Fully agree with you in terms of expectations for the young boy.

To be more clear on his dribbling, I think it's above average and quite good for a player his age, unlike the finishing which I would call one of his weaknesses.

Remembering one year ago, Martial was hardly known as a world beater around here and his videos were more about flashes of brillance than dozend of beautiful goals/assists. I think the comparisons are not that far off.
Martial obviously took huge steps this year.
And forward who has above average dribbling and poor finishing. Sounds shit mate.

Memepay played really well against the Plumbers. That's why he has an amazing percentage of dribbles per game. But, yeah, we can't evaluate his performance with those numbers.

Don't know who he is but picked him up in my Master League for PES 2016. Turns into a real beast.

Looks like Mourinho's got a copy of my save file. I am playing a 3-5-2 with a first team consisting

Martial, Embolo
Coman, Draxler, Griezmann, Pogba, Berardi
Laporte, Bailly, Blind
Perin

We are getting there...

Why are people so sure that this is a Jose's work? It could be scout work done by previous era and now endorsed by Jose, who knows?

Why have 1 Martial on your team when you could have two! Embolo is slightly worse at dribbling, but i think he has the better final ball vs. Martial. His finishing needs some work, but if he's played at RW won't matter as much. Similar athleticism to Martial which will be very nice in a counter attacking team in the PL. Safest bet out of the U20 forward talent available, smart move Jose.

He had 13 goals and 11 assists (could be more, it was 11 back in March and I can't find anymore stats on it) last season. Not a bad output for a 19 year old as he mostly played on the right wing.

The fact that we've barely been linked to Embolo makes my inner muppet hopeful this might be on. Our recent transfer business has been conducted with minimal fuss and media speculation (thinking Martial and Bailly here).

Where are people getting this from?? According to transfer market, he played the same number of games upfront and on the wings, has 8 goals as a striker(1 assist) and 5 goals as a winger(8 assists).

I did catch few games of Basel where this guy play. His dribbling is no where Martial esque. His dribbling is not that impressive against weak opponent like Memphis neither. His is like kick and rush. He is fast no strong so it gives a boost in stat. Not something fancy that leaves opponent on ground or completely out of play.

He has potential and physique to be good central forward. However, the expectation should not be on Martial level. I personally rate him on the same level of Origi when he first burst into the scene, promising, great attribute but has a lot to prove and far from sure success. Even if we get him signed, I see him going on loan for a season or two. Rashford may be not overall better and still has a long way to go, but Rashford has this instinct to lose the marker and sniff the goal that this guy doesn't really boast. Rashford can manage to get involved a lot even if he can't nail a starting spot as impact sub.

He started 5 games on the right and 2 games up front in Europa League according to whoscored. His appearances on the right wing in Swiss League though is purely based on what Basel fans said about him.

I think that the Special one is aiming to emulate his tactics with Inter where he had two converted strikers (ie Pandev-Etoo) on the flanks, constantly cutting in and changing the system from 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1

 That team would get destroyed.

As the Swiss Storm Jewel Breel Embolo then also made known that he, the English Premier League canceling in subsequent days and the German Bundesliga now quite come Rangnick / Mintzlaff talked cheerfully her peppermint tea bag in hot water and were almost sure: wait and see, the Breel we get.
Then came a certain Jose Mourinho and traipsed legs through the small kitchen. The coach of Manchester United rose suddenly in the running for the European Football Cup Embolo a not lured with operating times or the (nonexistent) stimuli of the city: he lured with long bills.
And already got mixed the preferences of Mr Embolo and its consultants. RB would have pulled the trigger a little over three million euros per year for the 19-year-old man from FC Basel get done and up to 20 million euro transfer fee. Three million salary cashed at United the Greenkeeper, so should the good Breel get five to six Mios. As of today: RB's out of the race and looks, well, askance towards Breel.

 Any Germans that can tell how legit this source is?

No idea about the source, but the report says (they are amazingly bitter, it sounds like it's written by a supporter ):

Rangnick and Mintzlaff fought weeks for Embolo, tried to sell him the city, the club and the environment best for his development, but then Jose Mourinho offered more money (they are insulting the city of Manchester  and more or less argue that he won't get any game time at all) – they reckon he could earn around €5-6m compared to the €3m proposed by Leipzig. As of today Leipzig have dropped out of the race to sign the Swiss talent.

Also say the groundsman earns 5-6M euros at United as well

IRL muppet tears

As much as I hope its true as I think he has the attributes to be a top player I am not going to get my hopes up just yet
It would make sense to do the deal before the Euros though as a couple of games could see his price rocket so i will keep my fingers crossed for the next few days

20M euros equates to £15.66M, in today's market that is really good business.

That will probably rise since it is us though, at the very minimum the English press will make sure to report it as £20m.

That article is even more hilarious when people remember the RB stands for Red Bull and everyone in Germany hates them.

Having watched and followed Embolo's development for the past 7 years, I still don't know anything about him outside of a couple of youtube clips.

So yeah, sign him up!

Exactly. Red Bull are worse than City or PSG, a construct for its owner Mateschitz to promote his brand. Hilarious report, but on the other hand I bet the author has solid info, it would explain his bitterness IMO.

Technically the RB stands for Rasenball.

Yeah, "technically" because they are not allowed (50+1 rule) to call it Red Bull. What happens if it's allowed can be seen in Salzburg... changed the club, changed the colours, changed the name, changed the crest, wanted to abandon the history of the club he took over (Mateschitz wanted to start with 2005, the year when he took over – but the Bundesliga in Austria did not allow it) and went on war with the old supporters.

I hope we sign Embolo, just to have a laugh at Red Bull and Mateschitz only would be enough for me

He fits the profile of players we should be looking at - quick, strong and skillful. Obviously we could do with players who can instantly take the league by storm but getting the player of the right mould but not the finished article, is the next best thing.

I know this guy has been very highly rated for a bit now, and whenever I watch his clips he does look a big talent.

Hes nothing like Martial stylistically, odd comparison. More Balotelli.
