Best player today. Not hard given the shit show

but today all the Bruno defenders will be out in full force I expect. But today is exactly the problem.

He’s scored two goals so must have been good right? Wrong

One was a penalty and the other just a bit meh…

but his overall performance and decision making was shit. He must have hit so many lofted passes that turned over possession.

one into Garnacho in the first half.
one into Rashford in the second
one Into AWB in the second

When he doesn’t have time, he just swings a boot through it and hopes that hojlund, Rashford or anyone is running in to it. It’s infuriating. Just keep the fecking ball. Understand the ball you’re about to make is unlikely and recycle the ball. He’s has dumb as they come

Kin ell. Dumb indeed.

Damning with faint praise. Our fans are awful to our players. Even to proper professionals like Bruno.

“One was a pen, the other was just meh.“

Imagine fecking writing this when you’ve seen the shit show the rest of the attacking line produced.
Yeah, all he did was hit the bar, score two goals whilst the rest of our attacking line did absolutely feck all, our midfield was a shambles and our defence was all over the shop again. But hey, Bruno tried a few risky balls in the second half as he desperately tried to get our shite team to do something (had 90% pass completion in this first half).

Bruno was the only one who seemed to care tbh.

He clearly wants us in the CL and feck yeah he was right to try a difficult pass or two in that second half because it looked to me all game that:

a) he was the only one who gave a feck
b) he was the only player even remotely close to looking like a danger for Bournemouth. The rest looked like the could’ve played for a week without scoring.

Absolutely wild take here. He was the only player who did anything the whole first half and nearly had a hattrick this game. He also defended well and had to take the duty of helping with build up play taking it off the center backs because Casemiro is a statue. How many of those lofted balls did he also complete over the top to Rashford/Garnacho/AWB/Dalot only for nothing useful to come from it? Because I remember quite a few. If you are genuinely coming away from the match today with the opinion that he was our problem then you are simply blinded by hate.

Best match in a while. Don’t think he could have done any more today really.

One game in a season where he’s been shite…but perhaps not as shite as he was in Ole’s last season and under Ragnick.

Without Bruno this season, we could've been a lot worse then where we are right now. I am not his fan but be fair with him.

The terrible manager is the main reason.

He was the only one trying. He always gives his all. In a better side he won’t be made captain, and would be better for it. Let him harry and bring moments of chaotic brilliance in the final third with a more stable platform

In a better side with genuine aspiration to compete for highest honours he would be relegated to nothing more than bit part player before being quietly moved along .

Squad player with rotation and competition maybe. We have the two midfield slots behind him to sort out first (Mainoo should also be a rotation player to give him space to develop), and many other gaping holes elsewhere

He’s been frustrating, but perhaps a better manager can bring more focus to his play

We need to first decide what kind of Football needs to played by United to eventually compete for biggest trophies and then bring in the players to make that happen .

As things stand Summer might be only time where we might recoup any significant fee for Bruno So I'll want United to take that opportunity and make a clean break .

We are never proactive with selling players. Way more likely all these players run down their contract and end up leaving on a free or even get one more deal out of this dumb club. Let's see if the new people in charge can make a difference

That’s absolute codswallop, in a better side he’d have miles better protection and miles better options ahead of him & all around him.
He somehow can still look a player even in an ocean of shite like yesterday, stick him in a well functioning team where he doesn’t have several teammates in midfield and defence with worse passing stats than him most weeks and he’d be brilliant.

A bloke who puts up the numbers he does isn't going to look worse in a better team, that's sort of illogical. I think he's got plenty of flaws, and he frustrates me, but he was the saving grace yesterday, in a huge sea of shit.

He’s our best player and by some distance, there’s a bunch of players that simply are nowhere near good enough that should be moved on before Bruno.
You don’t surely think say swapping him for Mount makes us a better team? Cause that’s the likely swap if we sell Bruno. We’ll simply make ourselves weaker.

I say we look at selling the unreliable Shaw, Maguire, Sancho, it’s probably time to move on Varane and if PSG come knocking we have some serious thinking to do there also due to FFP and how much we still need to spend on this squad to improve some extremely poor positions.

We need to massively improve left back, centre back, centre mid, one wing (although Garna, Antony & Diallo could work in a better functioning side if they all are well coached and improve as we hope), and having one centre forward is an absolute joke at such a club. We need to fix all this before we have any chance of competing, so why the funk would we concentrate on a position where we actually have a good player, often working his arse off and often still rising above the ocean of shite to make goal contributions? That’s absolute madness.

LB, CB x 2, CM x 2, CF

Get those other positions sold and fixed and look how Bruno and other do then.

I pretty much doubt United would be weaker if we play Mount in place of Bruno provided Mount stays fit and gets extended run in the team .

And being United's best player when we could end up with our lowest points tally isn't saying much . With him being our creative hub we have struggled to hit even 60 goals in PL regularly and have failed to even get out of Cl group stage even once .

So I would ask you again what exactly are we afraid of if we sell Bruno ,what new depths we could plummet to which we haven't already with him as our main man .

Of all the players who have played this season only Rasmus and the keeper have a lower pass %

So your argument is that we should sell our best player because it may not make us any worse?

I kind of liked Jamie Redknapp's comments yesterday. Yes, Bruno can be frustrating to watch, but he works his butt off, is always available and provides goals and assists. He can improve his overall level, but he is low on our list of problems.

Yesterday's performance was quite good, because he kept things simple and rarely went for the hopeful long balls. Hope to see more of that.

Sorry my bad I should refrain myself from getting dragged into conversation about Bruno it always ends up going in Circles and it has been done to death .

At the end of the day We all are United's Supporters we all want what's best for United , may have different opinions about how to go about it doesn't make any one less right or wrong .

There’s a couple of stupid arguments here.

What are we afraid of? I’m afraid we’ll drop to new level of absolute shitness if we ignore our problem areas and concentrate on selling players that actually contribute.
Do you agree that we’re much worse in position LB, CB, CM and CF than we are in Bruno’s position?

I’ve seen Bryan Robson as our main man finish much lower than this, and plenty of very good players do similar post Fergie. I’ve also seen Bruno in much more functional United sides finish in decent positions and with silverware. The entire argument is bizarre as it pretends one player can lift the ocean of shit that we have seen on pitch this season, when even Robbo or Cantona couldn’t have done anything with this choatic shower of shit.

I’ll also add that is ridiculous to argue our attacking options since Martial’s last good season in 2021 (Bruno was brilliant, Martial was ace, Rashford also thrived off this and we scored 73 goals), have been anything close to the standards required at Manchester United. We’re not scoring less than 60 “because Bruno”, we’re doing that because we have no striker capable of getting even close to 20+ Goals, no backup striker, very very few goals from right wing etc.
We’ve gone seasons with a washed up Ronaldo up top, Weghorst, and now an entire season with an unproven young Højlund. McTominay is our joint top scorer. Yet you appear to be arguing that Mount or a Bruno replacement would make Højlund, Rashford, Antony and co suddenly be a forward line to deliver the goals required of a top team.
Don’t you realise how ridiculous that sounds? No single attacking midfielder is that good to turn this shit into gold. We need to start with improving the positions where we have poor options, that’s just the basic requirement. One they are improved on the may absolute end up being a case for replacing even some of our current better performers, but right now if you simply swapped out Bruno for Odegaard I think you’re absolutely off your tits if you think we suddenly turn into a much better free scoring football team.

He was awful before the goal but arguably our best player after. But he is, or rather Ten Hags way of using him, the main reason we are extremely open. He is all over the pitch and often not where we would need him to be to sustain control and composure. The most dribbled past player in the league.
And yet I still believe it's more on the tactic and lack of any coherent playstyle than on Bruno himself.

He's not good against any sort of press, he's just not technically good enough to play without space.
I love Bruno and I will never question his attitude, passion or desire but this is here is his problem. He doesn't hold on to the ball because he is not press resistant at all.

We as a team aren’t press resistant, pretty much anywhere on the pitch.

There’s a case for the keeper, Martinez who never plays, Antony (barely plays) and Mainoo.

The problems are team wide and we’re too easy to press with shit options.

Good post.

Not to mention that Bruno, despite being surrounded by attackers who are either extremely raw, or straight up shite, in front of one of the most ineffective central midfields in the league, has racked up 12 goals and 9 assists so far this season (vs 10 and 7 for Odegaard, 4 and 7 for Maddison, 4 and 13 for De Bruyne)

Wow! I actually had no idea.

De Bruyne hasn’t played much in fairness but the other stats are mental considering how much better their teams and attack functions. I think Odegaard in particular would look absolutely awful here in this chaos, so it’s funny to me when I see so many posters believing that replacing Bruno with a player like him would be some magic bullet.

The early season campaign about how we’d be twice the team with James fecking Maddison instead of Bruno has certainly dried up.

Easily our best player which tells you all you need to know about the state of this club.
Can't fault his effort though, he looks like one of the few players that actually give a shit.

Our best player by a mile and I hate shit he gets. The tactics we use are leaving him high and dry but he’s the only one who you can see wants to win

It’s so weird though, even most younger fans have seen the likes of Gerrard struggle in shit teams, despite clearly being a brilliant player.

How anyone can watch us this season and declare one or two players are “the problem” is one of the most mystifying things I can think of.
We can’t play from the back, can’t attack from the wings, have no forward capable of leading a line for a top team, a low defensive line, and a high midfield line that constantly allows oceans of space between them and the back 4… but “Bruno”.
It’s utterly bizarre.

I would absolutely get the Bruno hate if we were a team that controlled most games and we’re good at pressing with most players great at beating the press but where many of our attacking moves fell down at Bruno. But posters are literally saying

yeah we’re shit in defence, midfield is all over the shop, Rashford is shit, Anyony is crap, Hojlund is nowhere near good enough, but hey, if Bruno was just more careful sometimes….

I mean exactly how does that statement finish?
