that Bruno does what the manager says. Bruno playing for Ole, ETH, Amorim and even Portugal look like 4 different players.

And that is why I always found the notion of Bruno being a one-note player/specialist/luxury player (or whatever you wanna call it) hilarious.

2 big performances in 2 big away games. What a performance, what a goal as well.

We are quick to criticize Bruno but last few games he has been brilliant, he has shown maturity.

The one thing we know Bruno will do is give it his all, he played LAM, LCM and DM in that game and he gave it his all in all 3 positions.

Always said he'd be a much better and much more effective player if he played with more composure and control. The last two weeks he's been excellent, love it when he plays like this.

That finish for the goal was just superb, to hit it with that power and swerve on the run, just unstoppable. The angle from behind the goal in slow motion is lovely to watch.

Think the midfield 4 are understanding their roles now - with Bruno specifically I get the impression he has reigned in his shooting and its benefitting the team a tonne. Could well be wrong but glancing at FBref he's made a remarkable change in attempts since Amorim came in.

If you look at # of shots he's had, the only Amorim game he's been wasteful (7 shots) was Bournemouth which was a shocker - that's actually his most all season - but the next 10+ games are all ETH/Ruud. I feel like he's still getting the ball in similar situations as before but Amorim has definitely calmed him down a bit.

He certainly seems to be a bit more composed the past couple of games, picking the correct option more often than not.

Like I said I hope it’s a new trend and continues on, he’s been fantastic the past couple of games.

Leave off with having a go at people who dared to criticize him. The reason he came under such harsh dissection was because his top level is out of this world, but too often we would see things that just didnt make sense for a top level footballer to even try, he was just so chaotic, and even this season he’s has some shockers. But, like every player, he is coachable, and we are seeing the very best of him recently and it’s up to him to maintain that. He can do things that only world class players can do.

That strike was really satisfying to watch, great technique.

One thing he deseerves credit for, even though he's 30, is that he is still willing to change and adapt his game according to what the manager asks. If he was told to play right back he would. Compared to some players who dont shut up about what their preferred role is, its a good trait.

Great finish yesterday. Ridiculous ref decision which led to his booking too. Good to see him score open play goals against the biggest sides too, something he’s struggled with at times.
