Wasn't worse than most of the rest but the expectations for him are higher I guess. Really don't think, the captaincy really is something thats doing him any good. Too impulsive to be the one guy who is allowed to talk to the ref.

As with Maguire, its time to start phasing him out. We are going nowhere with this guy as our primary creative force. Total ghost once again in a critical moment.

He wasn’t even bad today but he proves yet again when the level of competition rises he looks inferior from a skill and technique point of view.

He can be the goat against Forest and other middle of the road teams but Brunodoes not have the ability or talent to decide games at the highest level. It’s such a recurring theme now but hey I can’t wait for the statman Dave tweet telling me how many chances he’s created this season. That’s obviously more important.

The biggest flat track bully I’ve seen at the club.

Bruno is the poster boy for me when it comes to proving that the eye test is more important than statistics or any expected goals/assists nonsense.

Invisible vs top teams as always
O Bruno Bruno, wherefore art thou, Bruno?
There he is, in back play, rolling around like a fanny, pretending to be fouled/injured while the opposition are attacking our goal in injury time

Our captain

According to some posters here, he has fantastic technique. Besides, who the feck cares about his overall skill set as long as he can create chances?

Half of his chances created are him just blasting the ball randomly forward when we win the ball back and the opposition are playing a high defensive line and Rashford using his pace to be one-on-one with the keeper

Poor, kept falling over and claiming fouls, I’ve said it before, it’s not just the average players holding us back (like Maguire, Martial etc), it’s also the players we think are great and make everyone’s first 11 like Bruno and Rashford, we’re not winning titles and CLs with these guys, they’re not elite level players.

Hot potato with the ball. Would be nice if he curbed trying to set up a goal every time he touches it no matter where he is on the pitch.

However the thing that annoys me is now he goes down at any challenge, or cries to the ref. Even more annoying when we are losing

He really needs to cut out the play acting. Referees see straight through it and we have to defend attacks a player down a few times every game.

It seems people are finally coming around to what I’ve been saying for at least a couple of years: he’s not a player you can build around and expect to compete with top teams. Far too many weaknesses to compensate for how good he is as a creator, and no coach in the world can make up for that

Just realized only time I saw him for most of the game was when he was crying for a foul. Not a great game

Typical of him. He had an assist and a goal against Forest and was invisible today. In a year or so, they will bring around some stupid stats and it will turn out he was involved in scoring one goal per match
The reality is a bit different though

Yeah, it's just right after the match. In a few days when people have forgotten about it, you'll have posters defending him as if he is a world class player. It's actually surreal how there are so many blind posters simply ignoring everything he does because he creates chances. Well, what about today?

Awful.

Goes missing in a big game again. Sooner we phase him out the better

He’s also 29 next week, if he’s going to up his game to KdB levels then he’s running out of time, otherwise his career will have passed by as a forgettable Utd no 10

Not even close. After memories of his last gash play over 90 minutes dissipate we'll be back to arguing how his numbers alone don't make him our best performer/player over the course of a period. First worldclass player to only get better outside of matchdays.

Yeah, that pointless part of the game where you create threats and assist goals

8 PL assists in 38 games. Very good.

Do you not see what everyone else is saying here or are you just ignoring it? Only creating chances is not good enough to be a midfielder for us. Easy as that.

People will point to the stats but he isn’t good enough. Without directly wishing ill will on him I’d love him to have a small injury for a few weeks and I bet the team would function far better.

Sure but if you're a liability in other areas in the game and you're goal or assist merely acts to compensate what you take away from the team and its arguably a neutral contribution.

"Play shit but get an assist " as the usual standard of contribution, is still shit and I find it bizarre any fan of this club with the standards we all know it takes to succeed, makes that argument.

"Sorry that i killed every attack but one and we lost 3-1, but i got the 1 so we're even" isn't how it works

Last time he was out injured for a period we were utter trash

He's by far our best player. We would be utter shit without him.

Not against competent opposition he isn’t. Gets exposed time and time again. If you can’t see that I can’t help you.

Or we would operate differently without him? The main difference potentially being that we could have a midfield that is more consistent across 90 minutes and is able to control games even a little bit.

It's a team game. He's been surrounded by average players for most of his United career. People criticising him are just insane.

I get so tired of every post match analysis of him being “crap for 85 minutes but created our best chances and got an assist. Classic Bruno!” As if it’s something to be proud of.

You can afford to have a striker that plays poorly but bags goals/assists, but when it’s a midfielder it’s a much bigger issue.

What is Mount going to do? That would be the worst case scenario.

Ensure that we don't lose the ball at every single opportunity for one. Not that Mount is the answer, but Bruno isn't either. Needs replacing next summer, imo, but it won't happen with Glazers and Ten Hag here.

Huge part of the problem.

Depends how you look at it. From managers point of view - not really, manager likes his style and he is basically perfect player for him in that position.

Even though I agree in general, he can be really poor and annoying, but changing Bruno won't solve our problem until we change our style of play.

First goal, jogging back watching it develop, not tracking his man, Eriksen trying to fill in and cover 2 men. Goal goes in, first thing Bruno does is shout at Eriksen like he was blaming him

I’d generally sell our whole midfield and rebuild it if possible so it’s hard just to blame our midfield woes on him but he doesn’t help.

Did Eriksen not have 8 PL assist in 28 games last season?
