Television Breaking Bad

He cofounded the company with Elliot but sold his stake for $5000 before it really took off. When Walt spoke to Jesse about it I think he said thr company was now worth $2.4bn

I knew that much but why the bad blood? Did Walt think he deserved money from them? The only other thing I remember is they originally had promised to pay for his medical bills but Walt wouldn't accept the money.

Woah. That was feckin depressing. I mean from Jessie witnessing Andrea taking one in the back of the head to Walt begging Robert Forster to stay a couple more hours with him.

All I can say is there is a hell of a lot of people to meet their maker next week.

Jesse has to kill Todd now. There is no other way for that to be resolved. I think he'll end up having Walt at his mercy too but won't do it.

They hurt his pride and character and when people do that he turns into Heisenberg.

Walt getting angry at the end was ace. His pride always wins against his conscience. Walt Jr though....

Todd has gone up a few levels of awesome this season but still a prick. I went from being pissed at Jesse all season to feeling really sorry for him. Good acting and good build up to it too. Also glad to see Lydia even if it was briefly

I'd want to kill everyone too after a month with two copies of Mr Magoriums Wonder Emporium.

 Not a good film then? I was thinking maybe it was in joke and one of the cast is in it or something.

Saw this on twitter -
'next weeks finale is titled "Felina"
Fe (Iron) Li (Lithium) Na (Sodium),
Or, Blood, Meth & Tears. Also an anagram for 'finale'

Interesting stuff...

I've heard that before but think it's bollocks personally. What does Lithium have to do with methamphetamine?

Also an anagram of how a kid Vato would hate might try to spell elephant.

Fantastic episode. It dealt with the time lapse exceptionally well and kept us on a fair old pace story wise too.

Aaron Paul was incredible during the scene where Andrea died, completely believable performance. Robert Forster was a great bit of casting too.

As much as Todd is a cold mother fecker it's Lydia that seems to have the least amount of morals in the show, although Jack isn't too far behind. Lydia is much prettier than Jack though so it makes it more unbelievable, although I'm a sucker for a pretty smile.

Awesome stuff. Superb ending that sets it up well. Can't wait for the finale but also don't want it to end.

I'd been re-watching some older eps beforehand, so when I switched it on they were displaying a shot from the last one I watched. I'm definitely doing that next week.

Anyone know what it was this week?

Not sure if it's because I'm sharing a Netflix account with my mate but the fecking thing was paused about 26 minutes into the episode and there was a shot of (obviously Todd) in a balaclava in a room with Skylar FFS.

I'm gonna try that rewatch thing...or at least beat my mate to the episode.

Not sure why people are saying there's nothing to tie Walt to anything. There's loads. I said this when Hank got Jesses confession a few episodes back. It obviously didn't fit the dramatic arc of the story but at that point he could've gone digging on Madrigal, the train heist etc... and fecked everyone. I assume Lydia doesn't know about Jesses tape because she damn sure seemed concerned about Skylar.

its been really fantastic

the writers have been brilliant so far and I think (and hope) next week's final episode will be a fitting end

they will struggle to tie up all the loose ends in an hour long episode

There's not that many loose ends is there? I don't think every single thing needs "closure".

No, not at all. There's Ted...feck him. Huell...do we need to know that he's not still sitting in a house somewhere? I guess Saul is gone now. I reckon the spray paint and derelict house is insignificant too.

I'd like to see something from Marie actually and some closure on Hanks death. They could at least be told where his body is by Walt.

£10 says that Jesse kills Todd and uses the word bitch whilst doing it.

I think Walt will kill that gang and free Jesse

I so want the last bit to happen.

All the talk here is about Todd, but actually I think the guy playing his uncle has acted really well.

Great episode again. The only thing that would've stopped this show from being one of the all-time greats would've been a poor ending, but unless they really screw up next week, which is unlikely, then that isn't going to happen and we'll get a great ending.

I thought one of the standout scenes was Walt/Saul. I knew Walt was going to repeat his line from earlier in series 5 and thought that might have been a bit cheesy and cliched, but breaking down into a coughing fit was excellent. Showed how weak and powerless he'd become, but then that scene at the end looked like a man who meant business. After the phonecall, it's like he's going to just transform into Heisenberg one last time to deal with the gang, even if he goes out in the process.

Due to him looking so weak I also kind of felt some sympathy for Walt again. Considering I've hated him for most of this season, I didn't expect that, but I couldn't help but feel sorry for him when on the phone to his son.

Anyway, for the finale: Walt will kill the Nazis and save Jesse in the process, with Jesse hopefully getting his own personal revenge over Todd. They may have broken ties, but they have something in common in that they both hate these men as they've taken someone close from them. After saving him, I can see Walt asking Jesse to simply put him out of his misery. I'm interested to see how we actually finish with Walt and whether we'll see him die or not. We know he's heading for death, but whether we'll see it happen or not is interesting. I don't think we'll see all loose ends tied up, but there's a few still in there that I imagine will be resolved, such as Saul and what he does etc.

It's always been hinted at that him and Gretchen had something and he mainly just wanted to sell his shares to get away from that I think, and probably didn't cop it would ever get so big.

Up until now it's probably mainly just been bitterness over the whole thing as it seems he was the brains behind it, not Elliot (there's a flashback of him and Gretchen in a lecture hall in season one that alludes to that), so I assume for them to now say his input was so minimal is probably a massive insult to him.

Not really seeing this whole ricin is for Elliot and Gretchen theory a lot of people seem to be going to now. Surely for him to be able to poison them with the ricin he'd have to slip it to them secretly somehow, its hardly like as a wanted drug lord and murderer he can just go to their house and make a cup of tea to put it in whilst they have a nice conversation.

Just saw the ending again. Absolutely loved it. The anger on his face and then the music kicking in.

Another fantastic episode. Everything was perfect.

I think that this season has been the best ever season in any TV show and Breaking Bad has passed even The Wire Imo. The bad news is that there will be only one other episode and then it will end. But there will be rewatches, surely.

The longer version of the theme tune at the end was very cool. Even the minor things they do are quality, it's good that they're ending the show at the top of their game rather than stretching it too far and running it into the ground.

I definitely think it might be the best final season of any show. They've been wrapping up things nicely in terms of both plot and themes, while still managing to build up the tension more and more. Unpredictable too, though not in a way that streches credibility too much.

Not since The West Wing ended have I been so gutted that a TV show is nearing its finish. They are certainly going out in style though.

I really hope Jesse gets his hands on Todd. I never like him, not even in Firday Night Lights.

They'll hopefully show a flashback of where things went wrong with Grey Matter but it seems pretty clear that his relationship with Gretchen was at the heart of it. In that "feck you" scene in the coffee shop with Gretchen he talked about her and Elliot cutting him out while Gretchen said something about Walt inexplicably leaving her high and dry at her/his parents' house or something, I think. In any case there's obviously resentment over the fact that Elliot got the girl and the money.

Feel sorry for Walt, he made his bed and all but can't see a reconciliation with the family - think that's the thing that hurts him the most

It hasn't even been the best season of Breaking Bad! 4 was.

Some amazing individual episodes but I don't think overall it's clicked together like season 4 did or (the 2 best on my eyes) season 4 of The Wire and Band of Brothers.

I knew it was going to be something crap after the 2 brilliant pics before but it still made me laugh

This season should have been split over another two seasons. In fact, possibly just the last 5 episodes could have been. A lot of fantastic characters have been wasted as we move into final season crunch time (note I don't mean killed off early).

Still, it's absolutely brilliant.

It's always best to go off on a high note. Show is ending at the perfect time

I wasn't a huge fan of the final season if the wire.
