Its not just on the wing vs middle, he was playing much deeper and Fred was playing ahead. 3 in the middle is the way to go and Bruno should adapt to that role.

It definitely hurts some on here how much the match going fans chant Bruno's name every game. It definitely does. However, for me, he deserves all the accolades. On the whole he's been immense for us. One of the few who didn't look like he'd fall apart first half. Then in the second he came to the boil.
Was a good and calm performance from him tonight. Here's hoping would see more of this going forward.

People will think he played great vs Betis but I actually think he didn't play that well. 43.67% pass accuracy is pretty bad for a creative/playmaker player.
Personally, I find it's bad sportsmanship from him when he tries to take the penalty and nearly misses, or when he ignores Pelistri in a much better position and goes for a glory long shot and misses. A goal there will help Pellistri's confidence a lot but Bruno was just too selfish.

10/10 from Bruno today. Kept recycling when he should and upped the tempo when needed. Such a contrast from trying to constantly find Marcus running off the shoulder everytime we get the ball.

He played deep because the other team was sitting deep and we had a lot of running up there. It is not that it should be his position at all time against all sorts of team. We signed tons of CMs to do that progressing the ball stuff.

Fred plays ahead to press and manmark their most creative CM/DM and has a lot of energy. Bruno needs to be in certain areas, in no 19 or 6 position, whenever he could find a space. It is not set that he plays better deeper.
Man of the match after all the criticism. He creates chance after chance. With better forwards he’d be racking up 20 assists.

He’s so much better playing a bit deep. He has incisive passes in him we all know that so playing a bit deeper not only give us that cutting passes but also bulks up our midfield.

Well, we signed players like Cas, Eriksen, and Satizber who all play behind No. 10. I mean, at one point, people have to look at those players and see if they were able to progress the ball from deep and control the midfield instead of putting all the blame on the guy who plays ahead of them naturally.
All we have is Eriksen and he is injured.
