Bluemoon goes into Meltdown

Saw this from a West Ham fan (personally I disagree but anyway)

Man City might as well not exist in my view, wouldn't make a difference. I feel nothing when they win, nothing when they lose and even less when they win the league.

For all of Chelsea's faults - of which there are ****loads - they at least managed to build some sense of relevance by having long-serving players like Drogba, Terry, Lampard, Cole, Cech etc. in their team. You point to those as all-time Chelsea greats.

Man City just feels like a mercenary band. Like a greatest hits collection of the players not good enough to play for Real Madrid and Barcelona. They still don't feel like a real top side to me yet, even though they've won the league etc. They have no identity; they're a perpetual all-star team.

Beating them yesterday didn't feel as good as beating Arsenal or Liverpool. I think that says a lot, considering they're probably the strongest side in the league at the moment.

I think he makes good points. It wasn't so bad at Chelsea as they had players like Desailly, Zola, Gullit, Vialli, etc before the money came in. They finished top 6 for the previous 7 years. City would probably be in the Championship now.

Over 10k posts about the rags, it makes us seem obsessed. Who cares about them anyway and who cares about who they consider to be their biggest rival. They are just a has been club!

Everyone cares about the media, people listen to that shite and tbh we shouldnt let them get away with it. Think about this..... Last season Aguerro got hardly any mention about his golden boot, and tbh he hardly gets enough recognition. If I were him I would be looking at moving to another club where I can raise my profile.

I might be on one today and the City-Juve game did a annoy me but I have written to BT already, it shouldn't be allowed to have a studio full of Utd/Liverpool fans an players commentating on the team they hate!

The poor sod has to basically explain and apologise over there as to why he was on here
It's an extraordinarily vicious atmosphere - like a congregation of former bullies yearning for the glory days in year 6 to come back around.

It never fails to astound me just how paranoid about the media they are. I've seen people on the back end of a 4 day mcat bender with a more reasonable outlook.

City are the Harlem Globetrotters of football. Plastic club, plastic fans who whored themselves to the Sheik and his oil money. They really are the epitome of the Sky/big money era of football that we were accused of only thriving because of.

They're easily the worst fans in the league along with the red scousers. They both make Arsenal and Chelsea fans look fantastic from a rival perspective.

I wouldn't say Liverpool fans. Sure there are a lot of idiots but some of them are pretty sensible. City fans seem to have forgotten all the reasons they hated us in the past.

Don't people go and watch the Harlem Globetrotters though?

Why do I hate United?

It's hard to nail down to a specific, but as an Irish fan it has it's roots in a feeling.

As a young kid, I was given a football and a hand me down rag shirt. You were either Liverpool or United in Ireland back then. There was no option C.(I put this down to Ronnie Whelan and Kevin Moran/Paul McGrath but know historically irish players played on both teams)

I was brought to see the rags versus bohemians on a Monday night(I think) as they won 3-0. I didn't enjoy it at all. Sterile. Cocky. Cold. Fans who barely watched the game.

On the Tues night, I was brought to see Shelbourne vs City. Kendall. Reid. Clive Allen. Niall Quinn.

And loads and loads of travelling Manchester fans who made the atmosphere great fun. I remember turning to my dad and saying "that's my team. I'm a City fan" and he laughed.

Who's laughing now?

And then you learn about "history". Something they like to bring up but don't quite know what that is.

City bailing them out after the bombing.

City bailing them out after Munich.

How they treated the families of their players who passed away.(I know 100% that one of the families gives their Old Trafford derby day tickets to City officials to this day).

How they poached Ryan Wilson for a washing machine.

How Cantona orchestrated a move from Leeds at the expense of his teammates marriage.

The bullying of officials, phantom penalties, strange favourable draws and many, many contentious refereeing decisions.

The blatant poaching of Dion Dublin, Dwight Yorke, Neil Webb, Cantona (as stated) and dozens, dozens more.

Then we move to closer "history".

The Munich game and the infamous reneging on the "no sponsorship" agreement.

AIG making sure they paid to have the only advertising on such a significant day.

Briefing the media all week about the chance that "little City" would cause trouble on such a somber day.

Small minded. Greedy.

Some of the many reasons I can never give them the time of day.

But all posts by Blues related to the scumbags are in this thread, whereas on sad cafe, as I understand it, there are umpteen different threads about the only team from Manchester.

But they're not at all obsessed with us.

That was in response to this:

Over 10k posts about the rags, it makes us seem obsessed. Who cares about them anyway and who cares about who they consider to be their biggest rival. They are just a has been club!

Not sure why he understands that, weird considering a couple weeks ago they had 3 United threads as the top 3 threads in the general football section.

City didnt bail us out after the bombing. They made a profit.

During the reconstruction of the stadium, Manchester United played their "home" games at Maine Road, the home of their cross-town rivals, Manchester City, at a cost of £5,000 a year plus a percentage of the gate receipts

I just looked what they said about our performance yesterday just to stumble on 10 pages of discussion what was the attendance for our match. They seemed pretty angry because the number was not announced anywhere.

So what was the attendance? I think LVG said 50k in the post-match interview which is pretty big for Carling Cup match. It is definitely strange that they discuss that when they can't get same number for some of their CL matches.

They suggested there was an elaborate cover up by the authorities and the media to massage our attendance figures.

They're thick as feck. Everyone takes the piss out of them having an empty stadium for PL games or CL games against Bayern/Juve and the likes. No one ever watches a capital one cup game and says 'why's there so many empty seats'.

Do utd not release attendance figures, just looking at last nites results and on the s*n online all the results last nite have the attendance apart from you know who, strange

Clearly all the newspaper sports editors rang each other and said "United's attendance wasn't very good. Can we all agree to have a news blackout on it in case any City fans take the piss out them

We all know their ground full constantly is a myth, but as we all know spout it enough times(emptihad)it becomes reality, myself im not really arsed if any ground is full but its just blatant pandering to there gimp masses

You were arsed enough to go looking around for their attendance last night.

Not really just looked at the results and noticed there's wasn't there.

Getting so wound up over a 'Rag'

I fully and wholeheartedly agree. He comes on here spouting his shit and when met with those with a better understanding he resorts to guesswork. Someone posted earlier that there is a rag on here cutting and pasting lots of posts on Sad Cafe, well, it's this knob and he is being treated as some kind of god on that pitiful website.

Ban the gobshite for good please

They are treating someone who is making a cock of himself and losing his arguments as a god, lmfao that website really is a pitiful place :D

Funnily enough, he doesn't post anything he writes, just selects certain posts to take back to his lords and masters at Sad Cafe

They think I'm the United fan who's WUMing them over there.

Dirty rag bastads. Have to drive past that shithole every day and my radio looses its reception just outside the Meccano shithole. Another reason to hate the dirty evil rancid wankers.

It's impressive how they can even find a way to call one of the best stadiums in football a shithole, whilst they play their games in a council house. That's some commitment to blind hatred.

Have to disagree with you there I'm afraid, their stadium is much better than ours, you can see their seats for a start.

Don't know why, but I just don't give a feck about City or their shit fans. The fact they call us rags is just cringe. They moan that no one gives them attention (e.g agueros golden boot) but that's cos no one cares.

Their entire existence post Arab oil is completely false and makes all their achievements arbitrary. If liverpool had won a couple years back I would have been devastated because they played the right way and i fecking hate them, while everyone would have agreed that they deserved the glory. Would have been utterly disgusting.

But Steven slipped, City won and no one gave a solitary shit.

yep. that season is and will forever be remembered for liverpool's collapse. Nobody outside Eastlands genuinely cared who won it

They've started writing poems. They're actually becoming RAWK, but somehow even more bitter.

I agree. Now that they are forced to close entire sections of their stadium (Closed Trafford) and take days before releasing bogus attendance figures there really is little left to argue with them about. The banner has gone, we've started to win titles and consistently finish above them and our trajectory is upwards while they are following Liverpool into a spiral of decline. Time to move on. Lets focus on overcoming the elite clubs in Europe now. Real, Barca and Bayern are still ahead of us while others like PSG and Juve are at our level. They are our priority. The rags are still an irritant and will always be our local rivals but we've passed them. Lets not discuss them anymore until we play them. It's all been said.

Have PSG and Juve also never passed the round of 16 in the CL?

They've "passed" United? they win two PL titles and fall flat on their face in Europe year on year and they're now beyond us?

If they manage to scrape past Real or Barca over two legs on away goals, but lose in the next round, they'll probably declare themselves the Kings of Europe.

I would argue against them but you just can't win an argument against such delusional feckwits.
