His tranfer record is fecking shite. Moyes got killed for 2 bad signings, this guy has brought a army load full of shit.

Yet they are still ahead of us on points!
We are going in very different directions though. I think people underrate the sheer weight of injuries we had at the start of the season, particularly in defence. Although it seems like the injury list has eased considerably one quick glance at physioroom shows we are still topping that list.

Liverpool should have gone all out in the summer and tried to bring in one or two TOP players, to make up for Suarez's departure and push on. I have no idea whose decision it was to just buy a load of squad players but it could bite them on the arse as I can't see them making top 4 with their squad.

Rodgers is a dick but I wouldn't expect Liverpool to make top four with their squad regardless of manager so I think the criticism is a bit harsh. He's hardly reaching Moyes levels of disastrous underachievement.

It's his squad. Any shortcomings are entirely down to him given how much he has spent. Not making top 4 will bring entirely deserved criticism.

Criticising the man aside, it will be interesting to see what he does if Liverpool do have a really poor season. Or if he gets the chance to do something.

I couldn't disagree with this any more.

As for the bolded bit - less than the other big clubs (net) - plus that's investment into a side that a couple years ago was lingering in middle table and didn't have European competitions to worry about.

They obviously aimed to bolster and strengthen the squad, which is fine, but they should have looked to get at least one really top player and establish themselves as a big player again - not just taking punts on a bunch of medium priced players. I assume that's a board level decision. Meanwhile his rival managers have been able to go out and bring in the likes of Fabregas, Costa, Falcao, Di Maria, Sanchez etc. Rodgers can't compete with that. He lost his only world class talent last season, and of his next 3 best players - one is over the hill, one if young n' learnin', and the other is injured.

I think it's very unrealistic expectations that people have on Rodgers and Liverpool this season. It's such short term thinking. If a club buys a few punts and a couple come good then the manager is heralded as a genius, if they don't come off suddenly the manager is a fool and needs to go.

Liverpool would be absolutely nuts to let Rodgers leave. He's clearly a talented manager and a young manager at that (the same age as Ryan Giggs). He's done well so far - Liverpool should have capitalized on last season and bolstered their squad enough to compete with the big boys even sans Suarez.

Awful again. He's adamant he wants to play 433 now that Suarez has gone and that will take time. Costing us at the moment though.

Unwatchable at the moment.
No...very watchable and highly entertaining! I thought Brenty was a tactical genius? What's happened?

and to add that LVG has only been in control for 4 months and this is now Brenty's 3rd season!

His insistence in embedding a totally new way of playing from last season is wearing on the players. They don't know what the hell to do. Looks like he wants to ditch the diamond and two upfront even when Sturridge is back. And he wants his players to quickly learn this.

He was a tactical genius for the last 18 months, Suarez or no Suarez. Whether he repeats that you and I will have to wait and see at the end of this season. Get your ROFLCOPTERS ready.

His tactical nouse was overstated. A diamond, a front three or 3 at the back or whatever, the tactic was always the same. Blow them away early and see the game out. Failing that Suarez would do something.

Any manager that could get our bunch of rabble from years of midtable mediocrity to almost winning the league has to be lauded. Plus the second half of his first season was some of the most beautiful football I have ever seen us play. Coutinho and Sturridge were just jaw-droppingly awesome, way before Suarez became a big player and the introduction of the diamond formation.

I will agree Liverpool played some fantastic football last season. Its not all down to Suarez leaving. I think the fact he did not win the title when it was all but certain has sucked the confidence from not just him but his players.

All due respect Dumb, but that wouldnt have been hard though man. Pool havent played anywhere near the football the played in their plomb... i.e. before the back-pass rule was introduced!

basically correct. He lost Suarez and Sturridge is injured. That is still no excuse for the complete lack of form they have shown. If anything he added players to his squad and it is up to him to get the best out of them.

Not saying the board should sack him. But it is entirely Rodgers fault the way Liverpool are playing.

You're still shit, we're just shit now too. The tables haven't turned, we've just decided to join you at yours.

Odd time to 'decide' to join us. And pretty poor judgemnet to be fair. Why not 'join' us while we we champions two years ago?

Rodgers spent something like £115m & he spent it like Rafa did - quantity over quality. He's to blame - unless he comes out & says "we couldnt attract the best players around.." to get him off the hook.

Rodgers' obsession with Southampton during the Summer, was just laughable. I think Rodgers confused Southampton with Dynamo Kiev back in the day...

He said: “For me, it started for Ronaldo when I saw him training the night before the game.

“It was hammering it down with rain and it was freezing cold, but I saw images of him smiling and happy.

“I also saw Cristiano just before the game and he was just stood there on the pitch, just taking all of it in, drinking his water and probably loving being back in England again.

“When he was ready to go to work, he threw the bottle away and he went to work.

Sums him up, the odd cnut.

They did actually try to add a superstar or two (Sanchez, Di Maria, Falcao, Reus) but their lure wasn't enough, for one reason or another.
