We win nothing big with this guy. Far too erratic

The usual wasteful Bruno performance. Only difference is he didn't score a penalty this time.

Perfect opportunity now to sell him in the summer and rebuild our midfield with the new owners coming in and probably our last chance to get decent money for him from a Saudi club. He should definitely be sold this summer.

He's the poacher of midfield, always wants to make the final pass / shot and do nothing else.

He's at the top end of midfield clearly in front of 2 others and we're a great team for counter attacking football. So theres nothing wrong with his priorities being making a final pass or shoot.

The problem is judgement of when to do each of those things and then executing them perfectly. Too many scuffed shots or picking the wrong option. He can do it, and he does it but its usually in between a couple of things that he should have done a bit better with. Most of the time even if he scores or creates a goal he could have had a bit more if he was a bit more careful and precise

Really poor performance today…..if he’d been just a 5/10 today we’ed have had that 3rd goal and game over.

That cross straight at the goalkeeper at the end when we were defending a one goal lead with a minute to go frustrated me no end. Fernandes is clearly a capable footballer but he really doesn't have a brain. He's our captain and he looked the least capable of managing the game effectively.

Brain dead moment in the extra time passing the ball back to opposition keeper. I think we are seeing the beginning of the end for Bruno at United.

Only overrated on here. Outside of this place, I don't know a single person who thinks much of him.
My experience has been quite the opposite. Everyone who sits near me at Old Trafford rates him as one of our best players. And he gets his name sung more than any other player.

Whereas he gets more stick on the caf than anywhere else I've seen.

He's done that fecking bullshit countless times over the years and it's one of the main things that initially had me fed up with him. He's supposed to be the captain and leader of the squad but those decisions make him look like a greedy teenager trying to make a name for himself. It's fecking embarrassing.

Forget the performance, how could he be so brainless to give the ball away in the last few minutes when we are in the lead.

Where is the experience and leadership that is expected from your captain in such situations.

He’s has his good and bad games in midfield this season but his quality in front of goal has been horrendous for ages now. I don’t know how someone who was so prolific for such a sustained amount of time is now just terrible at goalscoring.

He somehow seems to have got even slower and weaker recently. 50/50? He'll lose it. Ball that isn't directly to feet? Outpaced/outmuscled.

It's become like playing Riquelme with 30% of the technical ability and a lot more willingness to run but ultimately having the same impact in duels (zero).

He needs a Keane behind him. Someone with enough authority to tell him to use his head. The fact that he’s captain makes it incredibly difficult for him to be called out by his much younger team mates.

Pretty accurate description to be honest

Said it a million times. He’s so much better a little further back - he’s simply not good enough when you look at how many shots he takes to goals. Today was a prime example.

He hasn’t had a good game in a long time

He’s generally been shit for a good couple of years now, and he’s getting worse. Don’t think he’s had a sustained period of form since the Covid season. Has the occasional great game where everything he tries comes off and that gives his fanbase something to dine out on, while he then reverts back to dropping his usual 2/10 performances for the next 6 months.

He’s also an intensely dislikable player, who spends most of the game whinging, diving & moaning at his teammates for his own mistakes.

Atrocious first half. Thought he had a much better second half.

I like Bruno but bloody hell he asks the forwards to chase lost causes.

Rashford and Garnacho having to do 50m sprints every 3 minutes, must run them into the ground. Only for them to end up looking lazy for not tracking back afterwards.

Same, I'm with him most of the time, but he had a bit of a shocker today. That little airy fairy left footer into the corner somewhere when Garnaco could otherwise have been through 1v1 was appalling, among other attempts.

A bit of a mixed bag again. It's a shame Mount is constantly injured because it'd be interesting to see if the team would be any better with him in Bruno's role (clutching at straws maybe but a bit of a competition for that spot would be good).

He’s not good at all deeper. His short passing is terrible, he cannot retain the ball under pressure, nor does he have any guile or agility to carry it forward. Outside of his marathon runner lungs and getting in the way to block things, he’s a total nonentity defensively.

He used to be a great no.10 in a counterattacking set up. But it looks like even those traits are deteriorating in front of our eyes.

People keep saying Mount is his replacement, but I think Diallo is the best #10 we have. He needs to be given a chance. His defensive work is better than Bruno's and he is also more creative.

I have said many times, he is one of the players whoose basics as a player is just terrible, very uncultured and mental

I've defended him for such a long time, but I think I'm starting to turn on him. He actually adds panic and chaos to us because of the way he plays; his obsession with Hollywood balls means he loses the ball so frequently and purs us constantly under pressure. And that corner at the end when he looked like he was just going to run the clock down and then kicked the ball back to their keeper... we conceded two more chances!

Disagree and his passing in general is fine. He’s also good at one touch and all the pressing/defensive sides of the game. By putting him a bit deeper you mitigate his Hollywood ball and long range shot involvement.

Remember when he was a matchwinner more than once in about 3 months? Good times.

His lack of quality at doing any basic midfield stuff whatsoever except leading the team on counters is standard stuf. Obviously it will never improve. We were leading 2-0 and were quite comfortable, and there were 4 attacks in a row in which he lost the ball, and we lost any control after that. And people can't understand what's wrong with us.

Maybe he’s played too many games over the last two seasons between Portugal and the World Cup schedule. He looks burnt out. Even so, that ball to their keeper in the final minute is unforgivable at the professional level.

What I saw from Mainoo today are the things I’ve been saying for years that I expect from a top level 10. Put your foot on the ball, even under pressure, turn away and play. Those are the fundamentals of the role. From a David Silva to an Adam Lallana. A number 10 is supposed to be comfortable on the ball under pressure and make good decisions.

What Bruno was good at, creating chances and being clinical in final third, he is now poor at. How many times do we counter and his final pass/shot is crap.
Not to mention how diabolical his positioning is.

I think he was too focused on getting a goal or assist and hence managing the game didn't seem like a priority for him. And I think that's another issue with both Bruno and Rashford is that they seem more concerned with decision making that benefits them as individuals rather than the team. We're in a era where stats are widely thrown about when it comes to scoring goals or creating goals, that I strongly suspect there's players who do make a effort to top up their stats column. And that unfortunately doesn't always work for the team and in the long-term such a mindset will create a dysfunctional aspect in the team.

I said at the start of the season that Bruno playing on the flank with Mason Mount in a attacking midfield position, with Mainoo deeper is what ten Hag is looking to do. I got a bit of flack from certain posters regarding Mainoo who people thought was just brought to preseason to make up the numbers. And the reason Mount was wanted by United along with both Arsenal and Liverpool, was because he's good at receiving the ball with his back to goal, can connect and combine with team mates and is someone whose game is based on connecting with team mates in possession and having the intelligence to apply a strong out of possession in coordination with the rest of the team.
