Brentan Rodgers

Has to be said, Rodgers plays to the Rawk masses extremely well. Most people would, naturally, cringe upon hearing that sentence. The Rawk lot just lap it up.

He's masterful at it, he knows exactly what to say to keep those delusional fans on his side. First win them over and then you can do no wrong with the majority of their fans.

Expertly following the Rafa path. Remember the press conference where he quoted You'll Never Walk Alone? Those turds lap it up.

Yep. Last season, Rodgers was under pressure so he wrote a big mawkish open letter to the fans after an away game in the Europa against some cannon fodder. They lapped it up and the pressure dissipated for a few months.

I swear, Hodgson could have gotten at least another season out of Liverpool if he just talked the shite talk they want to hear.

Nah, poor Roy obviously underrated the value of pandering to simpletons.

Suarez is as good as gone if Real want him. Rodgers knows this.

The big question is do Real want him?

I have my doubts as they haven't even started the usual antics when they target a player. Maybe this year they are distracted by the CL.

When Madrid want a player, you hear about it almost non stop.

Nobody has expressed any interest in the detestable little twat apart from Arsenal last year.

Falling into the same trap King Kenneth did. Not entirely sure why he thinks Lallana is an answer, he's had one good season and his team have finished 8th and the same goes for Lovren, he seems as though he's a mid table defender. For a club with league title and Champions League ambitions, his transfer targets seem a little unambitious. Perhaps that shows his real thoughts on whether Liverpool are back or not.
I think Lovren will be a big mistake, he's not at the level they need to revamp that shambles of a defence. Plus, they'll be in Europe next year. Lallana I find more understandable, I mean he's not going to take them to another level but he'll be a good player to have in the squad and will give them more options. The thing is, this year they basically played the same side week after week. They won't be able to do so next year so he's going to need a proper squad, not all world class players but guys you can rely on to come into the team and do a job. Lallana is a good recruit if they get him, in my opinion.

Keep in mind that Real Madrid's season isn't over yet. They still have a decisive Champions League final to play and endangering your leading striker's confidence by launching massive transfer rumors for Suarez wouldn't be very smart.

Let's see what happens afterwards until we assess Real Madrid's interest in Suarez.

I've asked this question a load of times and, as of yet, nobody has been able to answer me: why is it Brenton rather than Brentan?

His name is Brendan, after all. Forgive me if there's a separate pun in there that I'm unaware of, but on face value alone, this really bugs me.

This is a United forum and we despise Liverpool, generally. Therefore, to make fun of Rodgers any way possible should be par for the course.

Think I'd have preferred him heading off to Barcelona. Their slow down end to the season seems to have taken a bit of pressure off Rodgers for next season.

Brendan Rodgers said:
Rodgers: What I want to do this summer

The Reds secured a return to the elite stage of European club football with three fixtures to spare, before ultimately claiming second place in the Barclays Premier League.

Relentless in his pursuit of perfection, however, the manager was already thinking ahead to the summer transfer window within hours of the campaign finale.

"For me, it's about planning," said Rodgers, the League Managers Association's Manager of the Year. "We have the core of the squad now.

"Two years ago, when I came in, I was looking to introduce new ideas but a lot of the players weren't there because of the European Championship.

"That affected the start of the season. At least this summer we have the principles bedded in place and the players that come in will be the profile we want. It should be better for us this summer.

"I don't want to put a figure on how many but I would rather have one or two absolute top players than seven that might not help us.

"It's about the quality. We can't be going into the Champions League this year with doubts about players. We have to be going in knowing what the players' capacity to play is and their capabilities."

With stars from around the world - including a strong contingent from Liverpool - now switching their focus to the World Cup in Brazil, the boss considers preparation to be crucial.

The Northern Irishman added: "Ideally you would want to get things done beforehand but it is difficult because transfers are so complex.

"The World Cup does make it difficult but the club and ourselves have been preparing for quite a few months now so we will try and get the business done as early as we can."

Where does Lambert fit on this spectrum so, Brendan?

With Pochetino at Spurs and Van Gaal coming our way, I'd imagine Liverpool will struggle to make the top 4, despite the addition of world beater singing Rickie Lambert.
Lallana won't be much help either if they get him.

Is that his official nickname?

Absolutely! The transfer window is now officially shut and Brenton only gets us Rickie Lambert. What a twat.

You're missing the point completely.

Rodgers said he'd rather get "one or two top quality players than six or seven that might not help us"

Naheali then asked where he fit in that spectrum which is a fair question considering he's definitely not top class by any means.

I'd say at £4 million he'll be a massive upgrade on Aspas when it comes to having a bit of quality to bring off the bench, or as cover for injuries etc. I don't think anyone actually believes that Lambert comes under Rodger's 'one or two top quality players' statement. I'm pretty sure they'll come in due course though.

I don't really get people laughing at the Lambert signing. Liverpool badly need depth with the extra games next season and at £4M signing Lambert is decent business. Sturridge and Suarez will still be the go to guys in the big games.
As long as Lambert isn't the only signing I can't see anything wrong with it.

Lambert is a good signing. Just for his sake, I hope he stays clear of Lallana.

Yep, no denying that for that price, given how thin their squad is, it's a good signing.

I'm surprised people still listen to Rodgers' bullshite. He was nicknamed Brenton for a reason, he talks bollocks but he's done well with the team. His success as a manager hasn't tempered his bollocks spouting capacities ('Suarez has made me a better person' anyone?), and he'll carry on doing so. He's an idiot, but he's a competent idiot from what he's shown so far. Rather than what he says, we should be looking at the state of their squad at the end of August to properly judge. I'd say Lambert is a step in the right direction IF he's just one of many signings and the others are of much higher quality.

Seems like he's trying to buy Southampton. Lambert, Lallana, possibly Lovren and reportedly Rodrigues.
