And apart from Sturridge and Coutinho, no other signing could be counted as a good signing so far.

I bet you typed this out and thought it was a really good response, smiling to yourself as you hit 'post reply', completely oblivious to the irony of suggesting the shit table is Uniteds.

You swapped tables last season.

Loads of money on loads of average players, then complain that the league is corrupt when they perform averagely..... its the Liverpool way.

Christmas is coming up, Stevie G's annual '2 or 3 quality players short/confident for next year' interview must even be scheduled at this stage.

I thought he was ok last season, although the opposition had yere attack to worry about.
Most of the liverpool team has been shit this season.

He was good up until Christmas. Really good at times. Then he made a few big mistakes against City and Chelsea and since then hasn't looked anywhere near the same.

What I don't get is how Manquillo is not playing

He is surely better than Glen Johnson

He is. Johnson and Skrtel are undrinkable under Rodgers though (not that we have much choice with Skrtel).

Edit: undrinkable? Cheers autocorrect. Undroppable.

Allen and Toure have been good additions.

Barney they are average players who do decent jobs. Is Allen any better than Shelvey or Toure any better than Agger who were both already there? It is the same as Mignolet is he any better than Reina certainly not £10-£15m worth better. That's about £20-£30m replacing 3 players who haven't improved your team!

Allen is better than Shelvey for what we ask him to do. Toure isn't better than Agger, but you don't keep Agger on £120k pw on the bench as fourth choice. Agger and Toure weren't competing for the same position either. Reina and Mignolet are at a similar level now. We spent £24m and recouped around £13m with those signings and the wage bill will have been massively reduced.

So you got £5m for Shelvey and £3m for Agger! Did you get £5m for Reina? The point being Toure will be on a decent wage and Allen will be on more than Shelvey was on also! So as much as you want to dress it up buddy that money wasn't greatly spent!

Brilliant stuff. I'm waiting for him to remove his Rodgers mask to reveal Moyes underneath.

It's all gone tits up for the Dippers since this...

Allen was very good last season when he played.

He was good at times last season - the odd good performance where he did the simple things well - nothing he does really make him stand out from an average player who racks up ggreat passing percentages - he didn't start that many games, was a sub lots and he was ok in a dynamic Liverpool team

Season 1 he was ok, this season pretty poor

Overall you'd give his career at Liverpool Liverpool a 5 or 6/10 at best - an underwhelming player who would look half decent in the midfield of any side playing really well - Shelvey - who you sold for half of what you paid for Allen is a superior player and was a victim of Rodgers wanting one of his old players in

How brilliant would it be to knock them out of the top 4 and display a 'Brendan Rodgers - Football Genius' banner when we play them!

Anyway, it's fun how things have panned out for them. First that fantastic slip that has broken thousands of hearts and disturbed mental stability of many dippers ( to be observed i.a. here ) and now this season. Sold Shituarez, bought a sack of shit players and added clown like Bibotelli who simply spices it up.

It's all a bit Emperors New Clothes with Rodgers. Some of the praise he was getting for not winning the league last season was way over the top.

The suspicion was always that he dined out on Suarez, but I don't think anyone realised to what extent.

Right now he's combining all the worst aspects of previous regimes. Hodgson's shit football, Rafa's shit transfer policy and Dalglish's delusion.

They've loaned him out to Atletico.

He's on loan from Atlético .

Oh damn, I stand corrected then, cheers for that.

No idea why they don't play him then. Johnson could be another scouse hero like Slippy G, undroppable and so on.
No probs.

Yet they are still ahead of us on points!

I do think he was flattered by suarez last season, who lifted everyone around him.

But Brentan is offering now what I expected him too. Exactly what he offered at swansea. a raft of poor signings, and plenty of possession around the halfway line without any clue what to do up top or at the back.

This is exactly how his swansea team played.
