A lot of us called it in the summer, after El Cnuto left, that they would struggle with no Suarez and a fading Stevie Starfish. The summer transfer dealings have been a disaster and there is no pace in the side at all. Yes things could be better with Sturridge but still I dont think they will get much higher than 6th/7th

So, apparently Rodgers has new teeths and uses fake tan. Anyone confirm this?
No, actually he has a long history of Spanish roots, hence his natural skin colour and his fluent Spanish. And his teeth are Sir Bob Paisley's first set. They were passed down in the YAWN-tradition of the club. Nothing goes to waste. That's why they haven't disposed of Stevie G. yet...

sturridge will make a difference...but Rodgers seems not all that tactically acute though.

Carnlough was indeed settled by a bunch of Spanish sailors who wrecked their ship after a night on the piss

You're still shit, we're just shit now too. The tables haven't turned, we've just decided to join you at yours.
I bet you typed this out and thought it was a really good response, smiling to yourself as you hit 'post reply', completely oblivious to the irony of suggesting the shit table is Uniteds.

His transfer market dealings is nothing short of shambolic, 120m and the team looks even poorer!

I think its very easy to forget that Rodgers has a loooooong way go as a manager. He's style of play has won him rave reviews so far but last season as we are now starting to realise was due to a number of factors including his influence of course(which I'm coming to realise was a tad overstated).

Really? huh...well no need to worry then normal service will resume when he gets back.

One upside in Rodgers getting fired would be the probability of Mighty Red disappearing or getting redesigned

I have a theory on Mighty Red.

I think he was the product of a competition by local primary schools to design the new mascot and Rodgers was chosen to decide the winner.

Rodgers recognised something in that design that he respected, a greatness that he couldn't quite put his finger on.

Only if you're a goldfish with altzheimers.

The lack of self awareness in this post is staggering. Anyway welcome back.

Inspector Clouseau.

He doesnt have the profile to attract big names but he hasnt helped himself no doubt. Yes they needed depth but he supplemented that with prospects galore.

It's not even about signing big names, he's just signing players who have a lot of question marks on them or who are bang average, and he's doing it for a lot of money. For example, 20m for Lovren is madness, for that amount there are better players he could have got.

His record was better without Suarez...

The sample size is too small to judge.

This sort of things really show up over the course of a season. I remember a stat showing United did better without Roy keane in the team prior to his injury in Sep 97. It was only over the course of a whole season that his true value became clear(not that any United fan doubted it would).

Awful again. He's adamant he wants to play 433 now that Suarez has gone and that will take time. Costing us at the moment though.

Unwatchable at the moment.

Why has he sent Andre Wisdom away on loan again?

He looks better than any Liverpool defender currently.

He'd look just as shite if he was here. It's not (just) about individuals - anyone would look exposed in our system and when they're coached by us.

Just seems a strange move keep loaning him out when he looks decent and bringing in two new young full backs who don't look all that in my opinion?

Wisdom would look lost in that Liverpool team as well. He isn't all that. West Brom is probably his level.

Possibly. I guess as a United fan though I just like to give young British players a chance. It is what I am used to. I need to appreciate that clubs like Liverpool would sooner go down the foreign route these days though sadly.

Rentaquote Mullenstein made an interesting point the other day. He said Rogers biggest mistake was not upgrading his coaching and backroom staff over the summer, says he should have brought someone with CL experience in.

I don't think he'll end up staying as a full back. Don't think he should, at least. He's done well from what I've seen at West Brom but he was poor technically at Liverpool and looked like a centre back playing out of position.

Manquillo and Alberto Moreno I think will be much better, though the latter had a poor game today.

I have seen him in part and he has done well at WBA so far. Manquillo has looked okay but I am not convinced by Moreno. He has performed like a real mixed bag in my opinion.

Rene still angling for a new job I see.
