Again, that's fine. I've done it plenty of times myself. I don't have a problem if people think a player is good enough or bad enough. It's a forum after all. It's the extrapolation I don't really get and I mean it in both ways. If a poster is impressed, they immediately say he's the new someone, if he's not, they immediately say he's the new someone else. I understand the natural compulsion to compare to a well known player, but just feels like all of that is a touch unnecessary.

I think, if this is even true, it'd be a good signing but maybe some of the talents from Brazil would be good to sign too.

As for that huge talent Sanches, I don't see any of your posts in his thread stating you wanted us to sign him, just skepticism.

If we signed him today, he'd instantly become our second most explosive player and I would guarantee that he starts every game.
It's the first game that I saw from him and he seems alright. For a 19 years old, he had a decent performance.

If we are going to pay this for him, will he start or is he going to be on the bench. Isn't Jose supposed to be looking at our kids not spending millions on other people kids. We could be trying our own kids and spending the money on players who will make us challenge for the title. We need to be challenging straight away.

And from what I've seen I'd put Rashford ahead of Enbolo too. Because Rashford has already 3/4 months of PL experience including some big games and under real pressure, his touches/flicks in and around the box are much better, he also has shown he can take on players and glide past PL quality players and more importantly, he's a cool finisher which is one of Embolo's biggest weaknesses.
That's not to say we shouldn't be buying Embolo. I'm all for stockpiling young promising talents as long as the price is reasonable (although I never cared about the price because it's not my money and I'd rather see club investing the money than Glazers' lining their own pockets).
Thought he looked OK in this video actually, He is 6ft and 13 stone 2 according to whoscored. If he has pace, does anyone know? He certainly has all the raw ingredients to be a Mourinho and PL player.

No, there's no such mandate. If he rates Embolo higher than Lingard or whatever other RW kid we have, then he's being sensible by picking Embolo over them. Besides, if Jose is signing this kid, he obviously considers him a future star.
And we can challenge straight away while signing a healthy mix of players of various ages. Going by reports we're after Ibra too. Or are we only supposed to sign 25+ players? If Jose is smart, he'll sign more than 1 attacking midfielder. Why can 1 of them be young?
There's rumours about RB going for Werner instead so there could be something in this, apparently the Swiss commentators have been saying all day he's joining us.

The way snap judgements are being made, you would think scouts that see the same player over and over again are just indecisive incompetents.

Watching those highlights I thought he looked decent. Good pace, seems to be pretty strong and direct. A lot of what we lacked last season. He lost the ball a few times but its to be expected from a young player in a big tournament.
I think our team would look much more physical next season if we have Bailly, Zlatan and Embolo and also would have more pace should Bailly replace Blind and Embolo replace Mata. It would make us resemble a Mourinho team a lot more and would put to bed the theory that Mourinho won't give youth a go if we have Bailly and Embolo as his first two signings.

I am also firmly in the camp of new players being given at least a
season before being judged but we simply can't be dismissive of
legitimate concerned raised about the performances of the players
you have mentioned .
Most of the supporters who might be writing of Depay , Darmian ,Schneiderlin or Schweinsteiger are not doing that because they didn't perform as well Martial but because their performances over the season varied between extremely poor and mostly average.
Commentators have no information. They just go off the media reports like us. I remember last year a commentator commenting when Spurs rested Kane in a preseason game that 'United have bid for him and a transfer is in progress' or something like that. It turned out it wasn't true
Nothing wrong with his performance, was bright. A few nice touches, he looks strong, fast and composed. He also looks like he tracks back, he's always on the move looking for the ball. I've said this for ages, I would love him here, the future is bright for him.
It's not fair to say they have been poor when the average performancez from most of the team has been poor as well.. I agree that they haven't been the best but neither have they been the worst all season.. they've had their bad moments but don't deserve to be called flops yet
He seems well built. Used the ball well. Shielded the ball well. Got a great reception from the Swiss fans, they obviously rate him. As with one of the previous posts, Martial was on the pheriphary of the game last night yet we know what a player he is. I'd like to see him (embolo) start the next game.
Aye. I have seen a couple of other vids now, it seems he is pretty quick. He has some fantastic chest control too at times.
