We have some really tough fixtures coming up. He could be under huge pressure by the end of January.

Whats the run like?
I know it's QPR this weekend and old Trafford in 3 weeks.
QPR will fancy this one

Liverpool will raise their game for United, Arsenal and City. They do good against higher placed teams.
Will probably lose to Norwich and Sunderland at home :)

Being the Liverpool manager is such a tough job - masses of pressure, the weight of history and an expectation of immediate success with trophies and titles, regardless of how good the side is.

There aren't many managers capable of it, never mind an inexperienced coach such as Rodgers. I actually think he's potentially a decent manager but he foolishly abandoned his apprenticeship at Swansea, where he was able to develop a philosophy over time, without having to win and build up some experience.

I can understand the desire to manage a big club but I don't think he was ready for the job and managers don't tend to get many opportunities at big clubs, if they're deemed as 'failures' the first time.

I'd agree if you'd got say Lambert, who has a track record of success and is taking a more graduated step up. Rodgers hasn't done much, fecked up at Watford and has a bigger job.

I think both have huge jobs on their hands. Rodgers is definitely bigger but both Villa and Liverpool fans have ideas that they should be challenging for titles when in reality both have very young and relatively small squads. In an ideal world both would be given a few years to put their stamp on their respective clubs but as Tomato says, Rodgers could be under a lot of pressure by the end of January. I want him to be given time because all coaches need time to build something.

Unlucky with the Shelvey incident vs us, let in two stupid goals vs City, drew with Chelsea - far from bad results.

Fair points actually. But I haven't got faith in us getting anything away at Arsenal/City. I just hope patience doesn't wear too thin, too soon.

QPR away
Sunderland Home
United Away
Norwich home
Arsenal away
City away

Are the next 6.

I can see them losing all of those away games.
And norwich and Sunderland are in good form so will give them a game.
Hopefully they can have a good day and take something from city.

It's a tough run

Well if it was the other way around and one of our players got sent off for that I'd be extremely disappointed. Not to mention Evans tackle could also be deemed as dangerous, so yes, it was unlucky for Liverpool.

Whatever wasn't done to Evans is irrelevant, that's a referee cock-up.We're talking about Shelvey here, a stupid lunging tackle (like the one he did ) was really dangerous. He got what he deserved.

Brendan 'Group' Rodgers rejects Hodgson comparisons

"I don't think about them to be honest, it is not something I am overly worried about," he said of comparisons with Hodgson's record.

"I have been brought in here to do a job and the owners have been brilliant with me.

"The backing I've had from supporters has been incredible considering and that is the most important group really.

"They recognise what is going on, they understand like I would understand the frustration.

"Any comparisons I don't really focus on and it is difficult to compare the two groups because there is a lot of youthfulness in this group but yet still a lot of growth left in the team.

"There is a lot of progressing to do because we're 10th in the table and this is a club which wants to be at the very top but the only way you can do that is by reconstruction of the work and building the squad.

"That is what is going to take a bit of time. I always say it's like a good meal - I'm not a great cook but a good meal takes a wee bit of time but also to offer a good meal you need good ingredients.

"That is something we will do over time and hopefully put a nice meal on the table for supporters."

"We certainly won't be able to do everything in January that would help us, but we'll be able to make some additions that will help the group," said the Reds boss.

"We can look forward to that and then review it again in the summer.

"There are very few names we have actually enquired about, but we're hoping we'll be able to do something in January pretty early on.

"We need that wee bit more experience, especially at the top end of the field.

"We're hopeful we can do that and then we'll see what else January can bring for us.

"We won't be spending a great deal of money. It'll be between January and the summer time that we can look at progressing the group and then hopefully go again."

Lambert's bringing Villa down.

Feed the scousers! Let them know it's Christmas time!

Spoofing bolloxology. I'd imagine that's the kind of shit I'd come out with if I suddenly found myself in charge of a Premier League club and hadn't a clue what to do.

Load of fecking nonsense.

At Melwood:

"We are bringing in a player (Sturridge) who knows he has to perform if he wants to be at one of the biggest clubs in the world and this is probably his last chance."

Bloody fool.

I sense another Robbie Keane situation, they won't even play him, and if they do, it won't be where he wants. He'll fix nothing.

Daniel is going to learn from everyone, really. He's coming into a club with values and ethics that have been retained for over many, many years. He'll not learn only about football, he'll learn about being a top human being.

The bolloxology continues.

I never liked Rodgers, starting with his days at Watford; he has always come across as an arrogant cnut who buys into his 'philosophies' far too much. Since he has joined Liverpool, he has become an even bigger cnut. No surprises there.

This is his probably last chance?

What an idiot.

Rodgers on Suarez at Ajax:
"He played as a reverse winger from the left side so he wasn’t quite out wide,he was tucked in round the corner."

What does this even mean? It's pure gibberish.

This guy just chats absolute shite day in day out. His constant jargon and attempting to sound like a football professor using 10 words instead of 1 is almost as bad as AVB's.

It would be interesting to hear what he thought on Kuyt's position.
