I'm sure Arsenal fans, players and management are much happier with their summers big acquisition than they would be with Suarez.

Rooney probably wanted to go Chelsea, we told them no, told Rooney he can't go to them and kept him. He doesn't appear to be sulking and is actually playing well, I think Suarez will for Liverpool too.

Just shows that you can keep players that want to leave and still get good service out of them for a while longer.

Only in the 'isn't a cnut' stakes, in terms of the player they needed, it was Suarez more than Ozil IMO with them already having Carzola, Wilshere, Ox and Ramsey for Ozils position.

Moot point - if Giroud stays fit he does the flagpole around which the technomidgets dance (and score).

This "arsenal don't need Ozil" rubbish needs to stop. Lots of egg on faces by the end of the year.

Ozil is fantastic and Arsenal carried out a great piece of swoopery in landing him. As good a player as Suarez and none of the shite. He'll be as amazing as we think he will.

Nah, they definitely needed that level of quality injected into the team. Ideally it would've been in a position in which they weren't so well stocked really, like up front. That's pretty much a fact really.

Lots of Arsenal fans would've preferred Suarez to Ozil before the latter signed, despite Suarez not being quite as good a striker as Ozil is a number ten.

Like I said though, Liverpool showed Arsenal that you can keep players that want to leave.

Bendtner will shock us all...mark my words.
Arsene's bigging him up: He is a good striker. He could play against West Brom, he will be in the squad for sure.
It is a fantastic opportunity for him. Honestly, he was supposed to go, but he stayed and once he stays you have to consider him as a full player of the squad.
If he deserves to play in front of [Olivier] Giroud, he plays in front of Giroud. That is as simple as that. He lost his way a little bit, but he is not a bad boy. He is a good guy. He took the easy way a little bit but now he realises there are some [signals] in your career when players think that is the moment for them. He has got the message.

I've never disliked Bendtner as a player but he has fecked me off with not wanting to shift. A good run up front could put him right back into a groove considering the service he'd be getting.

Well you're 21 years old earning £50K a week and shagging a princess - knuckling down at training might not be first thing on the agenda,

Yes, it does take dedication when you're at a big club from a young age. Ramsey and Wilshere have really shown cnuts like JET and Pennant how it's done.

JET's a massive loss: pace, built like a brick shithouse, lovely teks. He was apparently big mates with the Forest Gate crews incl the grime boys the Newham Generals (feck wid us bro and you end up in the Newham General). I thought a move to the sticks might clear his head.

Maybe he'll come back to it later like Wrighty did.

Sensational start for Bristol City scored 6 in 8 incl a couple of crackers. This doesn't look too clever though: 'When the 2nd round draw for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy aired on Soccer AM, Emmanuel-Thomas appeared as a guest on the show. When Bristol City were drawn against Wycombe Wanderers away, he predicted the game would be "light work" and he would score 2 in a 3-1 away win.

He plays a nice brand of football IMO, he's done a great job so far at Liverpool.

Shhh, Noooo. He's David Brent re-incarnate. Other clubs' walls have ears you know! Just let Brenton continue fking up LFC and enjoy the ride. Please.

Edit: and for God's sake no one post up his 2013 stats or anything stupid like that.

So, this joker also has his opinion on SAF's book. Old school ethics. It is admirable though that he knows exactly what words will make him dear to Liverpool supporters.

"Anyone who's been in football knows that whatever is said behind closed doors and in the changing room is something you wouldn't want to hear again," Rodgers told the radio station.
"It's something that's vitally important. You want to know as a human being that you can speak openly and communication is honest, and hopefully wouldn't get repeated.
"It's certainly something that in modern time is becoming more difficult. I always felt that years ago you could say those sorts of things, that people were open and honest, but that it would get left behind and you move on.
"As time goes on and all the social communication and technologies come along it makes it that bit more difficult. You would like to think you would still have some old school values and ethics that whatever is said you take it on the chin and keep it behind closed doors and move on."
Rodgers also disagreed with Ferguson's assessment of Steven Gerrard. Ferguson claimed that Gerrard wasn't a 'top top player' and that he hardly 'had a kick' when playing against Paul Scholes and Keane, despite trying to sign the Liverpool captain in 2005.
"Everyone who's seen that would probably say it's more than harsh," said Rodgers.
"I've watched Steven over many years and recognised he was a top player but it's only when you come in and work with the man and realise how professional he is on a daily basis that you understand his performance level.
"This is a guy who at 33 years of age who is a top, top player. He's a wonderful talent and I don't think anyone could argue."

The 'behind closed doors' comments are especially funny when you consider he probably had a hand in green lighting that ridiculous documentary about Liverpool.

As for the Gerrard comments, it's only logical he'd take his defence and in any case he's entitled to his opinion and can believe SAF is wrong on that count if he wishes, I'm sure a lot of people (and not only LFC fans) will disagree with Fergie.

Should he not have an opinion? Especially when the shite your man is talking is about his captain.

Highlight the bit he's said which is so laughable.

Edit: Point taken on the documentary although I don't think he had any say whatsoever in that.

As I said, the Gerrard comments are perfectly understanble and he's entitled to make them.

The media part though, for me, is a bit cringeworthy because whether or not he had a say in the documentary (and I'm sure he did, at least some input, if only his agreement to participate in it), he seems to bask in what he paints as the media of 'the modern time'. And that was fairly evident in that documentary.

Pretty laughable when you do all that big talk and it is manager of a club who did all those feck ups after racism incident is talking.

What is laughable is he is going by what media has portrayed and focused on. None of what has been said by SAF on any topic is new revelation. His views on those topics were clear to everyone and what had happened was known to all. There must be other things in book like praising all these United players about whom Fergie has pointed out some uncomfortable incidents. Has Brenton read the book and read which comments were made in what context?

As I said, definitely knows what would make him dear to Liverpool supporters.
