He was also a major reason why we scored so many.

His goalscoring was dominated by penalties and assists from set peices. Liverpool fan's seem to always be pointing the finger at the CB's but ignore the total lack of protection he offers in front of them.. Liverpool no longer have the ability to press opposition defenders with Balotelli/Lambert like they could with Suarez/Sturridge which takes away a layer of protection he had. Teams can easily work the ball into the final 3rd and expose him. I'm not trying to slate Gerrard because he's a Liverpool player to me he seems finished and as United fan I'd be pretty happy to see him stick around for a few more years.

They've all been better this season.

Lucas is ordinary. Just like Allen,Henderson,Gerrard etc
Toure was a disaster in the team last season. One "good" game V Real is all he has done this season. They could have lost that game 6-0.
Can is ordinary like the rest of the CM.
Monero just gifts goals to the opposition like at City,Newcastle etc.

Don't get me wrong, I very much dislike Rodgers and am thoroughly enjoying him being taken down a peg or three, but there's no way he should be sacked unless he fails to even challenge for 4th. Liverpool had a great season last year, but maybe that was just a freak, like Newcastle's challenge for CL football a few years ago. Sometimes teams have seasons where everything clicks, but you can't be expected to achieve that every year!

Worst player in the premiership at the moment mate. He is and has been a liability this season. Name me one prem team that would play him in that position. No one, even for free. Sad but true.

Come off it, Palace's equivalent is Mile sodding Jedinak. As if that useless Fellaini-a-like is better than Gerrard.

When you consider the multitude of utterly shit managers and sides Liverpool have had down the years, it really does take a special manager to preside over their worst start to a season in 22 years.

It won't happen but their lack of scoring capacity and inability to defend has all the hallmarks of a relegation battling side.

The worst thing for Rodgers is that they've actually been more fortunate than unfortunate in games. Pretty much every game they've dropped points from have been deserved whereas So'ton and QPR they were very lucky. Take those results away and they're in the relegation zone.

A truly spectacular fall from grace (although last season was a false position, every possible star aligned)

Rodgers must really hate Balotelli. Balotelli is a dressing room virus and is only there to pick up the money. Rodgers could have gone for players like Bony Huntelar, Cavani, Berahino, Lukaku, jackson Martinez etc.....If given time though Rodgers will definitely get it right. If Liverpool had a striker now they'd be much better

Oh how they all laughed at the Moyes of last season. They laughed at the 5-3 Leicester....

Schadenfreude and Karma are the most devastating front line in football.

Oh, "LOL Ballotelli..."

tbf, and this point has been said before too, he isn't a shit manager but not as good as he thinks of himself. Next month or so will be critical for him to retain the job.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers on Match of the Day:

"We made a really good start to the game - Rickie Lambert got his first goal with a terrific finish. We made the perfect start but failed to manage the game at 1-0.

"We are very, very disappointed with the performance and the result and as the manager it is something I need to take full responsibility for.

"Our confidence is not high at the moment, we do not see speed in the passing and we have to work even harder. It is a difficult moment, a tough time because of the results and we have to make sure we retain one focus - that of getting better and improving and very, very quickly because games come thick and fast."

On Raheem Sterling: "He's played a lot of games. There is a lot of pressure on the young player. He's not an unknown and is a marked player. Raheem's confidence is not quite as high and the intensity not quite as high. He's an outstanding talent - he's going to have little spells like that."

On Mario Balotelli: "Mario came back from the Italy squad and it was still sore [groin] - we will assess that over the next few days."

On getting back to basics: "The confidence is low - we need to find a way. This has been a new phase - a lot of games, a lot less preparation time. We can't complain - we have to find a way to get results and show real size and power of the club. We need to get back to the basics."

On his future at the club: "I'm not arrogant to think I'll be in a job through anything. You have to win games and results. I've got a great communication line with the owners - we are honest and open with each other. I know that we have to get results and perform. The owners have to see development on the field - our development has been very good and fast. I will only ever do my best - I need to fight even harder and take responsibility."

He sounds a bit lost and doesn't know what to do, dealing with the pressure almost Moyes like.

This is where managers like Ferguson and Mourinho make their money.

They'll end the season at 5th or 6th. They might even challenge for fourth. This has been a crazy season. Today them, yesterday Arsenal. Spurs aren't that good as well. Heck, we 'struggled' to beat an awful Arsenal.

That's twice he has messed up in a window with strikers.

In summer 2012 he done the same.

"I don't think there is pressure on ourselves, only what we have from within," Rodgers famously said in April. "Look at Tottenham, when you spend over £100m you'd expect to be challenging for the league."

Someone should mention this quote in his next presser.

He's a good coach I think. Starting to doubt whether he's a good overall manager.

Massive pressure on him now. The money he's spent is just unforgivable really when you look at how they've regressed.

His complete inability to sort out the defence suggests otherwise.

someone should put 'brenton rodgers football genious' banner when we play them in december.
Bastard! I was about to post that! That would be funny as feck it has to be done!

It has to be done with this pic too!

After they laughed at us the whole last season the least we can do is now laugh at them and their manager.

I think he's definitely a very good manager, but he's obviously got some problems in that there's issues in this side he's really got to address in January. As big a cliche as it is, that'll be his biggest test as a manager yet I expect.
