He apparently said this today:
Those comments would a lot more noble coming from a club which wasn't losing £50m a year and has spent like over £200m in the past 4 or 5 years.
He apparently said this today:
Ah, you want nobility. Should have said, I'll phone the Queen now.
What the factually correct bit?
The bit that smacked of wanting sympathy and/or trying to show how brilliant he is. A moral victory.
That viewpoint is emotional, therefore subjective. He gave the facts, you can sprinkle with emotion as you see fit.
Someone said to me that if Liverpool had been in the Champions League this year they wouldn't have complied with the FFP regulations either. Is this true? I know nothing about it.
I've read that they would have failed the first phase of it or whatever it is but once they excluded any wages before 2010 then they would have just scraped by.
I like that. Will try it next time the missus kicks off about something.

Reckon that'll go down really well.
Rodgers complete lack of defensive coaching ability and tactical naivety will mean there's a fair possibility he'll never win anything major at Liverpool. We've seen it all before with Keegan. Bum-rush football that fails to deliver the big prizes.
Instead of learning from mistakes and progressing, Liverpool have become worse defensively as the season has worn on, if anything. 'Crystanbul' had been on the cards for a few weeks, but a mixture of poor refereeing and fortune prevented it.
Still, it's funnier to blame Gerrard. So carry on.
Bloody hell, here's a blast from the past. Where have you been hiding the past few months ?
Safe to come out from behind the sofa now eh ?
He's been sacrificing virgins in Wythenshaw.

His wife has filed for divorce, not sure if he even likes her though. Not the best way to start such an important summer, losing the premier league title due to some very questionable decisions and fighting off a woman probably trying to take everything.
I wonder if she'll get more now that he has signed a new contract? Will the proceedings take into account future income from that or only what has been earned until now?
The things he was getting up to between games:

Walked into that one
His wife has filed for divorce - they were separated a long time ago and lived their own lives.
Rodgers questionable decisions has allowed him to finish 2nd while chasing 4th, his ex-wife will get what she's entitled to. Irrelevant to us what that is.
The things he got up to between games was to date another woman while totally separated from his wife. He was then at her home, luckily as there was a man wielding a cricket bat outside her house while he was there.
While we're talking about managers and their personal lives I heard there was a disgusting human being in charge of a premier league club only last week. Apparently slept with his BROTHER'S wife WHILE his brother was still married to her and behind his BROTHER'S back. Hmmm, so vicious this internet trash posting business isn't it?
Next season will certainly be interesting for Rodgers and this Liverpool squad. His tactic this season of overload in the first half has taken most teams by surprise, and it has worked very well. I can imagine a lot of teams adapting their tactics next season though and parking the bus much more aggressively, knackering the team out for 70 odd minutes and then pushing out when they are tired. He's got to think of more than just the "pile it all on" tactic in the first half otherwise they are going to be found out a lot earlier. Either that or teams will ignore this tactic and continue to let them take early advantages and hold the game

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was caught up in a frightening broad daylight bust-up when a screaming youth tried to smash up the door of a female pal’s house.
The man, armed with a cricket bat, pulled up in a car outside honking the horn and hurling abuse.
When the stunned Premier League manager told him to leave, the man shouted for him to come out into the street.
He then ran back to his car and pulled out the cricket bat which he used to batter the front door before racing off in his car.
Shocked neighbours who witnessed the incident on the up-market street called police.
But by the time three squad cars arrived the man had fled.
Today Rodgers will try to guide Liverpool to victory against Norwich City and a big step closer to their first league title for 24 years.
Yesterday a source said: "Thankfully Brendan has put this behind him and focused on football."
A neighbour told how the Liverpool boss arrived at the house in Southport at around 3.15pm on Monday and parked nearby.
The drama unfolded about an hour later when a man pulled up outside the home of Rodgers' friend Charlotte Hind, 31, who used to be a travel coordinator for the club.
They became close after he split from his wife Susan.
Witnesses claimed Rodgers appeared at an upstairs window and asked the man to go away, at which point the man, in his early 20s, went back to his car and returned with the cricket bat.
One neighbour said: "He pulled up outside and he was blowing on the horn.
"Then he got out, went to the boot and got a cricket bat out, it looked new, I think it still had the labels on.
"Brendan appeared at the window upstairs and he was telling him to go away.
"He was just pointing down and telling him to go.
"But he was shouting ‘Get f***ing well down here’.
"He was getting no response so he smashed the door and gave it a couple of whacks.
"Then he went to the back door.
"I think he damaged it, but then he came back round, shouting."
The young man left and around 10 minutes later a number of police cars arrived and officers spoke with neighbours.
One said Rodgers, 41, left at around 7pm, a couple of hours after the incident.
The Liverpool boss quit his family home and moved into a £1.2million flat in February, after which he grew close to mum-of-one Ms Hind.
Rodgers, who has been praised for guiding his team to the top of the league, has reportedly transformed his appearance in recent months, losing weight and spending thousands of pounds having his teeth whitened.
Ms Hind is divorcing her husband of five years Steven.
Dad-of-two Rodgers has denied having a relationship with Ms Hind.
The front door of her property had visible signs of damage yesterday.
The neighbour said: "Brendan came yesterday and he waved to us, him and her, in the car."
Rodgers' wife Susan has not commented on the split.
She had shared a rented mansion with him in Formby, Merseyside, after he left previous club Swansea City to take over at Anfield.
Rodgers, who also managed Watford and Reading, regularly praised his wife for supporting him throughout his career.
He said in a 2012 interview: "My wife Susan is a brilliant, understanding lady.
"I met her when I was very young at Reading and we've been together ever since.
"She's very supportive, she knows it's my passion."
A spokesman for Merseyside Police told the Sunday Mirror: "We can confirm a patrol attended a property in Birkdale on Monday, 14 April following a report of a disturbance.
"Officers were called at approximately 5.30pm to a report of a man with cricket bat damaging the front door of a property. Officers attended but the man had left the scene.
"People in the property were spoken to about the incident and they did not wish to make a complaint."

I must admit that I'm genuinely interested to see how Rodgers copes in the CL. Will be fascinating if they can take teams apart the way Dortmund did. I think they might surprise a few.

It's simple, if he can increase his squad size with players drilled to play in his system and replicate the level this season then they could have another excellent season.
It could go either way, on one hand they could continue smashing teams domestically and do the same to those in Europe.
On the other, the constant games might make it difficult for him to sustain this level and also if teams start parking the bus in the hope of getting a point, then they might be in for quite a few tough games.
This could be a one-off season, a fluke or Rodgers could be the british Klopp / Simeone, a man capable of implementing a powerful, effective system with mostly only good players where the whole is far, far greater than the sum of the parts making for a world class team.
I can't wait for next season, it's going to be so competitive.
Louis van Gaal will try to do the same, I'm curious to see how he operates in the absence of a director of football, with Alex Ferguson like powers where he can completely implement his authoritarian regime. He could also not be successful, be successful or even be incredibly successful. If the players give themselves to him, if they believe fully in the philosophy and carry out his requests to the letter we will have something special here.
Dortmund were poor in the CL in season 2011-12. It took them a while to find their feet. Liverpool are likely to struggle in the CL because they have been out of it for 5 years and are seeded in Pot 3.
Rodgers thanked former manager Kenny Dalglish for signing Suarez and revealed how his experienced players gave the striker a glowing recommendation on his arrival at Anfield.
"When I came into Liverpool as manager, Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard said to me this was the best player that they had played with," he said.
"I thought about those two and all the great players they've played with in their career, so I was really interested to see what his play was like close up.
"For me, he has challenged me every day of my life, he's done everything that you would need to do at the top level of the game as a player.
"He is a winner, his determination is unique, he is absolutely relentless. He is someone that trains every single day of his life - he doesn't look for an excuse.
"And what people don't see is that he is a very intelligent man. He is a winner when he crosses the line, but with great intelligence.
"For a young manager like myself coming into a club like Liverpool, I understand the pressures of the club and those pressures include everything that involves managing top players.
"I know for however long I am at Liverpool, whenever I leave I will have become a better manager and a better person because of Luis Suarez and for that I thank him so much."
likewise it is likely that Arsenal will not have such an injury crises and United will spend big and employ a competent manager.
