Boehly is going to ruin Chelsea (hopefully)

Cucirella is shiit. Their fans would probably riot if he was signed… They tried to help you with Lukaku and he is the one that rejected the deal.
And Mendy and Koulibaly are great?

They're going for unsettled Muslim players, not Chelsea players otherwise why no links to Mounts, Gallagher, Kepa or anyone else?

Saudi are chucking money everywhere, not just Chelsea. It'd be odd of they weren't going for Chelsea players.

Barring Ruben Neves, which club has received a transfer fee from Saudi clubs? That too for 1 player let alone 3.

And if you think selling 3 of our 80 players solves our FFP issues, I'll have some of what you're drinking.

Who else will pay a sizeable transfer fee for those 3 with those wages? It's the same situation we face with Maguire, Martial etc.

we (the uk) didnt bat an eyelid when twentysomethings children of dictators spend their gazillions in london. in fact the tories were quite happy for them to be paying 100k plus for a lunch / game of tennis with ministers. In the meantime middle eastern despots, taking a break from torturing queer folk back home, were coming over here to have tea with the late queen at buckingham palace, hiring out entire five star hotels in central london just to store their luggage, admire their lodgings (country estates / golf courses / horse-racing operations) dotted across the home counties, and then heading back with 10s of billions of pounds worth of weaponry.
Yep, let's not get into the politics of it all now because yeah, it's appalling the levels of dishonesty and corruption.

Because Muslim players are more likely to settle in Saudi...unlike say... Lukaku.

Cucurella is not Koulibaly. Saudi fans have heard of Koulibaly and Mendy before. Koulibaly, was among Serie A best defenders and one of Napoli captains for years... Mendy won a UCL for you and was UEFA goalkeeper of the year. It actually makes sense. But in current market dynamics they should be capable of landing them without paying any compensation, given how desperate you are to offload their wages.

If they pay fees for them it would be a bit shady, because they could target better players or similar level players (including muslim ones) for the same money.

I am not really buying the «mulsim » thing being that determining. They contacted Dybala, Kroos, Lukaku and many other non muslim stars. The “star factor“ is more important. (And maybe the Chelsea too?)

It's easy for them to buy our players who still has market and star value among world wide. The players also wanted to move and club looks to offload them as well. I don't think they will stop with chelsea alone. They will come and buy many more players from many other teams too. It's just a start for them. If you want to investigate then pl can investigate it too.

It's nothing todo with clearlake managing some pif funds. Why would pif want to help out chelsea when pif have own club in pl. Nufc have less competitor for top 4 if they don't help chelsea out.

Nothing logical about what you people are implying. Hey I will help chelsea out and create competition for my own club on the process. This is what you are all trying to imply. .

No offence but it must be tiring defending Chelsea and all your woes over the last 18 months and be on the wrong side of history time and time again

Not surprising that you'd be blinkered or in denial about this.

There was no one who would pay Chelsea any sort of fees, particularly for Koulibaly, when they have to carry those wages. The fact that Saudi is turning up at the exact moment and spending lavishly, when they could easily have squeezed Chelsea, is also a great coincidence.

I guess this is how sportswashing works. Deny till you die.

The fact your owner was off on a night out with Saudi movers and shakers last week gives it all away
Imagine getting 30m for a 31 year old on 300k a week with three years left on his contract.
Magical

Trust Chelsea to get bailed out of their hole by offloading their players to Saudi for obscene money with some shady deals. Once plastic, always plastic.

Oscar and Ramires to China.
A few more to Saudi.

You really don't know whether this is more scorn on Chelsea and their "ways" or if we want in!

It’s not luck, it’s a business plan. Saudis invested in Clearlake which got the Chelsea club sale done.

This was always the plan. Very clever how they have money in Newcastle and Chelsea now.

All players will take the money if they’re no longer wanted by the club.

I guess if anyone can spot being on the wrong side of history where Chelsea is concerned it's you!

I could not think of a worse option for Chelsea.
Its a shambles

Getting very sick of all the obvious corruption and rule skirting in football.

The web is there in plain view - it's being tested right now but if there's no challenge to this Chelsea firesale watch and see Newcastle sell Joelinton for £100m next season to Al-Hilal.

What Chelsea firesale? Who have we sold for more than a reasonable figure?

We're taking huge losses on Koulibaly and Ziyech if the reported figures are correct. Not sure of the Mendy figure but we're probably making a loss on that one as well.

If this is some big conspiracy, Chelsea are getting the fuzzy end of the lollipop.

Exactly, we also LOST Kante to Saudi. A player we wanted to keep and offered him a new deal.
Like you say if it was only Chelsea i could understand, but Wolves selling Neves and now Saudi want Ndidi from Leicester.

Without dismissing your theory, let's say Saudi wasn't in the picture, what do you think would've happened to Koulibaly and/or Mendy?

Do you not see a clear problem being solved for Chelsea by signing these players on big wages, who otherwise would've neither become sellable nor would've moved at a lower wage?

Let's see where this all shakes out but reports saying 4 players all going to Saudi is quite a big '?' for me - I kind of get Kante who has injury issues and frankly I don't think would get another top level European contract but Koulibaly, Mendy and Ziyech are different, they could go to CL clubs without much issue in my mind. I get they are Muslim players and also it's obscene amounts of money being offered to them but it seems a big coincidence given we know FFP rules changed to stop Boehly's long contracts and you need to sell players.

Not sure what your source for fee is but I've seen 30m EUR for Koulibaly which seems very good to me, he cost you 40m EUR and has been disappointing. Haven't seen anything for Ziyech but Milan offered reportedly about 15m EUR before and that was with the option their side to buy after a loan so a year later and having barely played you'd do extremely well to get that level again.

The only players that we'd struggle to shift (that we want to get rid of) without Saudi in the picture would be Lukaku and Koulibaly. The fees for the likes of Mendy and Ziyech would be less but there is much more of a market for them than the other two.

Koulibaly would definitely be a problem to shift on without the Saudi stepping up but Mendy? No chance there wouldn't be plenty of interest in him from European clubs.

Just so you know Mendy is currently on a salary of about £50-60K/wk and has a remaining book value of £8M so strictly financially speaking that would probably put him up for grabs to most clubs in the European top 5 leagues.

KK probably on loan but we'd have been able to flog Mendy and Ziyech in Europe.

If this was some big con, we'd be selling Cucu and Lukaku, not Ziyech and Mendy. If Mendy goes we need to buy another goalie.

In any other industry, you’d be accused of money laundering. Buying assets at way over their value.

Cucu and Lukaku wont go. Are you telling me that if Saudi came in for them then Chelsea wouldnt sell? Of course they would. Saudi are targeting players that are done at the top level. Lukaku can still play for inter and Cucu is only 24

Seen this on Twitter.

Seems applicable.

How much money have they spent on transfer fees. All there signings are free or low value except for this crazy Neves one.

Interesting loyalty for a man who took a team that finished 3rd with 74 points to 12th with a measly 44 points after spending over €600m on new players.

Neves alone will probably cost more in transfer fee than Koulibaly, Ziyech and Mendy put together.

But the summer is still young, I'm sure lots of clubs will get Saudi offers sometime in the near future for their players. Then it's just a case of whether the offer is appealing to the player himself. Many players over 30yo would probably be tempted for the right salary, especially the muslim ones.

Could easily see Arsenal flogging Partey to the saudis, for example.

Rather ironic that a soon to be Qatari club has fans going nuts over three players being sold to Saudi clubs. Was there this much outrage when players were sold to China?

Boehly and his partners are well connected business men that operate on a global market. They see business opportunities and they take advantage of them quickly, that is just good business.
