Brentan Rodgers

He hasn't been strong in his condemnation of the incident at all, Johnny. It's all bluster (what's new with Rodgers, eh?) and no conviction. Suarez holds all the aces here and Liverpool know it. They're afraid of their lives he'll jump ship in July as they are fecked without him. Imagine having to rely on Sturridge, Borini, Coutinho and Sterling for goals on a consistent basis? All can be fine players on their day, but Suarez is a cut above them and Liverpool's only true top-class player at present.

Rodgers knows he needs Suarez onside if he's to be a success at Liverpool.

Yes, but you don't know what has been said within the club, clearly Ayre and the owners would have been involved.

When asked just after the match Brendan correctly said he wanted time to review what had happened, rather than jump in with both feet as Kenny had been prone to do.

Kenny got slaughtered for his public support, now Brendan keeps his council it's unfair to give him the same treatment, best to say little and keep it behind closed doors.
Problem is whatever he does some will be critical of him.

Nobody is denying he is our best player. I don't know what will happen with him if and when someone puts in a bid. Personally I am not that wrapped up in it, if he moves then he moves.
However, and as Gary Neville said 30 minutes ago the club shouldn't feel they have to sell him, but instead try and help to sort the problems out.

Rodgers: "No correlation with McManaman tackle, only with similar incidents." Refers to Defoe being picked by FA for England after biting.

Rodgers: "I can't help but look at it & feel that the punishment has been against the man rather than the incident."

Rodgers: "The player needs a bit of help. We will look after our employee with the objective that something like this never happens again."

Rodgers says he doesn't feel let down by LS: "If we had half a dozen more players like him this football club would be in a diff position."

Rodgers: "I look in his face and I see a genuine guy who is bitterly disappointed. It'll take a bit of time for him to reflect."

Rodgers: "He's still very much part of the Liverpool family and very much part of the future."

...

Rodgers: "We never considered imposing our own ban."

Rodgers: "First time I've ever known an independent committee dictated to by so many people."

Rodgers says he couldn't disagree with "some of the words" spoken by Pepe Reina.

Rodgers: "I asked Luis what he was thinking and he couldn't answer."

Rodgers: "Even the Prime Minister chipped in with something which is a different matter all together."

Rodgers: "There's that little wire in his brain that sometimes acts differently. That's what we're trying to help."

Rodgers: "At this moment in time he'll feel really low because of the sanction."

Rodgers says no one could've complained if it'd been a six game ban with a further six suspended.

Rodgers: "There's been no thought for rehabilitation, only punishment."

Essentially, everyone else is at fault apart from Suarez. He can't help himself because he's got a wire loose in his brain.

So it would seem he's fully surrendered to the Liverpool Victim complex. TBF, he always came across as a little weasel so going down the easy road and playing up to their instincts was likely from him.

What a loser.

I can't believe this is the same Brendan Rodgers who was manager of Swansea a few months ago. What the feck are they putting in the water up there?

I was going to say that's unbelievable, but it seems about right for the collective delusion that is Liverpool Football Club.

It's pretty depressing one the one hand, but on the other hand it's just another example of how they always point the finger for their shortcomings elsewhere and while they continue to do that constantly they will remain in the doldrums.

You are totally correct. They are in denial. Until you accept that you have a problem, you can't be cured.

How can they complain? He got 7 matches in Holland now they are saying he should have got 6 this time?

A murderer should get 25 years the first time then 10 the second.

Suarez may well indeed have a little wire loose.

You know what wont help him.

making him feel justified in a sense of persecution every time he gets punished for his antics.

They are -AGAIN- seperating the punishment from his actions , the very thing they accuse the FA of doing , where what he actually needs to start comprehending is his actions cause the punishment. Not the other way around.

Rodgers is a bellend, I said it before, hes a bluesky thinking corporate speak spouting fraud.

The day after, you ban suarez till the end of the season youselves, with no pay. Its a statment that says we dont want this. The FA probably then throw in a couple of games at the start of next year, job done, and suarez may actually learn something.

But this? It plays into his egotistical view that hes somehow the victim and ensures we are - at best- 6 months from another meltdown.

It's circle the wagons time again though. The only thought in Liverpool's mind now is to try to keep Suarez at the club. Reason will go out the window, and who's to say they're wrong. I'm sure it's a difficult one for them. On the one hand I'm sure they would love for him to not be a total idiot, but on the other they can't afford to lose him.

To say he grew up learning to win at all costs as an excuse is ridiculous, same goes for blaming where he grew up or whatever.

He is what age now, 26? He's been a professional footballer in Europe for long enough to understand you can't bite people or act the prick and expect to get away with it.

There are plenty of South American players who have come from the same, if not worse, back rounds than Suarez and they conduct themselves admirably. He needs to start taking responsibility for the ridiculous shit he gets involved in.

Rodgers has now become one of them. He has drunk from the Goblet of Delusion and inhaled the Incense of the Incensed. He cannot turn back. There is only one direction he can head now: he must traverse the City of Self Pity for a thousand days and thousand nights, never once seeking to help himself and his stricken followers, living on the generosity of others, hurling curses and vitriol at passersby, bemoaning the apathy of the Gods. It was written.

If he'd have come out and said 'now you know whos name's in those fecking envelopes' I'd have some respect for him.

Probably got the media onside as well if he did.

I think the suggestion that the FA should be trying to "rehabilitate" Suarez rather than ban him is hilarious. Is that some sort of admission that he literally can't help himself biting people? That he is, in fact, a cannibal?

He clearly doesn't have anger issues on a par with someone like Barton or Keano as he doesn't fight anyone, he just cheats and gives sly digs. Don't think you can go into rehab for being a cnut.

I suppose it must be frustrating knowing your 1 genuine talent is going to be banned for several games, but at the end of the day he has nobody else to blame but himself, hes bitten somebody on a football pitch not once but twice.

He deserves everything he gets!

They are correct that they have punished the man. They have given Suarez extra punishment not because he is Uruguayan or because he is called Luis Suarez but because he is an incredibly dirty player with history in this department of biting opponents. Any player regardless of race, country of origin etc would have got the same ban if they had the same previous as Suarez.

Also for some reason when reading Rogers comments I get the impression he is more annoyed Suarez got caught rather than actually biting him.

Rodgers says he couldn't disagree with "some of the words" spoken by Pepe Reina.

Evidently not the part where he hints at prior footballing offences.

And it's not as if in recent times we haven't seen a player with previous being given an exemplary punishment, although QPR weren't so passive as Liverpool.

Rodgers come across as weak and is only hurting Suarez more in the long run.

Rehabilitation :lol::lol::lol::lol:

And he complains that the FA are not doing enough. He is your fecking player Brendan you twat, it is not the FA's job, it is your clubs job. Perhaps if everyone involved with Liverpool was not an idiot one of you would have thought to do that months ago and prevented him from getting himself banned AGAIN.

The level of stupidity coming from club officials on this is mind boggling. There is backing your player and then there is the typical Liverpool victims dance. One has to wonder what the owners are actually thinking about all this.

If anyone needs help it's clearly Rodgers. His mental decline since joining Liverpool is alarming and I really think it needs to be investigated by the FA.

Good post!

I have to say it again, why has it taken them until now to start talking about him needing help, did they not realize it before or as I expect is this really just one more attempt to make him look the victim. Now they can claim the FA are picking on the mentally challenged.

Next they will roll out that he has some "mental illness" and that we all should not be judging him, afterall you don't look down on someone who has cancer do you, no you get them treatment.

These comments should buy Rodgers some time at Anfield now, I'd expect him to be there many years now which is a good thing. RAWK will lap these comments up.

Desperate club in desperate times, pissing on everything they are for one player.

And as been pointed out, whilst they are going to pathetic lengths to once again place the blame away from him, they are not helping him. Rehabilitation indeed.

But as we all know, it's never their fault, it's always others trying to hold them down. For a once proud and winning club, they are a shell of their former selves, it's the losing self-pity attitude that has made that club rotten to the core.

The guy is a fecking idiot, he said that a 6 match ban and a further 6 suspended with a warning about his future conduct would of been OK.
Was he not warned about his future conduct after the Evra offence, how many warning does the idiot need.

If he needs rehabilitation to stop biting people on a football pitch, he's more messed up than I thought.
