It's weird. Liverpool generally seemed to have a bit of sympathy on this issue. A lot of people seemed to think the ban was harsh.

They've gone and ruined it by their victim attitude.

Yep. Also shows that their initial stance was insincere and just a cynical ploy to have the ban reduced.

Even with all that's gone on, there's absolutely no attempt to make amends or a desire to change - that's why the 10 games is deserved.

Suarez deserves the ten game ban but I cant see him getting any help from Rodgers as they seem as nutty as each other.

Perhaps LFC can get a 2for1 deal with some local shrink to help the pair of them.

While it would not happen in public, the best part would be that if the get a decent therapist for him, one of the first things the club will be told is that they have to stop making excuses for him and blaming everyone else. Otherwise he will continue to see his behavior as someone else's fault.

Rodgers going full Dalglish.

Either LFC are idiots, either the rest of the world is.

Bring back the T-shirts, please!

At-least this time they didn't accuse Ivanovic for being a liar, cheater, cnut and a disguising human being.

I'm honestly struggling to believe that Rodgers is coming out with comments like this:

"Each time he (Suarez) makes a step forward we find ways to beat him with a stick and beat him down."

Brendan Rodgers would understand if Luis Suárez wants to quit Liverpool:

 Man Utd fans must be laughing their socks off! First you win yet another title while LFC become even less relevant as a footballing threat and now they take a leap backwards and become a laughing stock once again with how they handle yet another embarrassing situation.

How can a club be SO stupid?!

I'm not, it actually fits with everything I've seen of him over the last 12 months.

He spouts corporate speak like confetti and bases his managment style on 'success in business' self help books. All his pronouncements are normally well rehearsed to have a lot of words and catchphrases whilst saying diddly squat.

Now hes off track , the likes of Dale Carnegie dont have rules for this bit, so rather than the usual meaningless corp speak twaddle, hes saying actual shit that people can follow , and displaying himself for what he really is. A very empty vessel, and his pea for a brain is rattling loudly.

Why does every Liverpool manager go mental? I bet Hodgson's glad that he didn't stick around long enough to lose all sense of reality.

It's unbelievable how they try and turn every single incident into a 'victims' campaign, the lot of them are fecking deluded. I understand they want to defend their player but they go beyond that onto the borders of retardation, instead of admitting to the mistake it's turned around and thrown back at the FA, this is a guy who's been done for racism, been found guilty of biting (twice) and as already got away with 4-5 stamps and achilles rakes yet the only thing we hear coming out of Liverpool is how the FA have an agenda against him. It's no wonder the fans are like they are.

Maybe they should take a look at the player and ask themselves why he keeps doing this type of shit.

Rodgers that! Manchester City want Liverpool boss to replace Roberto Mancini

Brendan Rodgers is the shock name in the frame to replace Roberto Mancini as Manchester City manager, writes the Sunday People.

The Liverpool boss has significant behind-the-scenes support at the Etihad despite a hit-and-miss first season at Anfield.

The Blues power-brokers believe the 40-year-old Irishman fulfils all the criteria they deem essential – like a willingness to blood young players early, media skills, and European experience – and the ace in his pack is that he is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Rodgers was City’s first choice a year ago when he was at Swansea and Mancini was on the ropes – before the dramatic turnaround that saw his side crowned Premier League champions.

Now the Irishman is back on City radar, with Mancini not safe even if he wins the FA Cup next month.

Rodgers has two years left on his Liverpool contract so City would have to pay compensation – but that won’t deter them.

Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez is also a live contender for the City post – sources close to the Spaniard say he is desperate for the job.

But it’s the pursuit of Rodgers, just a year into his Liverpool career, that will raise most eyebrows.

No offence to Rodgers but the Mirror's become absolutely dreadful in recent years.

With most football managers you get the feeling that they 'play the camera' for show and maximum effect but with Rodgers I don't get that feeling. He seems like he genuinely believes the ridiculous Brent-esque comments he comes out with.

Bizarre man.

Whats funny? I think its quite a good stance from Rodgers to want to get in to the Europa on merit and not taking the piss via a fair play award

Rofl firstly it's still some way to go for them to win a place via the fair play route. Secondly it sounds quite arrogant for him for declare Liverpool won't accept a Europa spot if given one. Sounds a bit like an early case of the fox not being able to reach the grapes then calls them sour. Thirdly as the saying goes "Beggars can't be choosers". Apparently Brenton thinks Liverpool are too high and mighty to be "given" a Europa spot? :wenger:

What a knob. Would be an achievement to make it to the final of that competition let alone win the 'we might make the champions league again' cup at the end of the year.

The loathing some people have for the competition is absolutely ridiculous.

Talk about blowing something all out of proportion. Dear me.
Some of you lot don't half twist a story to suit your own agenda.

I'm betting the people who pay Rodgers wages will have different thoughts on the importance of the uefa cup.

Warrior for instance didnt give them all that money for being 7th in the premier league and have the most viewed photo of their kit this season involve someone in it trying to bite another player.

They did it for exposure, to break their brand in another continent.

Do foxes eat grapes?
