Brentan Rodgers

Straight from the school of Fergus. If he's going to copy, then copy the best surely?

Rodgers is virtually claiming if they played at their best they are the better side, which is rubbish as Pool were chasing shadows for 60 minutes and we could have been 4-0 up. Hugely debatable to say we were 'presented' with chances when sustained pressure results in mistakes at the back.

Fergie wins.

You haven't beaten a single side above you in the league this year and there's quite a few of them.

What a shame, especially as you had the LFC tactical masterplan worked out.

Don't compare a no-mark David Brent fraud to Fergie.

I reckon Rodgers actually hates it when there's a match on, because it gets in the way of his interview schedule.

Rodgers is giving you lot no credit as his last kick before he leaves O T. I'm happy with that as we all know we didn't deserve to draw the game. Now to meet Norwich, Suarezs fave hat trick team.

Kraft, I predicted a 2-1 defeat in the match thread. Ill wait for you to check.

My memory is you said our defence would be forced to push up to close the space on Gerrard, who has found his passing range, and that one ball over the top would undo us.

I don't remember you saying 2-1 defeat but I'll take your word for it.

It's funny. Even when you're right, you're wrong.

As I said, hes a chancer, the king of soundbites, I'll bet he has Dale Carnegie quotes on his bog paper, and can quote Marcus Buckingham, verbatim.

Reality isnt important, as long as you say your successful you will be.

Sadly for him, he can say Downing is a top footballer from now until Jesus makes his belated return, he'll still go missing for 60 minutes out of every 90.

In the same thread. Don't have to take my word for it.

I've no idea why he has them passing it out from the back on every occasion when Agger's the only good passer in that defence and Allen's the only one that shows for the ball. Having a footballing "philosophy" is great and all but if you don't have the players capable of playing that way then you're just being arrogant and stubborn for sticking to it. Why can't he adapt his style rather than asking Gerrard and co. to adapt their games? That first half performance is the worst I've seen them against us in years.

I agree, Reina looks like best passer in their back 5.

They looked like an under 16 team in a training game where they weren't allowed do anything else until they learned how to do it propery.

They need a proper AM for mine. Today there was like a big gap between Suarez and their midfield for the most part.

Maybe could use a good ball playing DM too, but a AM is essential to add creativity.

You should always play a system that suits the players you have, not stick players into a system you want to work.

Always ? Not sure about that tbh. You just need to find the right balance. Sir Alex does it many times too.

Wenger managed to get limited players to play a passing game when he first started here. His problem now is that he has ball-playing defenders who can't defend. I think I'd rather have Rodgers problem.

Cevno I fecked your post up. I'm not explaining. It'll be too embarrassing. All I'm saying is sorry.

Has the above post been edited ?

I typed a bigger one and then it was showing saying "it is essentially the same thing" with" at the bottom with "you need to find the right balance" in bold with the bottom part deleted. :wenger:

Haha no worries. Was wondering what the hell was happening ?

Thankfully, it wasn't too long.

There 'tactics' today at dealing with RVP were hilarious. 'Kick him or hack at him at every opportunity lads'. Pathetic stuff.

Commentator mentioned that they're yet to beat a side in the top 10 this season? If that's true, it's even funnier

For DM Scousers were all banking on Lucas coming back from injury as some kind of Mascherano clone with added offensive drive, despite the fact that he didn't resemble anything of the sort before getting injured. He was invisible today except for about 4 fouls.

They could potentially be dangerous with Suarez dropping into the AM/SS position with Sturridge up top in a 4231, but it could backfire moving Suarez too deep and having a fairly unproven striker leading the line.

Amazingly it's true!

2 losses v United
1 draw v City
1 draw v Chelsea
1 loss v Tottenham
1 draw v Everton
1 loss v Arsenal
1 loss v West Brom
1 draw v Swansea
1 loss, 1 draw v Stoke

9 goals scored, 19 conceded

Brendan Rodgers, the Liverpool manager, was heartened by his side's second-half performance. "We're 24 points behind United now," he said. "But we're not 24 points behind in terms of quality. The points difference is due to the squad. Once we close the gap in the squad in the coming transfer windows, I've got great faith that we'll be able to challenge."

Just watched that on the interview someone posted, what an idiot. Not sure if its just because of my United bias and him being Liverpool boss or what but I can't stand the slippery little twat. And what's funnier is he hasn't really had time to do a lot to us yet or say much, its just that Tony Pulis type, worm out of everything he does.

How on earth was our first goal "presented" to us? If he'd have scored that he'd be crowing about the great possession form the group and what not. They were never in the game until they got a lucky goal, a tap in, then they tried a bit harder which is normal, bit of pressure with them. For him to say they deserved something from the game is mental.

It was a good move through the middle to get the ball to Evra, well worked. After that Evra did nothing special other than draw a line with a ruler and pass the ball into the penalty area. Wisdom pussied out of his basic, bread and butter duties. It really was that simple, get close to Evra. He didn't, cost us the goal.

Obviously RVP's movement was very good, made Agger look silly. But should have been a movement in vain as a ball like that should never, never arrive in unless the full back's done something outstanding - which he hadn't.

Edit: IMHO of course.

He's right tbf, at least wait until the season's finished....it'll be at least 35 points difference by then ;)

To be fair every goal has bad defending in it. You can use that excuse any time.

Agreed, like Sturridge's goal was Rafael switching off allowing Sturridge in. But Wisdom really was under no other pressure. He really did cost us that goal and hopefully will learn from it.

What is he talking about? They are 24 points behind and that's only the current gap, it'll end up more.

Its the way Rodgers said we were presented with our goals despite Liverpool/Sturridge having the easiest goal to score, its laughable. The guy is deluded. Either way, 6 points.

He looks mediocre at best.
