What a job he is doing. The Premier League Klopp or Simeone?

They're relentless as well. Even when the game is already won.

The premier league gas a few promising young managers. Rodgers, Martinez and pochettino all look good. Wouldn't compare either of them to klopp yet though.

Klopp has won two league titles so obviously Rodgers doesn't match him yet. But in terms of style, the pressing, the pace? It's very impressive.

It is. As is what the other two I've named are doing with lesser resources.

But I do prefer dortmund's to any of these sides comfortably.

Considering suarez and sturridge have both had injury/suspension, rodgers has done fantastically well this season. Hate to say it but they are one of the teams I enjoy watching, they play fast, stylish and attacking football. Still not convinced by their defence though.

Probably not as good but I think Liverpool's style in attack is very refreshing, that front 4 of Sturridge, Suarez, Countinho and Sterling... all of them can pick out a pass, strike off either foot, dribble past players. When they're on song, so entertaining. Swansea under Rodgers were also very entertaining to watch. You can tell this Liverpool side is a well-coached team... our football is a world away from this currently.

Not one of the posts on this page says he's as good as Klopp. The closest you get to that is someone asking if he could be the premier league version of him which isn't saying Rodgers is as good as him at all.

Exactly.

You can't praise a Liverpool man without getting some stick, it seems.

The pressing is so good that even someone as small in frame as Sterling is more effective defensively than the tank Antonio Valencia.

I don't think anyone thought Sturridge would be this good, not in Liverpool fans!!

Yes they really come across as a superbly well coached.

If you're on about me, I meant in terms of style and the job he's done so far. I'm not saying he's as good as a man who's won two league titles and reached a CL final on limit resources.
Not even close on that count.

Yep. Even though its Pool, you cant help but admire how they work as a team. Sum of parts much greater than the individuals.

Liverpool are excellent at home. Their away form though is terrible, that's the next issue he needs to address, 4 wins in 12 is pretty terrible. Admire him as a manager though, I must say I thought his success at Swansea came from Martinez setting up the team, but he's carried the same approach to Liverpool and transformed them into a top team.

Not even close on that count.

Yet. What if he continues to improve them at this rate? He could match Klopp eventually. CL will allow him to bring in better players.

Long long way to go though of course, and there's two sugar daddy clubs in this league.

Edit: Anyway, perhaps the Simeone example was more accurate.

He has definitely improved Liverpool since arriving. If this continues, they will challenge for the league and CL next year.

He is doing a fine job. Much better than i expected. Credit where its due.

They will go in a third seed in the CL. They will have a difficult task in the CL.

What if he keeps challenging for 4th every season?

Let's make those comparisons when those things happen.

That is what great managers do, put a stamp on a team immediately... even if the players in question ain't up to it, there should be evidence of a plan, a philosophy. At the highest level it is important for players to have a plan, a default style of play they can impose in the toughest conditions. I still don't see that from United. It is possible to be over-coached though, Arsenal are like this... they have no individuality in the final third, even their star players like Wilshere and Ozil.. prefer the pass rather than taking someone on and take the game to the opposition. This is especially evident in the bigger games, where they're often found wanting.. whereas Liverpool held their own away from home against City and Chelsea albeit, they didn't get the results.

We actually come across as behind the curve in coaching terms compared to these teams.
I've been thinking this for a while, even in Fergie's last season.

We've definitely got the players to play such football but it doesn't seem that we ever rehearse any of these movements or plays in our training.

Fergie I can understand since he was determined to go out with a title and put individuals ahead of the team but we've yet to see any change in our style under Moyes.

That has been my biggest concern with Moyes so far. Its not the results but the fact that what we're seeing is just Sir Alex's side without him as the manager. Nothing has changed even though quite a lot of the talk was about him implementing a high pressing style. We're still in SAF mode without the man's ability to get the best out of the players or his sheer desire to win which seeped onto the pitch too.

He has a style of football and has implemented it very well at Liverpool. Even last season where they finished 7th, you could see the type of football he wanted them to play and this season they're much more consistent and getting the results.

Still comes across as a bit of a tit, but he's done a very good job.

We don't even have the best British manager anymore!
Hes done a great job there, got them playing good football and there was a bit of time where they were inconsistent while getting used to it, but the signs were there from the start.

I do wonder if we can we really expect a manager who made his team play hard working, gritty percentage football for a decade (barring maybe one year) to ever get us to play the kind of football do now. I really doubt it.
