Yes, the money attracts them, not the Club.
Di Maria, Wayne Rooney and Mata all play for free because they grew up idolising Man United. Forgot about that

Yeah, we attract them with the lure of money and a chance to win trophies.
Of course not. However Manchester United can pay high wages thanks to years and years of hard work on and off the pitch, we are in a position to pay our players as much as the Club deems worthy, it only becomes an issue when we pay our players more than the Club earns, we aren’t even close to that.Do you think players would play for United for nothing?
As above, if you can’t see the difference you really are deluded. No one plays for free but some players are attracted to the Club, City have no real history to be attracted to, well apart from having a very wealthy owner.Di Maria, Wayne Rooney and Mata all play for free because they grew up idolising Man United. The same extent. They just did it first so it's starting to seem more authentic now even though they started the whole financial doping bonanza. You attract them because you are owned by a Sheikh, without him you wouldn’t get these players, just like you wouldn’t ‘win’ any trophies. That’s my point. PSG, Monaco, City and to a lesser extent Chelsea are all in the positions they are thanks to a rich man wanting a play thing. To think otherwise is just beyond delusional.

My point still remains, just because a Club wins the lottery doesn’t automatically make them an elite Club, like in life you have to earn respect, not buy it. Many players have turned down bigger wages to go to an elite Club, City are from an elite Club and are unlikely ever to be seen as such, in our lifetime anyway.

Didn't look like, last nightIf that's the case how come our squad is better than yours?

Like that matters...Yeah, playing in the competition your squad couldn't qualify for.
Please, think before you type
Aye, a team with 10 men....You do realise they beat United the game before that?
Aye, a team with 10 men....
They wouldn't have done with 11 men.And whose fault was that? How is it relevant even?
Like that matters...
You were absolutely rubbish, Bobby.
They wouldn't have done with 11 men.
(Get over yourself)
Lovely .And how do you know this? You don't, you're just guessing.
Regardless it's irrelevant anyway since United didn't, and City won.
In fairness, thanks. In fairness, that's the best post I've seen you make in all my time on this forum.
Lovely .
Sorry about that. Not really, as a draw would have been best as far as I'm concerned.
De Gea had to make some absolutely fantastic saves in the first half when it was 11 vs 11. They had three penalty shouts also, two of which I am not sure of and one which I definitely would have given. They were deserved victors imo. I don't know how you can be so sure that you would have won if it was 11 vs 11 tbh. City have won 6 out of the last 7 games between the two teams, including some absolute hammerings and humiliations. Surely you don't have an excuse for all of them? They wouldn't have done with 11 men.
Actually it's a bit of sarcasm and ribbing really.De Gea had to make some absolutely fantastic saves in the first half when it was 11 vs 11. City, as a club, don't appear to be arsed about anything unless it involves United.
They didn't even look that happy about winning the league last season because we were nowhere near it.

Niall Quinn using FFP restrictions as an excuse for their CL struggles.
A pissed off Niall Quinn using FFP restrictions as an excuse for their CL struggles.
Typical SKY talking shit as usual. There can be absolutely no excuses made for their performances in Europe. If they go out in the group stage for the third time in four years then that is an absolute disaster and it means that they simply have not been good enough at the highest level.
Phil Thompson the other day was saying that Liverpool were unlucky not to get anything from the games vs Madrid the other night and Souness was saying some silly things after Madrid beat Liverpool at Anfield. They criticise Premier League teams sometimes but only when no excuses can be made. Neville is an excellent pundit imo and Carragher is ok when he wants to be but the rest are absolutely terrible and don't offer much great insight at all. I would go so far as to say some of the pundits on SKY are among the worst and most biased I have ever seen on TV. I get the impression they think their audience is stupid after some of the things that they say. They are more focused on promoting the Premier League brand than they are analysing games.Wouldnt say typical sky given redknapp and souness were critical. Id say typical Quinn finding excuses though
I see the point you're attempting to make, money is a factor indeed but so is the size of the club for example we're considered in the top 4 of Madrid, Barca and Bayern in contrast to Aguero, Silva and Toure signing for a club they most likely never heard of.
Ah I get what you mean. Yeah but thats when they talk about their own teams. Souness can be good when not talking about Liverpool. Quinn is terrible in general. I dont think Redknapp is good and needs something with him tbh.
Neville and Carragher are good.
Sky are better than ITV though. ITV is always horrible to watch.
De Gea had to make some absolutely fantastic saves in the first half when it was 11 vs 11.
Absolutely fantastic saves really? Not sure about that!
The club is a joke and the fact that more than 0 people are in here defending them makes me confused about life in general. Most of the discussion is plain stupid too.
United did it a hundred years before Chelsea. Chelsea now spend only what they earn, so you cannot put them on the same category as City/PSG. Otherwise you have to put every club whom sometimes during their history received aid from outside (which basically means every club). The same extent. They just did it first so it's starting to seem more authentic now even though they started the whole financial doping bonanza.
If that's the case how come our squad is better than yours? It's really amusing how some United fans seem to think every player grows up dreaming of playing for you. Honestly, half of them could not care less. Sure, some players would like to play for a club with a rich history, but if there's a better club offering them the same/better wages, they're not even going to think twice about it. History is a thing for the fans, it's not for the players. Hence, why there aren't any players clamouring to join AC Milan right now. Trophies and money. That's all they want. If that's equal, then sure, a club's history and prestige will play a part. Otherwise it's just a nice little bonus.
Also, I don't personally know any City fans who claim to be part of the 'elite clubs', and I don't know any City fans who have claimed we'd have won what we have without Sheikh Mansour. Don't know what you're getting so riled up for. You're just pissed that United aren't at the top anymore, and that's all there is to it.
Best of a very bad bunch then, right? In fact it may be argued that last season a 33 years old Terry and the season before a 34 years old Ferdinand were better than him.
Kompany is good, but neither is a world class CB nor near the level of the likes of Ferdinand, Terry, Campbell or Carvalho at their best.
Rubbish, he's one of the most overrated defenders in the league, I'm not saying he's bad, but he's nowhere near the level some place him at.
There have been many better players than him to play in the Premiership, in fact you could argue that he wouldn't feature in the top 5 teams of the premiership era.
is he feck?
