Television Breaking Bad

Nah, not buying that,

If they wanted to kill Jesse then Gus would have let him drink the poisoned drink, and Mike certainly wouldn't have instructed Jesse to pick up a gun.

....Because having 3 people incase something goes wrong is better than 2 clearly -_-

Only do it when you know(well assume in this case) you are home and dry.

Yeah, but you wouldn't expect that having an untrained, fairly inexperienced guy there would do them much good (although as it happened it did), you wouldn't plan for that, and telling him to arm himself when you're planning to pull a gun on him in about a minute would be a big risk.

I definitely noticed that gun was going up while watching the show, only because for some reason I thought it was weird that Jesse was going around the front of the car. No idea why I thought that was weird. I just did.

Edit: On rewatch I think it was because Mike told Jesse "Go" which made me assume Jesse was going to drive.

For a second I saw the gun go up and then after the shot I thought Jesse had sensed it and spun around and shot Mike actually.

I was on such high alert for this episode. The entire time I was expecting everyone to whip out guns and start shooting. By "entire time" I mean the entire time from the beginning of the episode to the end, not just when they were at the Don's house. On the helicopter. At the lab. At the house.

I was expecting the present to be a bomb and knew the drink was going to be poisoned whether or not Gus drank it. You can trick yourselves so many times over the course of these episodes. Maybe I should just watch when I'm really tired like I normally do.

Great episode

I don't buy that bit. Breaking Bad has never been about those little things that they want internet fanboys to spot, like Lost was.

It was such a risky plan though, for someone like Gus who is always so careful. To have to go and make himself get sick around 45 seconds before he's due to die is madness really.

I think I enjoyed this more than any episode this season, and it didn't have Walt in it much, which leads me to believe he just pisses me off lately, where as Mike, Jesse and Gus are all fantastic on screen.

No Hank though

Not to mention the scenes that did have Walt and Junior in them were pretty amazing.

I'm rooting for Jesse this season, Walt has nothing to bring to the show anymore (note the name Heisenberg wasn't mentioned much recently). And yes, the plot to screw the cartel at its backyard was ludacris but thats where suspension of disbelief kicks in.

Great episode, almost feel like I should've left it to watch the last two back to back. People'll probably complain about it being a slow episode and having too much of Walt or something, but it just never disappoints for me.

Those last 10 minutes...best I've seen on television.

The acting by Bryan Craston in the end.. can not believe this is the same guy who played that buffon in Malcom in the middle... Another Emmy sewed up for me.

Logically Walt should just shoot Jesse to save himself.. but his last episode's monologue to his real son showed that he considers Jesse as his son as well... I do not think the show will go there as well, Jesse will be too big a character to lose before the last season even starts...

:nono: We've been through this already, Cranston was brilliant in Malcolm In The Middle! Incidentally, those last few minutes of the episode was probably the closest thing Walt's ever been to Hal (his MITM character) :smirk:

Other than that, I agree with your thoughts on what will happen. What an episode that was!

That's what he's saying, isn't it? Cranston was brilliant as a buffoon in Malcolm in the Middle and he's brilliant here. The man is just an overall brilliant actor.

Read jveezy's response... he is obviously a great actor.. but very few times an actor who has done so well in a comic role gets to play such a dramatic role.. when Breaking Bad started as a dark comedy (still has shades that),, I though it was apt that he was cast as main lead but since the end of season 2 it has been full blown drama. Could have never imagined him playing such a character when BB started, it is akin to imagining GOB from Arrested Development in a similar role!

Ah yes, my apologies, I completely misread your post. I for some reason thought you were saying that he wasn't good in MITM. But yeah, I completely agree, the transformation is absolutely stunning. Can't come up with any comparable actors that have shown the same kind of range from the top of my head.

And to your GOB comment:  It's spot on!

I saw Drive the other day, and Cranston delivers another another fine performance in the supporting cast of an also otherwise great movie. And he has hair again.

He also plays a dentist in Seinfeld (you can find the clips on youtube).

How do we see it playing out then?

I've got a sneaky feeling that by the end of it Gustavo is dead and Walt remains. Not sure why I have this feeling though.

Everything would have been fine if Jessie hadn't disobeyed Gus regarding the kids getting involved in pushing. Hank should have parted company with him as soon as he had an opportunity.

You mean Walt, not Hank, surely.

Something will happen to remind Jesse just how little Gustavo values their lifes. Team BB will be reunited to bring down Fring and with the vacuum that will be left by his absence and his destruction of the cartel. Jesse and Walt will take over his empire as well as directing Mexico operations.

It is obvious Walt is going no where, another season left.

I also think they would not kill Jesse off, would be too bold a move before the last season even starts.

They are setting up the Jesse-Gus fall out by the whole Mike thing. I can see Walt blowing up the lab or something drastic like that.

I would be very surprised if Gus survives the finale this season. He has essentially had a proper swansong over the course of last few episodes.

Fcuk me, that was some episode!

Teds death

I wouldn't be surprised if Walts next move is to go and kill Jesse, without him they'll still need Walt, obviously I don't expect Jesse to die in it so I'm sure something will happen that'll end up reuniting them and going for Gus.

I assume now Jesse sees Gus so much that he'll end up poisoning him or just flat out killing him seeing as Mike is in hospital and can't do anything.

Skylar and the money was stupid, I assumed when she was giving Ted $617k that her and Walt already had millions there to use. Mainly because we found out Walt makes $240k a week. But then you add up the car wash, his and Hanks medical bills and it probably makes sense, though it still means he has only been doing that for Gus for around 3 months because he said in a previous episode he makes $7m a year which is shorter than I imagined.

Either way if they had around 700k of it left, Skylar giving that much to Ted is pure madness.

Oh and supposedly the fifth, and final season will be 16 episodes.

I reckon Gus will leave Mike to die in Mexico which will cause Jesse to turn on him.

Also yeah the entire Ted storyline was far fetched. It was a bit silly how Ted didn't seem to realise he was going to go to jail if he didn't stop acting like a knob. But I suppose they had to think of a way to rule out the option of Walt disappearing.

Yeah that was very annoying.

"You're going to jail if you don't pay the IRS that money Ted!"
"... nah I'll be fine, I'll just go lease me a Mercedes with it"

He didn't actually die did he? His finger was twitching.

Doesn't that usually imply death in TV shows? It's usually with the foot though

Maybe not, i guess they've left it open, which Gilligan does a lot with Breaking Bad in case he can bring stuff up again next season in an opening scene and everyone goes "Well feck me that was unexpected"

I think he's dead though, given how Walt was speaking.

Although ... if he did die, the 617k is still in his account? Perhaps Skylar can get that back to use.

Why would a twitching finger imply death? If anything I thought it would imply he's alive. My first guess was that maybe he's paralysed, or in a coma.

You mean the way Saul was speaking?

The money isn't in the account because Saul's ginger bloke said it was in the post.
