Rodgers on Suarez at Ajax:

What does this even mean? It's pure gibberish.

This guy just chats absolute shite day in day out. His constant jargon and attempting to sound like a football professor using 10 words instead of 1 is almost as bad as AVB's.

I've heard of an Inside Forward, but never a reverse winger!

I think he means inverted, as in right footed left winger.

I had no idea Rodgers played for us as a schoolboy.

Suarez is always the victim, according to BR. No wonder the scouse fans love him already.

Manchester United v Liverpool: we are as good as any side in the Premier League, claims Brendan Rodgers
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says his first choice side is as good as Manchester United, arguing it is consistency and lack of squad depth that separates the clubs.

Rodgers believes his team is capable of beating any team in the country when they play to their potential. He puts the current 21 points gap down to Manchester United’s ability to maintain their level on a weekly basis.

“We’re as good as any team in the league, but we have to turn consistency into results,” said Rodgers.

“It’s no coincidence we’ve won seven of our last nine games since the Europa League stopped. We’ve had one game a week. That’s why I said when I came in for us to succeed it’s about building a competitive squad. The squad has to be stronger.

“In a one-off game (earlier in the season) we were better than Manchester United, even with ten men. We should have won the Manchester City game. We deserved to lose to Arsenal, but we fought to a draw at Chelsea.

“But it’s about consistency and you get that from depth of squad. Over the course of the season you need to judge it, but it doesn’t take away the magnitude of this game. If we’re going to progress we need to go to our rivals and put in good performances and results. It’s a yardstick for us, but it’s not just about the weekend.”

Gordon Brittas strikes again.

You left out the 'OK' bit, mate. :D

It's a clear sign that the absolutely brand new football philosophy that Brendan Rodgers invented totally on his own is finally finding its way into the brains of the players. Brains that could only hope to contain the capacity for knowledge of the brain of the master.

The brain that is helping Liverpool Football Club turn the corner. Turning around like a 19th century steam ship that had been heading for an iceberg until the arrival of our new Skipper. Our Captain. Our Saviour.

There is no need for women and children to leave this ship now Brendan's here. He is our lifeboat.

To further illustrate the life-changing effect Brendan Aloisious Pious Rodgers has had on Liverpool Football Club I made a sketch of the workrate of our midfield in today's blockbusting victory:

Midfielder Nuri Sahin, meanwhile, has returned to Germany to formalise a deal with Borussia Dortmund. Liverpool agreed to cut the Turkish midfielder’s loan from parent club Real Madrid short to free up his £90,000 a week salary.

Wait...they were paying him 90k a week? To warm the bench? What was the point?

No wonder the Scousers love him.

He knows exactly how to win over the Scousers. And he he knows you don't need results for that.

"It is all about the materials. I am not a magician. I will be able to improve players – that is my work and I have confidence in that. If I look at the first six months, I believe there has been improvement in a lot of the players. I will be able to rinse everything that I possibly can out of them, but the bottom line is about talent. If you don't initially have that then it can be difficult. That is also why I was brought in here, because we will get talents and we will try to maximise what we can out of players."You look at Jordan Henderson, Stewart Downing and José Enrique since the start of the season and we have added value back to them. Absolutely. That is the job of the manager and the coach, as well as winning games. My job is to improve players in every aspect of their game and that is something we will look to do because we don't have the resources of the top clubs who are out there paying big money. We won't have that. So we have to find the difference through coaching."

Actually fair play to him for admitting Liverpool aren't a big club. Although that will be interpreted by the koppites as clever mind games I'd imagine.

If those quotes are accurate, Rodgers is one delusional fukk. I have no problem bigging up your club, but Liverpool this season have rarely looked anything more than a modest, mediocre club this season.

If you want to talk about a few great performances, fine, but even QPR have a great performance to their name this season. It's all about consistency, Brendan. But by all means, keep feeding crumbs to the "Outraged by Everything. Ashamed by Nothing." crowd.

I think he's a spoofer, but in fairness, any manager is going to big up his team and exaggerate the positives. What do you expect him to say?

Just as I wouldn't expect Fergie to claim United are as good as Barcelona, I wouldn't expect Rodgers to claim Liverpool are as good as United.

On any given match day, anyone can beat anyone. Maybe Liverpool can beat us on Sunday. But they're 21 points behind us in the league table. The table does not lie. We beat them earlier in the season. It is simply not plausible to believe they're as good as United, City, Spurs or even Chelsea.

In short, I expect public figures like Rodgers to align their public comments with the truth. Not the whole truth, but a reasonable approximation of the truth. If Liverpool are as good as any other club in the league, then West Brom must be as good as any other club in the league. The absurdity of Rodgers's remarks could be more self-evident.

The real notable point in his quotes is this

we have added value back to them

Anyone who has ever spent more than 5 minutes in the corporate world will recognise that. I'm surprised he never mentioned blue sky thinking as well.

Hes a con artist, typical of the middle management promoted way beyond their abilities you find at every multinational in the country, they cover up their complete lack of intelligent comment with froth and bluster from the same silly self improvement books he is obviously worshipping.

No wonder he has a big picture of himself in his house.

fecktard.

He didn't say that, he said he's not being given the resources of a top club. Which is funny given the three players mentioned cost Liverpool around £47m.

It's an unpopular view on here but whilst I agree Rodgers is really self obsessed I think he's a really good manager who will turn Liverpool around from the joke they've become.

Gordon Brittas strikes again.

Hahahah feck that show was funny. I was only a tween but I used to watch it in the evenings before dinner in Aus.

Classic show. The receptionist with the kid under the desk..:lol:

Apparently the chances we had they presented to us. Odd, bitter comment.

There was me thinking our first goal was a brilliant bit of passing football with a brilliant move and finish from RVP............ofcourse not, Brent has convinced me I'm wrong.
